In this video I am going to discuss about Heel Pain Injection or Plantar Fasciitis Injection in Urdu language. After waking up in the morning when patient puts his/her feet on the ground, He/She experiences severe pain in the heels. This is called Start Up Pain. Pain gets Better after taking few steps afterwards. This condition is called as Plantar Fasciitis or Inflammation of Plantar Fascia.
Plantar Fascia is a layer of connective tissue which connects base of Heel with fingers of foot on the underside. It supports the arch of foot. Inflammation of Plantar Fascia at base of heel is called as plantar fasciitis.
Patients which don't get relief from Medicines, Physiotherapy, Massage of Heel, Heel Pads etc. are advised for Corticosteroids Injection into Heel which reduces inflammation and thus patient gets better.
Inj. Depo-Medrol x 40mg is given with Inj. Lignocaine x 2mL in a 3cc Syringe into the most tender point of Heel. This Injection is a very potent method for eliminating Heel Pain.
In addition to Corticosteroids, another Injection which is injected into Heel is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Injection. Patients which don't get benefit from Corticosteroids Injection are advised PRP Injection.
These Injections are administered by Orthopedic Surgeon Only. Nurse or any other Para-Medical Staff cannot give these injections to patients.
