In this week's what I eat in a day vlog I'm sharing the high protein meals I eat to stay strong, lean, balance hormones, and combat sugar cravings. In a full day of eating, I try to get around 0.75-1g protein per lb of body weight or around 20-40g per meal. Getting enough quality protein is so important for the body because it helps regulate blood sugar and supports lean muscle and ultimately a health body weight. Upping your quality protein is a fantastic tool for weight loss, longevity, strength, and overall health.

Ground Beef & Veggie Skillet Recipe:
1 lb grass fed ground beef
1 12 oz bag of frozen cauliflower rice
2 cups mixed vegetables, fresh or frozen
1/4 cup marinara sauce
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
1 tbsp paprika
1/2 tbsp chili powder (more if you like it spicy)
1 tsp garlic powder
salt
black pepper
4 cups fresh spinach

Cook the beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks until fully browned. Add the cauliflower, peas and carrots, marinara, and all spices. Toss to combine and evenly distribute the spices. Cook for 5-6 minutes until vegetables are warmed through. Stir in the spinach and cook another 2-3 minutes or until just wilted. Serve and enjoy! Makes 3-4 servings.

I have recently transitioned from being a healthy whole food plant based vegan x 9 years back to being a healthy whole food omnivore. Now I eat meat again and I feel amazingly good. My hair, skin, nails are shining!! My energy levels are solid and stable in ways they were no longer eating vegan. Transitioning was difficult and I had some many antagonizing thoughts about buying, eating and even storing meat in the fridge. But I have recently taken a stance and just moved forward as an omnivore and I educated myself about the health benefits of eating animal food and how eating a healthy vegan diet was not really as healthful as I thought!!! Thanks for your work and sharing your knowledge!!!

Thank you for sharing your story. I'm battling rather to consume fish and eggs. I find I'm not getting enough protein at 47 years old eating vegan.

Hi Jordan! So happy to see you back and absolute congratulations on becoming an NP! I have PCOS also and it’s how I found your channel. I know many people with PCOS (myself included) struggle with weight loss. Would you consider doing a video on weight loss recipes and increasing metabolism and digestion?

Thanks for sharing. You have a great routine. Your recipes look very health and delicious. Keep up the good effort. I am a believer in fasting. I do 18:6 intermittent fasting daily with low carb. I have two well balanced meals daily over six hours. No snacks in between. I restrict fruit (except berries), sugar, soy, refined carbs and processed foods. In terms of exercise, I do strength training M-W-F and sprint intervals Tu-Th. I keep it simple so I do not have to over think it. Cheers!

I love your videos - but I thought that the calculation for protein was .75-1.35 grams per KILOGRAM - NOT POUNDS of body weight..

i am intolerant to cheese and allergic to eggs :/ i use coconut cheese and tofu instead of eggs, i think that there are proteins in tofu as well?

Would you say going vegan is a good opportunity? I am not vegan I would say more of a flexitarian but your videos are so great and I have the feeling you have lots of experience!

It was a phenomenal opportunity for me to have to try new and healthy foods. I was super picky as a child and teen - like NO veggies at all - so switching to being vegan I really had to try new vegetables, legumes, etc. Even though I'm not vegan now, I still love all those plant-based foods and learned to cook with them to make them taste amazing. I hope that helps!
