+MR.USA I can't even drive without a seatbelt on. O_o The only time I tried was after I had surgery for appendicitis and it felt so distracting and weird to me. I felt like I was gonna fall out of my seat! XD

The problem I have when doing this is I can't keep constant brake pressure. My brake pedal is very sensitive and if I were to press it down that much then I'd be braking way too hard and when I press it lightly I can't keep constant pressure when I try to reach for the gas pedal.

I have the same problem, it hepls to have a good brake pedal. Nice and firm a pedal you actually have to press into to get some full brakes

my pedals are set up differently so I don't do it like this.... idk what the sti is set up like but honestly if your just having fun on back roads you don't need this if you are hauling ass racing yes you should learn this it will save you time on the track do not haul ass on back roads you should be confident about every turn whatever speed you are going or else you are putting yourself at risk and or the person on the other end of that corner.

Really good video, thanks. I´ve tried it a few times in the past but a big problem is that in modern cars the brake is often extremly soft so that there is no feedback, I hate that! It´s also hard to brake at a consistent level with the heel up from the floor, not to mention hitting the gas without doing a full braking. In my own car I didn´t upgrade the brakes because that would have softened the pedal even more.

In my car it's so low that it literally hurts my ankle to heel and toe. It's also difficult unless I floor the brake. I have a bit of travel in my brake pedal, so that's how I can narrow the gap, but I can't floor the brake around every turn in trafic.

just so you know on your double clutch video the only time you need to double clutch is eather a tractor or a semi. the sincro is there so you dont have to double clutch, thats why its called a sincro cause it syncs the transmission to the engine

While I actually tend to do the double clutching pretty often, This maneuver I still can't do properly and your video surely helped me understanding it more. My only issue is just that my car pedals aren't really proper for this maneuver. But with training... Btw, I love how your engine sounds!

The amount of people complaining about him no double clutching is ridiculous. Double clutching would only waste your time, as there is no advantage on using it, and no, you will not damage your syncros by doing heel and toe downshift without double clutching. I've been driving manual for 5 years now, and using the heel and toe technique for about 4 years without double clutching, and haven't had a problem since.

Ok. I'm confused. If the clutch pedal is down then the transmission input is disconnected from the flywheel. So if you shift in that situation, what does it matter if you tap the gas. Maybe I'm stupid. Could somebody please explain?

+calum anderson It's probably about as hard as you imagine it is. Learn this and double clutching separately. Then when you're confident with both techniques it's just a matter of combining them.

+Walter Jr Alvarenga You can't be too aggressive with your synchros. If you mash the gears in your car and throw them in as hard as you can, you will see problems sooner than later. In my AT g35, I drive it in automatic and for tight turns will downshift into 2nd gear and the car jerks. How would I safely/smartly downshift it for a turn so the pull on the cars turn isn't so intense if that makes sense. I downshift into 2nd because the curb weight feels less intense to me (the driver) as I'm going around the turn.

+Abigail Brown If you have an automatic transmission, the gearbox is not designed to be used like that. However, it doesn't stop people from doing it. If you ant to make it smoother, tap the gas as you are downshifting into second. The speed of the transmission has a say in how fast this has to be done.

+siala chanhorn For the brake pressure, it all depends on how severe the turn is and how much I have to slow down. As for blipping the throttle, i'm hitting it with the right side of my right foot

Is it really ok to hit on the gas, while the clutch pedal is in the process of going down? I feel like my car's rpm goes through the rough when I do that, isn't it safer to hit the gas when the clutch is fully depressed?

Yes. Absolutely, this kid is teaching all these techniques, but whilst they may have their place; a properly and carefully driven manual transmission will last you a lifetime.

okay now for steezy advance driving.. heel toe with both heels ( 1 right on gas and left on clutch) and both feet on brake.. like keiichi tsuchiya aka the Dori King its actually pretty easy if you got the regular heel toe down packed

in my car there is quite a gap between my gas and brake pedals so I put my heel on the brake and reach my toe up to tap the bar of the gas pedal. The toe of my foot is naturally pointed outward so it's easier to have my right toe pointing to the right rather than twisting my foot in the opposite direction. plus there is a big gap between my gas pedal and the floor so if I have my toe reaching up I don't have to push the gas pedal so far down. it's difficult to explain without visuals but whoever reads this should try the toe/heel it's easier than heel/toe

hey my name is ben im using my wifes goggle account I just got my first manual car and I watched your video and was successfuly able to double clutch on all my up shifts and downshifts. my question is can you heel toe and double clutch.I've made it a practice (which im thinking is a good habbit for my tranys sake) to always double clutch is the process the same or should I just shift into gear if I heel toe

Having trouble with hill starts. I can only do it with the e brake. I was told you can stay still uphill if you balance your clutch and gas. I don't wanna do that though. Heard it wears it out so I will try heel toe instead

+So Real oh this is just for now because I'm a new manual driver. But I will learn. I'm gonna practice my hill starts without the e brake this weekend. There's a way to do it by balancing the colts and gas. I will learn that but I won't use it. That burns your clutch. The method I want to learn to use is the foot shuffle. I will try releasing my clutch to the biting point with my right foot on the brake and then switch it to gas and take off

it saves a split second of removing your foot from the brake and putting it on the gas. Yes it is essentially just quick rev matching, but if you are racing and you are getting on the power a split second more, it will save time. a single split second isn't gonna be much, but when you are doing it 20-30 times a lap, it adds up.

Unless you are on a track, i dont see the point to Heel-Toe. I learned it, but never use it because im driving just normal. And if i for some reason need to drive a bit quicker, i just shift faster. With years comes the practice...

I don't know why but the Focus ST had pedal is soooooooo low chores to the brake pedal and it didn't help when the brake pedal engages the moment you touch it, which isn't so bad for avoiding deer.
