I decided to quit lost ark when I was sitting at barbecue with friends and cought myself thinking "Oh no, I have to get home soon to do my dailys with all the alts to stay in the raid group"
dark souls 3 logged in 1500hrs doing pvp and invasions. and man i enjoyed elden but 120hrs and pvp and invasion suck. would imagine 4500hrs its going to be hard and complicated
he was dooming like 5 months into western release already evne though he kept streaming. not really surprised. he just overhyped himself and burnt himself out
@@Fumble469 It was an inside joke that Zeals pays Mihoyo's electricity bills, he spent that much. And I believe he whaled more in LOA as we can see he has three Esther8
@@Fumble469 I think you're probably right on Saintone, but there might be a point where Zeals might switch over if he spots an opening worth investing into.
They'll find one, cope about it, spend 12k in-game on micro-transactions. Then get mad about the game and quit. That's true "Gigga Cuck" behavior right there.
Man I tried to best the whales... everyday running 9 toons and never doing rested... when brel hit and I got the first kill back in December...it hit me just how much more I was gonna have to play every week to be barely keeping up with those swippers... and I snapped. Haven't played since. So much happier with life now
@@dominikr3404 playing diablo 4 currently, and yes I'm aware it has its own issues. But with the freedom I'll also be playing remnant 2 and armored core over the next few months
I watched some of Sywo's content in the early Lost Ark days and I respected his optimism and how positive he was about all the mechanisms put into Lost Ark to limit players. I tasted it after nearly 200hrs and was done with the game. I'm quite impressed it took Sywo 4500hrs to finally quit.
5700+ hours here in Lost Ark and Sywo's thoughts as to why he quit pretty much match mine. I never thought I was gonna quit either but my WoW chores already take a bit of time and I wanna spend the rest of it playing other games not doing another set of chores in another MMO.
games like lost ark were built with those time limiting systems as a requirement for the game to run in foreign countries because some places, like Korea, people will actually lose that much self control the climate here isn't the same, lol
Not that crazy i would say for a streamer, in that year i worked 12 hours night shifts and i still got like 2,5k hours on steam and i played from release until the end of 2022.
Just played 3 weeks at launch ... Could not stand with the idea of farming the whole week, to seek your mats disappear because RNG does not want me to upgrade while others do EXACTLY the same thing, but RNG makes them go higher. Pointless and predator system, P2W as fuck. Went back to BDO and I love to see how now my game finally gets some love.
@@laurentpecriaux1345 "rng" I never assume these games have tru pseudo-rng, Im always skeptical so I always assume its fixed. cause fk those companies (not the devs)
I quit Lost Ark, when I was making my schedule for bussing, raids, dungeons, reward rotations, catching the bus for world bosses, islands, chaos gates, then I realized how sick I've become, my mind is always "I've to get on the computer, I still got dailies, I can't skip or I can't catch up"... but enough of that bullshit, I'm quitting. However, I do miss the people that I've met in the game. To you guys out there, even though I don't join your runs anymore, not sure if you are still playing Lost ark or not, wish you all to live the best of your life.
14:45 Or go to a Rob Zombie concert and it turns out after the first song he played you have to pay extra for the second song, then the third song so on and so forth.
He'd be 45% of the way to being recognised as a master in any skill in the world had he taken it up at the same time with as much effort - instead it's 4.5k hours of memories only 🥲The life we gamers lead
True, I mean if he _enjoyed_ the time he spent playing it, the comparison would be less meaningful, but he _didn't even enjoy it_ so it's even worse lmao. I'd rather spend 4.5k hours learning damn near anything then playing a game-job.
He ends up being part of the products the game sales, you are paying to beat a guy that has been playing for thousands of hours and the bragging rights that come with it. Just pay! That's not a bug, it's a feature.
damn i love sywo, been watching the guy mainly for aion content for years. Amazing to see that asmon reacts to him so he can get traffic, he deserves it! such a nice guy
The playerbase has dropped so dramatically over 200k players since January. Probably half bots but still a lot. Almost down to New World levels of bleeding players. Pretty sad
About the f2p players are always bellow players who spend money. Just remind that even Gold River said they can't give LoS to people because the people who bought the card set would feel cheated. If the game CEO agrees with that don't even try to reason around it.
To me was a combionation of the chores and the gatekeeping. I had a fixed group that did all the content every week, and that always went fine. I wasn't the highest ilvl, I didn't have the best gems, but I put effort into increasing combat stats and really cared about optimizing damage rotations, which always made me outdps my teamates with higher ilvl and better weapons by a longshot, my teammates always treated me as the MVP. But then, there was always my next 5 alts, where people had no ideia of my good gameplay history, and I constatly got rejected. Finding groups was always a chore, doing the raids with people who gave up after a few failures was always a chore, and when I wanted to organize alt runs with my group was also always a chore. Eventually I just burned up and gave up playing.
4.5k hours here, I have all hell clears in the west right now, I still do reclears for fun. My main char has been ready for akan normal for ages, If i dont wanna do raids i dont do em, I have chaos and guardians rested like 3 months and I don't give a fuck, I don't do unas because fck em.. I have spent a total amount of 150€ in the game (platinum pack + lost ark passes) and I have 400k gold sitting because I have nothing to do with it, I could raise my main character to akan hard, or more chars to akan normal, of course I could. But doing more than 1 akan on release won't be fun. Game for sure needs a change for new people, but I can't understand 4k hours players needing to do chaos daily in all characters then calling the game a job because they need their 14 characters on akan normal by release... you should consider take the game less like a job and more like fun..
I have like 4000 hours in Skyrim and like 5000 hours in The Witcher 3. I'm ashamed of that. So much time wasted. I loved every single minute of it, but that isn't normal.
The fact even Sywo gets rejected from groups off stream just makes me laugh, glad I got out when I did. It feels so good to see the writing on the wall with a game and be justified.
Guys stay please! it’s only gonna be 10 more years till we retrieve the last remaining ark! A decade will finish in no time, just gotta have the stamina. It’s free 2 pay….. I mean play people! Just think about all the memories we will all share in 10 years time. Asmon only spent 12k, think what we could accomplish in 10 years.
I probably have that many hours in Fallout. The series. Bro deserves to play a game and have fun. No chance you play Lost Ark that long and still enjoy it.
Yes you can pay $10k plus and get an advantage. The average player won't gain much spending $1k, unless they bought character slots wtih them. Having tons of alts gave a huge advantage for a very long time and put people ahead. Then they could make a large amount of money by bussing. Average players don't fit in either category, so they get either take bus or get gate kept. So many in my guild quit because they felt it became an unrewarding job. The game creates FOMO.
To be clear: in P2W games especially Korean MMOs you will be absolute trash unless you spend A LOT. I am talking thousands of dollars. ArcheAge was a lot of fun for me as F2P but there were limits to what I could do. The whales could wipe out 40 of us with a group of 5 players. There were players in my raid that did pay, they paid a few hundred though not thousands. There was almost no limit to how powerful you could get by paying in ArcheAge. But I loved the gliders, the ship battles, fishing, trade routes, the land system (that most players hated). Anyways I tried Lost Ark and while I liked the game play I walked away cause I didn't feel like spending big bucks...and that game was one I wasn't gonna enjoy without forking over $$$.
Remember the good old days when MMOs had no pay to win mechanics? I don't because even the early days you just buy another account and /follow to power level your other toons and make money lol.
RIP Lost Ark. I miss playing my blonde sexy girl with skimpy outfit gunslinger, really cool and badass class. Hope some game pickup those gameplay in the future.
