Just a little behind-the-scenes video where I discuss the artistic influences that went into making the portraits in Heathcliff's gallery. Please enjoy!
The Leyendecker took my breath away honestly, I adore those fashion advertisement paintings where the suit just fades into the background, your rendition of it with the white is just so stunning
Honestly that shouldn't be something you're "lucky" to have, a partner should always support your interests! But yeah I do agree with you this is so darn cute!!
Honestly this and the succubus halloween Skits had to be my favorite because you added so much more of your art in them! The photo album for Embers family was adorable and the gallery here was absolutely regal
“It’s a little embarrassing to talk about my own work for so long” Girl that’s why we’re here, your style and talent is so unique and such a entertaining inspiration to be creative, we are literally here for your art talk it up!
I've thought this before when watching your previous videos and seeing your concept arts, but I really love your art style. Also I think it's a mark of a truly good artist when they're not only comfortable in their own style but can accurately mimic other artists' styles and create an impression of it being from that artist. I knew without the explanations what each portrait was inspired by, and I think that's a testament to your artistry! Kudos!
Honestly if you ever think of making prints of of you doll art I would 100% buy one of Heathcliff in the Arrow ad, it's so good! I was great to see a bit of your process for these, thanks for the video!
THE VELAZQUEZ REFERENCE IS JUST SO AMAZING 😭😭😭 He’s my favorite artist better, I’m from Madrid and lucky enough to have been to the Prado museum about 100 times in my life. I loved your version so much 🫶🫶
I love always seeing the little bits of lore added to each Halloween doll over the years! The Halloween dolls feel the most like characters with their own stories and connections Sad we always gotta wait a year though for updates on their lives :,D
I'm so glad you took time to explain the paintings in that scene! They were a really cool idea and it's amazing getting more of a focused view on them!
Love that you did all of these yourself! I've already seen artists who do miniatures or doll set ups use AI at times, but this approach is so much more fun and personal
I really like your humbleness, considering how very talented you are. It's very becoming. It's also a rare thing these days in this selfie society we live in now. You can definitely talk about your art more, because it's so inspiring to see and hear others letting their gifts and their "light" shine in the world. Thanks so much for making this video, I really enjoyed it, and ALL your amazing creations.😺
i love this so much, the Piece that is my favorite is the photobooth style photos at the end with Heathcliff, Ember and the Banshee. I Love the expressions!
i had no idea about her paintings, just when i thought she couldnt get anymore talented, she always surprises me, i wanna be that kind of artist, she truly is a master artist
THESE ARE ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!!!!! I LOVE THEM!!! As a huge art fan, I literally cannot express my love of these! These are beautiful, and I always love seeing artists draw their 'babies' in different styles or clothes from the regular character design. Man, this gave me a bunch of inspiration 😂💕
This is sooo cute~ Thanks so much for taking the time to showcase all the art 💜 Ngl I thought it was pictures of his family but it being him through the ages makes so much more sense Lol
I love how many different styles that you implemented into the gallery and in such a short time frame. Talk about talent and dedication from you and your husband! Also I totally headcanon Ember and Heath (I love his name but feel like he would shorten it on occasion) have that rivalry where people think they’re enemies but they’re actually great friends.
Seeing the drawings next to the references were a treat to the eyes, but your still lifes took my breath away! Katherine, you're one hell of an artist with immense talent. And to top it all off, Hubbylightful being the sweetest man to ever existed, supporting you and even helping out with his own talent as well. I loved every second of this video!!! 💗💗💗
yes yes yes!! I actually recently rewatched all of your digital paintings and trad sketch videos, and I realized that neither series had been updated for a long while, which I think is a shame. you're a wonderful painter and I love seeing your work, so this makes me really happy! I'd love to see more art videos inbetween doll videos if you have the time, because they really inspire me! that leyendecker inspired one is my favourite, so striking with all the white bg and it's fun to see you take on different styles 💚💚
Holy crap you made all of those?! I didn't give it much thought, but what little I did had me assuming you had found various pictures with similar characters online.
