I think the Hawks would be a good fit for Vogel imo. Vogel can help that team improve a lot defensively. We know that team doesn’t need help on the offensive end. They finished 2nd in team offensive rating, top 3 in 3pt%, top 6 in ppg
As a wizards fan, I’d be OK with the Bradley Beal trade. I believe he’s overrated. He’s a good player on a bad team, last year was terrible. Turnover machine. Pics and players for Beal sounds good to me
Need a 3 to 5 pick for beal. They need a primary ball handler. I believe they may have enough shooters. I would see if the nets are willing to part with Simmons before trading beal anywhere else. IMO
I'm pretty sure in a past video you said the Hawks had a rough season and had to play with G league players or something because of injuries and/or COVID. Im a new fan of basketball and I'm obviously far from an expert. But For that team to still make the playoffs and not get swept by a top seed, that's still pretty impressive.
Every team went down with major time missed over CVID and injuries/rest in general. There are a lot of teams who had more Injuries who didn't do as bad. Tough to use that as an excuse this year.
@@bolsbolbol368 I think you're assuming I'm a Hawks fan, I'm not. I'm a Raptors fan. So I'm not being biased at all. Not every team had to bring in G league players just so they could have a playable team. The Hawks suffered heavily at the start of the season which is why they struggled so much. When everyone was healthy they did well, and unfortunately had to go through the play in, to then face the best team in the East. They've had some hard luck. Why do you hate the Hawks so much?
@@hib6076 not sure what you're talking about. I said nothing bad about the Hawks and I didnt take you for a Hawks fan I took you for a new fan who isn't that familiar with the sport yet like you suggested. Take a look at the Hawks schedule and look at how many times they played teams that were missing key players. It was the same for everyone.
@@bolsbolbol368 I know that every team had issues with injuries and Covid but I would say it hit the hawks more severe than others (maybe not Cleveland). But the main problem was when the injuries and Covid happened. Where other teams could move their games bc they had not enough players the hawks were forced on a lot of 10-Days. And that was when they had their easiest stretch of the season. For some games their rotation was 7 G-Leaguers 2 Bench Guys and 1 starter and similar rotation. And that led to no chemistry and unnecessary losses to eg the magic or the rockets that should never happen. But even so the team still massively underperformed, guys regressed or didn’t make the jump the fo thought they would
This off-season may be insane with so many good teams that have to make moves or risk their stars wanting out and/or a lot of money wasted on teams that have no shot at a championship there could be some big players on the move. Good for us but it could be bad for teams that make bad moves.
Ironically though I think we might see a lot of proposed trades that go nowhere too because everybody's going to be wanting more value than they are willing to give up... And because if you look at the biggest names to get moved last year, both players ended up costing their team a shitload of money and contributing basically nothing.
The Hawks is giving up too much for Beal! The Gobert deal is more reasonable and since the Hawks have many good wings compare to the Jazz, Gobert defense will bring them to another level for sure!
Yo Casey! Appreciate your take on my Hawks. I agree with all your points. I just don’t know if any of them get done. I feel like the team is close but also in an awkward position because of the new contracts. Nobody is unreadable, but the player that comes back to Atlanta has to provide the same as the outgoing plus a little more. And it’s just hard to find 2 way guys these days.
Bradley Beal can't play D though! Atlanta would go from the 9th seed to the 7th seed and from losing on 5 on the first round to losing in 7. Not good enough. Smh. I do like the Utah trade a lot though.
Heya Casey. Just wanna let you know that every morning when I get into work I watch your videos while having my coffee. I'm from South Africa so it's very rarely that I can watch them when they drop. Just wanna let you know that my work day starts off great because of you. Thank you.
Everything was spot outside JC not being Happy, Gobert making the Hawks better, and Cam Reddish. JC said several times he wants to be here. Gobert doesn’t set screen in where Capela does and Capela rim runs. Cam wanted starter mins. Tighten up
The nuggets got eliminated and they would likely have an interesting off season with Barton likely getting traded for some kind of 3d player and boogie leaving in free agency so they will be looking for a backup center
Please do a Cavs offseason video they are an interesting team to look forward to in free agency with Sexton, Love's expiring deal next year, and Levert and Garland's extension.
