Literally quit a construction job over this exact situation 😂 worked with boss man for a year then the foreman position opened up and instead of anyone that was already working there getting the job, boss man hires a car salesman as the new foreman and expects me to train him 😂 handed the car salesman my job keys and said have fun!😎✌️
Why would anyone work ABOVE their pay for no extra pay? That's just stupid. Team or not, I'm not doing more than I'm being paid for anymore. Too many companies will take advantage of that to put more money in the desk pushers' pockets.
“I would rather bare knuckle box a polar bear in the arctic circle , mid shit , with 30 inches of snow on the ground before I go over there and have one of those sparky’s say good job helper” - Roscoe the legend
Ricky and Roscoe are 100% correct I worked as a machinist with the RR. If you so much as took a wire loose or anything remotely to do with a pipe the electricians and pipefitters were up in the office throwing a fit with management that you're taking their work! I will sit around and twiddle my thumbs at home before helping do their work!
I'm sure the union B.A. would have a stroke if he found out a scab was helping the plumber instead of getting another guy out there from the hall. Ricky and Roscoe just have to drop a dime to the hall.
This skit makes me glad to work in a small residential electrical company. If I need blocking I use my own damn saw and make it myself (with the carpenter’s material) and nobody needs to complain about work stealing or any other big site bs. One time there was too much dirt on the floor for me to set up the laser level right so I swept it to the other side of the room and the carpenters took a picture😂.
I feel this in my soul, I only started my own company because I was tired of doing 4 people's job for the price of 1. I quit and the owner never could replace me and ended up selling his restaurant not even 8 months later.
Ricky does have a point. When different trades begin to intermingle, bad things can happen. I found out last year that the lighting guys are the same way. Guys working in-store cannot go outside to do work, even if the lights are ON the store itself.