I would love if you could do more of these quick videos going into detail about your other works, Ive been watching that channel for years and I really enjoyed seeing your other stuff it's all so beautiful. It would be fun if you could make this into a small mini-series and drop some videos like this occasionally.
I'm so glad we got a little behind the scenes about the Heathcliff's gallery, the doll itself is so cool but that gallery added so much to the character, and as i said in the previous comment they are so good at evoking the era and artist they are referencing, so cool and fun to to look at!!!
These are all so wonderful! They each have their own personality and come together to tell such a fun, rich story. I loved hearing about your inspiration!
i absolutely ADORE the leyendecker and pen and ink engraving ones, they look positively stunning! i find it so wonderful how much effort is put into each and every doll and giving them their own histories. i really think that theyre all so cool!!
Those looked so amazing in the video that I watched the painting-scene multible time! Really great to see your progress there - thank you very much for sharing! 😇
The skits you have been adding to your videos just give the characters so much depth! I really loved this little behind the scenes, thankyou for sharing!
your art is always so fun to look at and experience!!! you are my favorite artist on youtube and your videos helped me through some of the hardest times in my life and i just want to say thank you for being so encouraging about art and so thoughtful! you inspire me so much and youre just amazing!!
Thanks for sharing Katherine and it is always cool to see more than your dolls. Artists r never just one thing and always luv seeing what other things spark their creativity
I will be honest, since this clip was at the very end of the video, I had already clicked away. But now I first watched the full Halloween video again and then this to fully appreciate it. Wow! I already love your dolls and your design sketches for them, but this is on another level - also the other artworks you showed from your portfolio. There is no need to be embarrassed from talking about your work - you have skill and I personally love hearing you talk! Your pieces are really stunning
You are an amazing artist! I love looking at other peoples art and i love how versatile you are. From creating dolls to successfully executing different styles of art, I am truly amazed by your talents! ❤ you are by far my favorite artist!
I wish this video had more views! I love this behind the scenes info. You put so much work into these things it’s inspiring. Thanks for giving us a special look!
Leyendecker!!! Many of my favorite paintings are by him and I've been trying to study his work again lately. Amazing work as always! Love getting to see the behind the scenes stuff and your artwork!
I loved this part of the video, it had a What We Do in the Shadows vibe that I just thought was so cool and fun! Thank you for sharing the stories behind the paintings! ❤
THESE ARE ALL ABSOLUTLY INCREDIBLE!!! im so impressed with the amount of talent you have no mater if the art style! and yiu did this all in three days!!!?!?!?! what the heck
Holy moly! I knew you're a talented artist, that kind of goes without saying. But those still life paintings at the end are stunning! J.C. Leyendecker is also one of my top favorite inspirational artists, I recognized the inspiration immediately. All of these period pieces are so fun to look at! Thank you for talking about them, I was hoping you would 🥰
Thoroughly love this. Would even be interested in a breakdown of how you were able to emulate the styles of each artist you referenced, what features you looked for, etc.
Oh what a delight! Although coming from Dollighful, guess that is not surprising. (^.^) I LOVED the brief history tour and am kinda pysched to see you old website. One of the things I love about all of your videos is listening to your inspirations and learning about different techniques. You do fantastic work and I'm so glad I found your RU-vid channel all those years (?) ago! Thanks so much for posting!
Loved this video and gained so much more insight into your vast interest of art and the styles your able to pull off with ease. Youre multi talented and its very inspiring!
omg, those are so cool! I would love to see a speed painting video of yours, seeing the progress and listen u talk about the progress or other things, I love your work and seeing more of them in other mediums would be such a awesome opportunity
These are INCREDIBLE, oh my god!! The Leyendecker is gorgeous, but I just can't look away from the immigration sketch. You're so talented, and you put so much effort into the smallest details!! I can tell you had so much fun with this