I live in Georgia (not that it matters) and Trae Young carries the Hawks so they really need trades to happen and good ones. Trae does play pretty good considering he isn't very tall and he gets some of the best season stats of the season.
Wizards are never going far with beal as a #1 option, so it'd be a steal to get 2 good young players and 3 picks for him. Beal isn't worth 40 million dollars a year but Washington is basically forced to pay him, so if they got that much value out of him it would be a huge finesse.
I would like a trade with Toronto to try to get Siakim. He'll bring playmaking, defense and length without slowing the team down. The last couple of years Utah and Gobert has been exposed for Gobert lack of playing on the perimeter, unable to be on the court late in games and not being fast enough to cover these smaller guards and wings, but I wouldn't complain about getting Gobert because our defense especially in the paint will be elite.
DeAndre Hunter needs to work on his handles and off ball play. He does that and they go next level. Trae needs someone that can hold them steady when he's off the floor too. Stack up on their defense in FA, get a good PG. Rudy overrated as f.. Try to trade for Pascal and OG.
@@slattlife8908 James Wiseman could be huge for them. The only thing with that, is what Warriors might want in return. If they overvalue him, it's worth exploring. My biggest worry with Wiseman is that he's had that knees surgery. He's very heavy at his size and I'd be worried of it happening again. Possibly career ending, if not always a nagging injury. Oden and Amare had that same issue. Sucks too, cause I seen him as possibly the next Superstar big. Being immature and not taking the extra steps before gathering for his dunk and landing bad as result has gotten him where he is. Hopefully he will work on more of a strong post game and his timing. Only take necessary dunks when open and under the rim. I think Pascal is a great trade because the Hawk's are possible contenders now, with the right pieces. Pascal and Boucher both, he's underrated. Very valuable for his height/athleticism at 6'9 220 with his quickness to block shots. He can play that small ball and they can both switch from PF/C. While also he can shoot the corner 3. Possibly even think about trading this year's draft pick and a player like Bogdonovic for a guy like Malcolm Brogdon. They may have to throw in another pick or player swap. That would give the Hawk's a position less combo guard who can play 1,2,3, handle the ball when Trae isn't. Or play alongside him and be that other playmaker for Trae to play off the ball. The Hawks would be immediate contenders. I think that's very possible, given the right picks and players in the trade and neither team loses, or gives too much. Obviously you trade Collins in the Pascal/Boucher deal. I'd try for some picks here if I'm the Hawks too. Because you're giving a younger prospect. Even if it's a protected 2023 1st, or maybe a pick in this year's draft with a 2nd and 2024 1st. Whatever gets the deal done. I believe they'd easily do it, because they're trying to get younger and rebuild, Pascal is a huge trade piece that will be gotten by someone. Bet, he'd be a steal for a team looking to contender and add some serious strength and 2way play at that PF/C position. They could even still keep Capela, or better yet. Look to trade him later. They could add Mark Williams at C in the draft. Maybe Tari Eason, Abaji, Duren, Daniel's, or Terquavion who I personally love. So many good sleepers later too like him. I like Bryce McGowens for his size and shot. I think he would transition even better to the NBA at SG as far as his defense. Because they will be bigger and slower than the Guards he mostly saw in college possibly. Then eventually build some strength and play some SF. He's an amazing shooter at 6'7, can create and isn't afraid to drive it into the body of a defense to draw fouls and finish. Yet he's not even talked about. I'd also
I'd even thought if the Pacers said no, to offer Heild for Huerter. I know his length is better on defense. He's also a great shooter, however he's on a growing contract. Not that he's not worth it. However, you get Heild who is in his prime for the next 2 years. Is at time's the best 3pt% shooter and only behind Steph in made 3's. He's a very good off ball player, mentor and has a high IQ on the floor. Malcolm Brogdon makes up for any defense. While Hield isn't bad either, he's strong, gets into passing lanes and will take it for a fast break at times. They can add another wing in FA and another bigger Guard. A guy like Sochan going late might be helpful with his passing and defense also. Coming off the bench. Being able to play multi positions and disrupt player's rythem and in transition.
