I installed this optic on a crossman 760 air rifle.I have now shot the riffle around 500 times during target/plinking practice, and the ru-vid.comUgkxc4K63Fd5LglDMObu7-Bgapxp_ef0W8hE scope has done well.With this optic, I have neutralized around 30 pigeons that were invading one of my buildings.For my short range air rifle, I will continue to use this scope, but will be upgrading to a more powerful scope, when I buy a more powerful air rifle, in order to shoot at longer distance.For the money I have spent, this scope has truly been a great buy.

Excellent advice. I have had to start shooting left handed because my right eye is dying. Everything about shooting LH is awkward, from mounting the rifle, to cycling the action, to shooting in different positions, even to carrying the dog-gone-thing. My effective range is now only 100 yards. I keep trying to conquer this development, I have not given up. Got any advice?

I have and am reading your book. I have questions on your points on cheek rest re prone position. Obviously head needs to be up to see through scope. Are you trying to have head vertical to see straight down scope or tilted down a bit? Also full weight of head on stock? All 10 pounds?

After watching this video I need to do some scope work on my rifles. Ugh! Thank you for the tip. I am uncomfortable behind every rifle I own and I will fix it. I also need to buy a rear bag. The range sand bags just don’t work properly. Probably going to buy the SEB Large Bag.

I cut a piece of sleeve off an Under Armor long-sleeved shirt. It's that stretchy material and filled it with Airsoft Bbs. No sand beans or rice to worry about getting wet. You can easily wash it and it will dry completely if you get it dirty 👍

Could you comment about bipod height and the angle of the neck? I oftentimes feel like I am straining my neck and wonder if it is related to bipod height but am not sure. I also struggle with the tops of the frames of my glasses being between my eye and my scope.
@RyanCleckner
@RyanCleckner 6 лет назад
Yes, too low could cause strain. However, resting the full weight of my head usually removes all strain for me.

It's hard to tell, but it looks like your body is a little off to one side. In your book, you said you shoot in line with the rifle. I keep finding myself off to the side a little. Is this ok or should I keep trying to correct this?

I am working with my first rifle/scope combo. (I am 71) Windham Weaponry AR15 and a Nikon P223 3x32 scope. I try to do all the right things but while I am hitting the target a t 100 and 200 yds, I can’t seem to get a consistent, small grouping. I’m not sure if it is trouble with my sight picture or trigger pull. Driving me nuts!
@mikenoble9151
@mikenoble9151 6 лет назад
rascalMatt17 thanks for the advice. I am teaching myself so every bit of constructive advice is appreciated. I changed a few things regarding grip and trigger pull. And worked harder to get the right sight picture. I did reduce the size of my groupings. I think I need a bit more patience! More practice should get me better results.
@mikenoble9151
@mikenoble9151 6 лет назад
rascalMatt17 . Matt my eyes are fine. What I meant was that I am getting used to the scope. Getting the right eye relief so the reticle is accurate. I’m not sure of the trigger pull. It is a one stage trigger though. Sixteen inch barrel with a 1 in 9 twist. Using 55 grain, 5.56 ammo. I guess I would like to get down to a 2” group. I’ve been shooting 3 shots at a time and checking the result with a spotting scope.

i'm not trying to start a war here, but a very tiny shadow is ok and beneficial. why? if your view is a clear image from side to side and top to bottom ( probably what most people would think is ideal ) how do you know if your eye is actually centered? but if you have an even shadow around your view, you know for sure your eye is centered, and can easily tell if you're not. and because you can be sure your eye is centered, the parallax doesn't need to be perfect.

@james1795

Cyber. Sarcasm?
@CyberShanghai
@CyberShanghai 6 лет назад
Lead Poyzinun, nope, legit question. My face is closer to the scope when prone, because my body rotates horizontally. When seated, my body is more vertical and my head rotates away from the scope. Am I the only one that has this problem?
@miles13242
@miles13242 6 лет назад
CyberShanghai nope, your not the only one, I'm intrested in the answer as well, two feasible solutions in my opinion are, set it to be most comfortable for how you are going to shoot the most and just shift your head, I know it's what the video says not to do, the other option being to get a stock with l.o.p. you can adjust easily without tools, which won't work well if you are shooting competitions where you change position several times in a stage.
@RyanCleckner
@RyanCleckner 6 лет назад
No. But you should adjust the rifle so that it works for you in both positions. May not be perfect for either, but good enough for both. Great question.
@buggiesandboars

Ryan Cleckner with my 243 and 300wm, I shoot almost 100% prone, so they are set up for that. My other rifles and shotgun are set up for shooting off the back of a truck or standing, so they are set up for that style.

How come everywhere else expect having to do with “distance shooting” the instruction is to be at an angle to the rifle? Obviously if you are supporting the front of the rifle with your hand, being straight behind the rifle would be a bit difficult. The first time a saw a bunch of guys straight behind the rifle was at a PRS match with a bunch of distance shooters. Hmm

what i would like to see is if you get to shoot someone elses matched Precision rifle, which is set up for some else and then your moving your body to get to see the reticle on the scope every time, which is what i had to do, as i was invited to a march shooting practice and got a score of 38 at 1,100 yards the other guys scored around 40 to 50, only due to the extreme weather conditions, wind was so bad its not funny, 25 to 40 KM winds moving across the range from right to left and then left to right and straight at you as well, so i think i did ok, considering its not my rifle and it was a customised F class weapons system with 215 to 220 grain projectiles, so basically pushing the limits of the bullistrics coefficient of the 7.62mm rounds? Also have not shot a weapon for over 35 years, got my snipers patch at the age of 15 in the cadets and with the australia 7.62mm L1A1 SLR weapons system, cheers, basically now i am hooked on it, but need to save some cash to by a 2nd rifle and get to know how to do everything and learn as much as i can from these blokes. :) After all they are all competition shooters and also going to England this March 2019 for championships in f class?

I'm not trying to be a jackwagon but is there really any reason to run a bolt that fast at a stationary range target? It just looks like showing off rather than serving any real purpose. Seriously, if there's a reason I'd like to know.
@RyanCleckner
@RyanCleckner 6 лет назад
svhowell real reason is the same reason I reload a pistol fast even when shooting at a stationary target - practice the right way.

@BoogiemanMoto

svhowell F Class is not indicative of practical speed and time required to engage multiple targets at different distances. Especially if you were shooting a timed stage at a PRS match. Could be why running the bolt quickly seems so “show off”ish to you. When you need to get rounds on target as fast as possible to move to the next one, or follow up with a second shot, it makes all the difference. Trust me when I tell you that is in fact the correct way to run a bolt action when shooting under stress.
