I work with PFG customized, the video you were watching was from Performance food service. Which is one of the smaller branches of PFG, we don't have lift gates and we do more team driving, even though you come home every day. And the cases per day is usually no less than 900 with a minimum of 5 stops. Accounts like cracker barrel & red lobster are always assisted where they staff help with taking in the packages, and they scan everything off the truck. I must admit you can easily have a 15 hour day. At my domicile a lot of those routes you will be leaving the state, driving anywhere from 1-4 hours away from base before you get to the first stop. We work 4 days a week with Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday off. It can be a little tough but I'm learning to enjoy it 💪🏾.

Easily have a 15 hour day is right. May have a 20 hour day. Also means you are delivering off duty. Illegal and shouldn’t be driving so sleep deprived. Trans manager at PFG told me that her drivers get 4 hours of sleep a night and that’s just what it is. Illegal? Unhealthy? Allathat. On the flip side I did about 18k in 2 months at pfg. It was clear to me a work life balance was more important than the checks. Like today I worked 5h 45 min on my route for GFS. Some PFG days would be 5h 45m to get to the first delivery. Just a little 2 cents

The videos are great man 💯. I’m a new driver out of CDL school and I had got denied from Sysco with a super clean MRV but in the end it was a blessing in disguise. Got hired with GFS and start Monday in the Central Florida area! I’d be lying if I said your videos weren’t a contributing factor in applying to GFS. Keep the hustle up and excited to be part of the fam 🙌🏼

I got denied from Sysco back in 2019 which was my first year of having CDL as well. Only because I didn’t have my hazmat and tankers endorsement on me (though I passed the test but wasn’t updated in the system). They had me doing the interviews and questions through my PC. If I recall.. They were offering around $25 an hour. Apparently they handle a lot of private family own restaurants, especially ones with steps! Don’t take my word for it, but I seen that on their videos plus I will drive past so many other those trailers! I ended up working for PFG! It was chaos there at that time, especially during Covid! But thank God, I got my first year in and left instantly! They always have me working with all kinds of random people, and most would be hella dirty!

I got a question for you guys I got Job opportunity for Sysco and directly with Dollar General here in Florida, just wondering what would be the decision? I dont mind touch freight as I been working for FedEx Ground for 3 years.

What size of the trailer driver pulling? Is the truck and trailer already hooked up ready to go? Do the drivers get the same route?

Thanks bro..They get paid biweekly from what I’ve been told by PFG drivers in my area.