@@warlockmagic3416 the way Lonnie playing they can trade James gs will win at Least 2more rings in the next 4yr because they can trade for caplea gobert they is set they gm is a geinus
All those trades except for the Jermi Grant one is stupid for the Hawks to do! I would not trade 2 solid players and younger with 3 1st round picks for Beal!
There are dozens of combinations that would work for the Hawks but the issue is for some reason the Front Office is determined to stay small, young and with no enforcers. The Atlanta nice guy filter screws all of our professional teams
(1) Atlanta Hawks + Indiana Pacers trade scenario: Clint Capella & Bogdan Bogdanovic to the Pacers. Myles Turner & Buddy Heild to the Hawks. (2) Atlanta Hawks + Orlando Magic trade scenario: John Collins to the Orlando Magic. Jonathan Isaac & Frank Wagner to the Atlanta Hawks. (3) Free Agent pick-ups for the Atlanta Hawks: G-League players Thon Maker & Tacko Fall along with free agent Isaiah Thomas. *The Atlanta Hawks possible line-up* C: Myles Turner; Tacko Fall. PF: Danilo Gallinari; Thon Maker & Onyeka Okongwu. SF: Jonathan Isaac(coming off injury) & De'Andre Hunter; Jalen Johnson & Frank Wagner. SG: Buddy Heild; Delon Wright & Kevin Hueter. PG: Trae Young; Isaiah Thomas & 2023 Draft Pick.
Respect to A.M. Hoops 5:29 on researching that Pacers Fans know Nate McMillan doesn’t get a team out of the first round. Blazers Fans can say the same when he coached them from 2005-12. The extinct Seattle SuperSonic Fans would be the only team that witnessed him in 2005 win a series.
Hawks rebuilt too fast (IMO) and now they are dealing with the consequences financially. The 2 and 3 positions both need to be elite 3 & D players to cover Young’s defensive inefficiencies but that’s not the flashy thing to do lol
@@toteispoe4 , As an OKC, ATL doesn’t have the assets to acquire SGA from Okc. I could see ATL calling on Dort but then you guys have two problems next off-season (Dort and Hunter extensions). ATL needs a 1 year, pseudo rebuild and they could be unbelievable for a decade.
The Gobert trade is great for the Hawks. Defense is their glaring hole. John Collins is better than Jerami Grant, younger than Grant, and fits better next to Trae and every other NBA star. Trae doesn't need a teammate to take the ball out of his hands and chuck inefficient shots up. The same applies for Bradley Beal. The main reason the Heat were able to load up on Trae was because the spacing was bad, and that's on the coaching. In the clip at 3:57, there should have been a shooter in the strong side corner, but there wasn't, so it was easy to load up on him. If Beal was standing where Gallinari, Huerter, or Hunter were, then the spacing still would have been just as bad.
Bro you are smoking dope nothing about john collins is better than grant grant can create his own shot can play a draymond role an have trae run off screens grant is a lock down defender john cant play defense julius randle has scored 41 an 44 points on Collins collins has zero post game zero shot creation below average defsne ion know what the hell u seeing my guy
@@garywarnerii754 Sure, Grant can create an inefficient shot that adds negative value to his team. He's a much worse shooter than Collins, he has no lob-catching ability, he draws no off-ball defensive attention, he's no better as a defender, he's no better as a passer, and he's a worse post scorer. Trae needs guys who can roll to the basket, catch lobs, and shoot threes, and John Collins is 10x better than Grant at all 3 of those things.

As a wizards fan, in fine with trading bradley beal and i think he could provide some leadership to trae young. I respect he tried to stay loyal but honestly the wizards suck and im happy hes smarter than dame. But i want the wizards to start rebuilding and try to get themselves in an okc situation where they trade players for high value picks. I get they dont exactly have the next kd or russ but they have decent players like deni havhimura beal kp kuz. I wouldnt trade them all but getting some good picks to rebuild and draft a franchise player for life would be nice. The wizards have too many wings and need a real center and playmaker
That's way too much for beal, as he is inefficient. he's not proven in the playoffs and doesn't address defence issues. 3 firsts is way too much. maybe collins, capela and 1 first rd pck at most.
Rudy shouldo go to the hawks with Trae. He deserves a team that can utilize him offensively and a true point guard who can find him. he'd be unleashed!
