Never ceases to impress me with how expressive he is. The entire face is so well animated, every facial movement very obviously tells you what he’s thinking and yet you only get to see half of it. Really stellar job on id’s part

That they put this much work into his face, only to cast him in a helmet for official release just shows you how much love was put into this game. ID Software deserves some real recognition for this.

I love his face when intern talks to him, you can get the feeling he likes the guy, but doesn’t show it so he is more intimidating to everyone

I love how ID animated the facial expressions of Doomguy even if most wouldn't notice it in-game. Also, Intern is best boy.

I love when Doomguy stands patiently waiting for them to spawn the Dark Lord so he can kill him

“You are given the honor to serve the gods...yet again.” Look at Doomguy’s face in this moment. You see the gears turning. It’s right here he knows _exactly_ what’s going to happen if he goes along with the Seraphim and decides to make his own plan.

Doomguy after seeing himself as the dark lord: Finally a worthy opponent! Our battle will be legendary!

Dude. His face when Samur says "your 'gifts' are owed to us now." He's like "Sam I don't owe you SHITE." I love that they actually bother to animate the rest of his face, probably because they knew people would hack into the game and remove the helmet anyway lol

The one thing I love is the fact that Hayden, without a physical form is effectively useless. Think about it; Doom 2016, he spends the majority of his time coercing you as his pawn to get to hell and grab the crucible, to then steal it off you "for the greater good". In Eternal, you grab his pasty broken ass where he spends most of his time berating you over your actions, and NOW, the lil shit thinks just because you gave him his body back and playing his game means he owns you. Lol. No.

Everyone when doom guy brings the demon king orb: EVACUATE NOW that one individual : so you want to go to Udark?

I love the irony in the story. The doomslayers entire existence now is his hatred for the demons and all who support them. He hates them so much he wants to resurrect their leader just so he can kill him. But then when he finally does it, he finds out that the living embodiment of all he hates most is LITERALLY HIMSELF. God I love ID software and their poetic storytelling

*I loved how much god of this universe is very wise* "Your actions are İrreversible." He doesnt stop slayer as he knows slayer wants to end evil. He is simply warning slayer as there is no going back. And Dark lord of hell is very strong. He simply asks "Are you sure ?" He trusts slayer but he wants to see if slayer truly trusts himself.As this is a difficult task, even for slayer. "It is not required to kill him." God knows Seraphm is acting like a douche, and he deserved that beating. But killing him after this point is unnecessery, he is showing mercy yet letting them fight in The first hand letting Seraphm see that Doom Slayer is powerful and capable of doing the task at hand.

3:22 You can see how pissed off he was when Hayden said that he will serve the Gods again. He made a mistake serving the Khan Maykr that caused him his fellow Night Sentinels, his king, and his mentor. He doesn't want to serve anyone anymore, hence his trust issues with everyone he meets.

I think the moment the seraphim says to him "your gifts are owed to us now" is when the slayer realizes what's really going on you can even see it on his face. He gets a little angry and is probably thinking to himself "I don't owe you anything". I'm not sure when during the game but hayden starts getting really cocky with the slayer I can't remember the exact words but I remember thinking while hearing them "why the hell is he talking like that to him, like some master to his dog when he's misbehaving" the slayer must have been thinking the same during the whole time hayden was speaking to him. The seraphim saying "you owe us now" was the straw that broke the camels back.

Well... Deathmatch it is, then.

Id love it if when the Intern says "ready for launch, Doom Guy", the developers would sneak in a small smirk on The Slayers face.

Makes sense now why they teased his face now in this game and why he has an actual model. I'm also definitely calling the dark lord the anti-slayer.

He looks like the marine in doom 3, but in a proper doom game

I'm so glad that the Doom Slayer's face is not just a jpeg inside his helmet. It just goes to show how much love and passion Id put into this game

The slayers face is so well animated for just having a helmet on all the time, they bothered to make him look angrier whenever samur would bother him

Seeing them actually have Doomguy emote under his helmet is so cool. They didn't need to do that butt they still did. Doomguy has so much character despite hardly ever speaking

This really makes me hope that we get a skin for Doomguy that doesn’t have the helmet, because they put so much work into animating his face, just to not show it

Love how this was done. You can't even tell that a mod was used. It looks like it was part of the game. I like the way that he looks. The skin looks like actual skin and he looks healthy. Not death warmed over.

The Intern is one of the best side characters in the entire game. Glad he got more time in the DLC.

Man, doomguy's character development is so interesting! Everything about his face expressions just tells you how he feels about everything, you know his personality and yet he hasn't said a single word! What a wonderful job, devs

Talking to the Doom Slayer like he owes you anything after he has fought hell for ages.. that's not a good idea. Even if you were to have no ill intentions behind it. He simply does not take chances with entitlement as that is the first path to damnation. Now showing respect to him and helping him, now that's how you play the game. The Intern has got it right. Building a friendship with the strongest entity in the universe. I have a feeling that the Slayer would now be willing to go to hell and back to protect the guy. Literally.. preferably billions of times.

If you listen closely when Hayden disappears you can kind of hear snippets of Olivia's theme from Doom 2016.

To make you see and feel the way the Slayer thinks and feels without saying one word is just so fucking hard. It is awesome how every expression is animated with quality, even tho we don't see it. I really hope someday they release the Helmetless Slayer skin officially.

I like how the ARC Supervisor (not the intern) stands on top of the stairs all triumphantly like he's in charge.
