Yay!!! So glad you're back! Over had lots of similar issues come to light in the last several months (I'm working with a fantastic ND). Currently on several supplements to help regulate some hormones and get my gut back on track. I also have fatty liver disease and insulin resistance, so that's been a bit scary. I can't wait to follow along with you again on your healthy lifestyle, you've always been so inspiring to me.

You’re amazing! Congratulations on becoming a NP! What an achievement.! I’m so glad I lucked up on your channel as I am trying to manage my PCOS naturally. Any tips on how I should approach my gynecologist with this my plan. Ido trust him but I don’t want to take BC. It terrifies me!
@jordanwaddell
@jordanwaddell 3 года назад
Thank you for your sweet words, Melissa! I think the best thing you can do is let them know that right now you're interested in lifestyle modifications and non-pharmacological ways to manage PCOS. They may have some in mind to share, but they may not! Providers do WANT to help, but we often don't know ALL the tools (since pharmacology is the what we spend the most time on in treatment methods). If there's a specific supplement you're interested in trying, let them know you'd like to try it! They will have the ability to check and make sure it doesn't interact with anything else you're taking and/or have negative side effects. If you feel uncomfortable with their responses, it's okay to find a provider you ARE comfortable with. Reading provider bios on websites is VERY helpful 😉

New to your channel and enjoying your vidoes! Congratulations on you becoming a NP!! I was considering vegetarian diet to help with weight loss and arthritis as I know going vegan is not an option for me. Lol But now leaning more towards Mediterranean or Pescatarian life style in hopes it will help with weight AND arthritis. Would love to hear your suggestions for chronic arthritis of the spine.

The digestive issues gas, bloating, and irregular bowel movements/constipation are from loading up on fiber. Your diet also seems to be rather high in oxalate, which is particularly bad when when gut permeability is an issue. Ruminant meat and fat would be a good replacement for a lot of what you're eating for gut health, hormones and muscle.

Hi Jordan, have you heard of The Plant Paradox by Dr. Steven Gundry? The book is all about gut health. Also do you know where I can find reliable information on preventing kidney stones? I was recently hospitalized because of a kidney stone and in doing research about how to prevent them I found there are so many conflicting information. I believe my kidney stone was caused by all the high oxalate foods that I was eating. Thanks for any help.

@jordanwaddell 3 года назад
Hi there! Yes! I have heard of Dr. Gundry and have listened to him being interviewed on many podcasts. I think this resource from the National Kidney Foundation is nice: www.kidney.org/atoz/content/kidneystones_prevent - getting enough water and movement is a great place to start!

Thanks so much. I love your videos! I love real, wholesome foods like you do. My struggle is maintaining consistency because I fall for refined carns sometimes. I need to get used to eating and preparing ancient grains, quinoa, millet etc and find a variety of recipes that I can always pull from :)

@@mixedmediamindset That's the key! Just being prepared and having the fiber-rich carbs on hand and ready to go. We crave convenience, right?! So we have to shift and make the 'good' stuff convenient. I try to have frozen cooked rice, simple mills crackers, base culture bread, and lots of dark dark chocolate on hand in my kitchen. Sometimes I'll even just do a spoonful (or two) of almond butter with cinnamon and it helps SO much with cravings!
@mixedmediamindset
@mixedmediamindset 3 года назад
Thank so much. That is definetly important to make those good foods convenient. I'm going to look up base culture bread. I'm been experimenting with different gluten free flours to make flat breads but would love to try some regular fluffy bread. It's fun! Healthy and glowing can be fun and thanks for sharing your education and inspiration.
