Watching your videos should be mandatory for all sales reps to learn the proper way to present a vehicle to a prospective buyer.

Dave I bought a 2018 2.4 liter AWD Santa Fe. I'm 6.8 and its pretty comfortable. My son that's 6.3 and 16 years old fits in the back because the back seat reclines and is fairly comfortably for him on short trips I know you dont do off road on the 2.4 but my Santa Fe got me out of a sticky situation. No rocks but wet grass and mud and a pretty decent incline I was able to get out. Thanks for what you do Bro.

I have this same 2017 Santa Fe Sport and LOVE it! It's a great vehicle with tons of features. The 2.0L Turbo engine is wonderful and has lots of low end torque. Everything is built very well and tight on it and it is very quiet with hardly any wind noise when driving down the road. I highly recommend it!

Dave - I think the Santa Fe Sport is a midsized crossover, the Tuscon would be the compact crossover.

As always, excellent and comprehensive review. I have this car ''ordered'' (as much as Hyundai does factory ''orders''). Pearl white/grey leather, 2.0T Ultimate Tech AWD. First week of August is latest estimated delivery. After 6 Silverado LTZ Z71's for work I am switching to a much smaller vehicle in retirement. Your videos on the various vehicles were a huge help in deciding. Thanks!

We leased our new Hyundai Santa Fe Sport Ultimate AWD Turbo and love it! It has a great stylish design and with the Tech package and all the bells and whistles it's a great vehicle. Northern Utah has lots of snow the AWD will come in handy. This is our 3rd Hyundai SUV and we love this one the most. Great job Hyundai!

I just bought a 2017 pre-owned fully loaded Santa Fe Sport, just like this one, for $24,000. It's in immaculate new-like condition. Only 50,000 miles on it. It's absolutely beautiful 😍. Don't buy new, buy pre-owned. I saved $13,000 and let someone else eat the depreciation. It's a fantastic SUV.

@@deborahseymour4659 We got one used, low mileage, 41k or so, and after a few thousand miles we love the car although it's already drinking oil like a 2-stroke. I see some sort of warranty claim in the future!

I bought the base model Sport, and love everything about it. I’m actually getting 25-28 mpg routinely. The ride is very comfortable, and the screen location is ( to me) in a preferable location to the newest model. ( The new one sits above the dash. And yes I know why they moved it there, for the, heads up ergonomics). Also, love the climate control knob. Large dial, provides rapid adjustment and is easily found while driving. No one will break any acceleration records in this model, but it has all the power needed to enter interstate flow, with little effort. With scheduled maintenance, I believe this vehicle should reach 200k with no problem. I’ve owned Mazda’s for 20 plus years because they were a great value. This was thousands less, than others in it’s class. Here’s hoping my calculations were right, and perhaps the S. Koreans’ are approaching the Japanese, for reliability at a reasonable price. 58k on the odometer and all systems have been flawless. If I remember correctly, the safety rating on this model was also very good, relative to all vehicles in this class. Thanks for the overview.

I am looking at this, the Lexus NX and the Discovery Sport for my wife. Yes, I know the price points are all different. I have had 2 Hyundai's recently and love them. Best bang for the buck. Lexus is a Toyota, so should last awhile (I had a 2006 GS350), the Disco has a Ford engine, but not sure about reliability on the rest of it. Still undecided. But I love this refresh.

Thank you for the video, my wife and I are looking at buying a Santa Fe sport. How is the ride? And will the back fit a wheelchair without lowering the seats? Thank you
@ravenjames3873
@ravenjames3873 6 лет назад
JL 103: the ride is pretty good in the Santa Fe Sport, but it is a sport tuned suspension so you will feel and hear some road noise. but it's nothing serious. compared to cars from 10 yrs ago if you bought a car with a sport tuned suspension, you would feel everything and the ride would be choppy as hell. as far as a wheelchair goes, im not sure it would fit in the Santa Fe sport or not. you would have to go to a Hyundai dealership and check one out to see whether or not it would fit, and as i mentioned the sport tuned suspension you may not like the firm ride. cars now a days have better suspension set ups, but they still have that firm ride to them. there's some other good crossovers out there that have a better ride quality. since you have a wheelchair, you could check out the actual Santa Fe. that has more room, and it has a better ride quality. the Toyota RAV4 has a very good ride, as well as the Highlander. you also have the Nissan Rogue as well as the Pathfinder, those have a very good ride to. Honda with there new CRV would be pretty good, and then you have the Mazda CX-5 and CX-9. you just have to look around, and don't feel embarrassed by taking a look at a minivan. the Honda Odyssey, and Chrysler Pacifica are two very good examples. Mazda is the only company that i know of that makes a good sport tuned suspension.

So I have this exact model (same color too), and I've been averaging 24.6 MPG, which is quite impressive compared to what the sheet says. Also, I would say that the Sport is larger than the CR-V/RAV4 size. It is more comparable to the Ford Edge in size.

It is and i would NEVER put that out for this vehicle. However, i like the vehicle A LOT and think the lower model trims with the a few "add-on" would be MORE then sufficient for most buyers. If your truly wanting and more importantly can AFFORD a $40k vehicle. You should be looking at an Audi, Lexus, or Acura.

It's a 2.0 liter four. That's not massive.
@iatsd
@iatsd 8 лет назад
+Charles (ThousanWhite) your got that completely back to front. it's a smaller engine than most. most are 2.4 or 2.5 litres in the US models. heck, the non-turbo 2litre Outlander Sport gets better mileage than that thing, as does the 2.4l Outlander - and the Outlander weighs about the same.

Question to Everyman & All... First, please do NOT interpret the following as a slam against this car. If you want to do that, please troll elsewhere. My wife and I were considering a Sport, so we rented a '17 Santa Fe Sport (from Enterprise) for two days to get an idea as to what they're like. We thought this was exactly what we wanted, based upon a Hyundai Santa Fe we'd driven four years ago. We returned the car to Enterprise before the end of the first day. Really disliked it, and here's why: 1) Engine/tranny - the power was weak unless you put your foot into it. Noticeably difficult to apply the power compared to many other vehicles we've driven. 2) Brakes - sucked. We noticed that, for example, as you approached a stop, it took increasing amounts of pressure to get it to slow down, then it would REALLY slow down. Brake modulation for smooth stops? Forget it.3) Rattles - the passenger seat, seatbelt harness, and a few other points were shaking, rattling, etc on some four lane roads that were relatively smooth. the car screamed cheap and old. To summarize the above: it seemed that the brakes, engine & transmission were all trying to do their own thing instead of being designed to work together. Like trying to control a bunch of wild kids in a day care. Have you ever jumped in a car you've never driven, fired it up and took off, and you almost instantly adjusted to it in your driving like a hand in glove? Oh baby, this Sport was NOT one of those! One area where we has expected some issues (from past years of SF Sports) and didn't was the steering. While it was a bit numb (compared to even an '05 Camry), it tracked fairly well going down the road, and in my "empty parking lot test" where I put a car through it paces going in & out of tight areas, it wasn't bad at all. Handling really wasn't evaluated that much because we disliked the car so much, but there were no surprises here, either. Now - my question to all: Yes, I know I had a rental car, though a SUV with only 12k in Florida has had an easy life. Yes, I know it was a 'strippo', and not the level of trim and options we would want. But - have any of you experienced what we have in your vehicles, or is it worth going to a Hyundai dealer and test driving another Sport equipped like we want?
