Very good video. No extra talking...Right to the point, good examples, good visualizations. tennis pros should watch. Many have a tendency to take five minutes to say something that should take 15 seconds.

Well explained technique at least for me. Perhaps add some more thought on CCD strategy i.e. more on where to aim, how low to clear the net, when to speed up. Nice job.

Yeah I got a legit stand for my iPhone so I can do that now. I think they're helpful so I'm going to keep doing it.

Aloha PK...I never get tired of dinking. It's FUN and challenging. You mention "dead dinks". I actually have more trouble with those than the ones with spin. Anyone else? Thanks again for a great teaching video that gets right to the heart of effective dinking. :)

Yeah it’s super fun! You have trouble with dead dinks? Can you explain why? Would love to hear.

@@PickleballKitchen Good question, I love playing off the topspin or slice "energy" of an opponent's shot. That seems easy for me. When the ball is just hanging there or "dead", I'm anticipating spin or something to "move against." It's not there, and I don't put as much into the shot as needed. it only happens with dinks. Perhaps it's much like when returning a hard serve, all you have to is stick your paddle out and it goes on back to your opponent. If they serve "light and high", the receiver has to do more with the shot. That's the best I can do to explain. I'm working on it though, and getting better at being more "in charge" of the exchange. Thanks again!!

Thank you for the informative video! Just out of curiosity, what skill level are you? What level do you recommend I try learning the topspin dink?

My pleasure. I play with anyone, but 4.5/5.0 play is the most fun for me. I think anyone should start at least trying it at any level. There's nothing wrong with dabbling in it to see what you think. But if it starts to frustrate you, put it on the shelf and save it for another day of practice.

Just a quick suggestion for your videos.....can you find some 2-tone balls to show off the spin? I think it would add some insight into the way the ball is moving with a flick of your wrist. It would also show how the 'dead-dinks' just sit there after they bounce.
