I use the labels whenever I have to stop the podcast midway and need to pick it back up. It also helps me guage some of the topics in case they go into things that I'm not ready to listen to as I work through my anxiety.

I'm Dutch and grew up very close to Amsterdam and there's definitely a culture of "that didn't/doesn't happen here." It's definitely not everyone, but it's enough people that it's a problem. I'm disabled and any time I try to warn people about the ableism I'm facing I get very aggressively told "that doesn't happen here. No one acts like that. Maybe in America, but not here." And then I'm told in some way that we're the most tolerant country in the world. Even if I have evidence or I'm talking to people who were there it's: "That's just their opinion" or "it was just a joke" or "they were just interested in a debate" and it's implied that I'm in the wrong for not having calm debates about my right to autonomy or even life. It makes me "ongezellig." To be clear, most people don't do this to me. But most people don't stop the ones that do.

I think this is the case in a lot of Nordic countries too, I'm from Finland and that sounds really familiar. "It's not serious" and "that doesn't happen here" when it comes to sexism or racism. I hate it.

@@cceloful Yeah, it's like people are so proud of the fact that other countries tend to speak favourably about how progressive they are that they do not want to hear anyone say anything differently. I was taught in school that we were the most tolerant country in the world and that everyone said so. Lately I've been hearing more and more people from other countries talk about how shallow that "tolerance" really is and I agree completely. It's tolerance, it was never acceptance. We are becoming less and less progressive and extremist political parties are starting to have a chokehold on our country while people still shrug and say "well, they're really not that bad, you're being dramatic." It's endlessly frustrating.

Emetophobia safe synopsis: during the CW portion they talk about LA Beast doing big candy food challenges from many years ago when the rules of youtube were very different. He gets visibly sick on camera and the Sad Boyz and Carl Tart freak out about how crazy it is. You can really tell the Kwebbelkop voice is fake because he recorded it in a room with terrible acoustics, and of course the machine learning model doesn't know anything about human voices so it treats the room noise and resonance as just part of his voice. It's the same reason most AI voices sound breathy and resonant.

I like to think Alfred is annoyed with all Batman rouges for that reason. Like he hates whenever Clayface is up to something. Not because he's worried for Bruce fighting a monster. But because he knows the suit will get all muddy and gunky with grime. Or Killer Croc, because the suit will reek of the sewer. Bruh, love LA Beast getting a shout-out on here! Dude is an OG who has had some hits, but he seems relatively slept on in the general YT zeitgeist. Sure, his content is mostly grossout or extreme challenege stuff, but he's such a wholesome dude and he genuinely appreciates his community. Plus he's done a ton of charity work that never seems to get mentioned. That cactus eating video will forever be one of my favorite youtube vids of all time 😂

So I’m Dutch, like Kwebbelkop (Jordy). Knowing our culture, its the standard and expectation to be highly educated. We are especially great in health and tech. So many universities here are super horny for creating researches abt these topics, like AI. It wouldn’t surprise me if Kwebbelkops ‘AI project’ is actually also a collaboration with a university here

On the Comments thing - I completely understand. I get anxious over comments (and over Texts) so munch I have to remind myself that most people aren't looking at my comments but in person I am good enough at hiding my anxious energy I have way less problems talking with someone. I tend to use youtube comments more to push against my own limits of anxiety, I end up writing and re-writing comments only to delete a comment most of the time.

I always wondered if Aura or other privacy-led companies are actually owners of data mining operations on the side. Like they'll tell you that x,y,z have your information and then use whatever they find on you from the ones they helped you get removed from, feeding to their data mining operation that they're not telling you about and sell this data on the side. Double dip, ya know? They know that they're taking that data from x,y,z, and therefore since these companies don't have it, and they do, they can sell it as a rarer commodity. Corporations are hard to trust, ya know? lol Why give them the benefit of the doubt? It's like "no, you're paranoid" and I'm like "look at how unethical companies tend to be so that they can make a sh!t-ton of money? companies will literally steal money from people and only have to pay a pittance of a fine later, a fraction of what they made by stealing."
