Is anyone else wondering how people casually fit their whole hand in to just pinch the rim?

Ok I was just in the situation so I want to share how I got it out. First, yes, I relaxed and focused on deep breathing. Next, I got in the shower and squatted then going in with my nail facing up (toward the ceiling vs hooking) I dug in deep and hooked my finger inside of the cup and pulled it out. While in there, I imagined being able to pull it out and mentally said affirmations. If you’re going through this, don’t freak out because you can always go to the doctor to get it removed. It also probably means that you have a high cervix and should try something like the lummie disc or hello disc with strings to pull it out

I followed advice from a comment on Reddit after struggling to get it out for awhile. I inserted my thumb over the top of the disc, so it hooked the inside of the bowl, and pulled it out. I was in a squat position and hooked my thumb in it as I breathed out very deeply.

I’ve been trying to get this out of me for 22 hours. Oh it’s been leaking, but won’t actually come out lol. If I ever manage to do this I’m never putting it in again. Great product y’all, money I’m glad I spent /s/

For some people, the disc is leak-free and comfortable right away, and for others, there is a learning curve that can just depend on the unique anatomy of the user. Mastering a menstrual disc comes with the opportunity to fully understand your internal anatomy as well as your external anatomy. Much like tampons, most new users don’t master everything on their first try and can take 2-3 periods to get the hang of it. Removal can be the steepest part of the learning curve for some people; this is normal and we get it! We always happy to troubleshoot, replace or refund your disc against our guarantee. 😊

NEVER leave the disk for more than 8-10 hours!!!! The longer you allow blood to stagnate in your body, the higher the risk of a toxic choc. I‘m a huge fan of such discs, but please girls, don‘t play with your life!!! Toxic choc exists with every method allowing blood to stagnate (tampon, cup, disc) but you can drastically reduce the risk by simply emptying your disc frequently. Remove the disc every 4-6 hours, but NEVER leave it for 12h or more!!!! If it gets stuck, push as if you wanted to pooh while grabbing the disc with a finger. Or use discs with a system that eases the removal 😊

If this brand would make a a pull string it would be so much better, this is what I'm actually looking for in discs on the market,🙏

I have NEVER been able to hook my finger up under the rim. My wrist doesn't bend like that!! I always have to break the seal from the top down and then yank to pull it out. It's ALWAYS messy, which is why I always do it in the shower.

Would u guys be designing a disc that has three removal notches so that when it rotates, it is still relatively easier to grab? I’ve only been able to use the small size disc from saalt comfortably and rlly struggles with taking it out

Just bought this.... NEVER AGAIN! The angle that this demonstration shows, is someone FRONT FACING INTO THE VAGINA! But for someone who is coming from above/downward, which all women are🙄, it's not that easy with wrist/finger movement. My disc is too high and strongly sunction for over 24 hours! I can only feel the bottom...a ring would have been nice to have to unplug this thing. Now, I'll have to spend unnecessary money at the gyno, who will get it out, b/c she'll be forward/ downward facing into my 🐱.😒

Hello fellow high cervix friend! Understably this has probably disgusted you but please know there are disc's for our clan! The Hello disc has pull tabs so does the Lumma. The Flex cup also has a cool tampon like puller the 1st of its kind I believe. Also, there's always cloth pads or sea sponges. I'm here cause my salt disc is unreachable to me I love the premise of these products but I think a lot of the well meaning manufacturers take for granted we're all thin, highly flexible vegan ballerinas. Hah! I'm plus size with short digits and a high cervix. No siree Bob. Can't reach it.

agreed, the way they demo it isn't accurate at all... I can only get my discs out easily and comfortably if they have a string or pull tab. I got rid of any that didn't after trying for a full day only to not be able to reach the rim at all with any of my fingers. it was so far up and so slippery I couldn't even get finger behind the rim to tip it down then pull it out, and couldn't push up through the basin as my cervix was in the basin... I literally had to lube up 3 fingers to get the damned thing out, it was slightly traumatizing... never again will I use one without a pull tab

@@staceyp1785 everyone's anatomy is different. The important thing is to be open to trying various angles and techniques. If can be difficult to remove the disc if you are constipated or need to evacuate your bowel. While the removal notch is helpful for many, most menstrual discs on the market don't have a removal notch or pull tab. You can simply hook your finger over the rim to pull out as well. The important thing is to give yourself grace. The learning curve is steeper for some people, and that's okay. We're here to assist every step of the way.

I have trouble using my cup because I have a wrist problem, so it hurts due to the severe angle, how far up I need to get to grasp it, and bit of pressure needed to use. Do you think the disc will be a better option considering that or will it not really be different?
@saaltco

With the disc, you may be able to remove it with just one finger and not have to contort your hand in the same way! :)

Hi Teresa - some people experience a learning curve when they first start out with reusable period products like cups or discs. Mastering a cup or disc comes with the opportunity to fully understand your internal anatomy as well as your external anatomy. We have many resources on our RU-vid Channel for disc insertion, wear, and removal, as well as helpful coaches standing by to assist at sayhey@saalt.com. Having a challenging time removing the disc can happen to people with a high cervix and/or short fingers. Removal can be the steepest part of the learning curve for some. We offer additional resources on disc removal if you email sayhey@saal.com with #removalmagic in the subject line. We hope this helps. 😊

Where you able to pull it out? I can’t! My fingers can’t even touch the rim. My fingers are also not very long so I think that’s making it harder
