Which is the wildest thing about Basketball HOF. If Karl Malone got in easily anyone with atleast 20k points and a few successful playoffs runs can get in to.
14 time All-NBA, 14x All-Star, 4x All Defensive, 2x MVP....17 seasons for Utah with no more than 2 games missed...10 straight seasons averaging 25ppg+....basically 12 straight seasons of 10rpg.....not many other guys in the building that can say that
@@TRJ2241987 statistically he's 1st ballot, but if they wanna punish CWebb for a racist college rule how they not gonna punish Malone for knocking up a minor when he was in college?
@@fun364 because one has something to do with basketball, and one does not. If you do enough research on your sports heroes, you will often find they are disappointing people, often when relating to sex or family. You can bash Larry Bird for abandoning his daughter. You can criticize Julius Erving to allow his sons to wind up alcoholics and drug addicts. You can spend all day putting people in the dirt for their mistakes. But then you wouldn't have much of a Hall of Fame. If you want to evaporate Malone's basketball stats, then you might as well wipe out Stocktons since they were all associated with Karl. And I guess you take away two of Jordan's titles, because they happened against Karl....
@@thejrodshow7679 Grizz and Raptors had some nice ones. I still never saw LeBron in a 90s sky blue Cav Jersey. That was their main Jersey in the 90s. Terrell Brandon played the all star game in it
Basketball hall of fame is kinda similar to WWE hall of fame. Anybody with a bit of success can make it there, but if higher ups hate you for some reason, you gon need the undeniable success to get selected.
Undeniable numbers dont even matter. Its plenty of folks who are still waiting on that call. Look at the NFL. Guys with the numbers get overlooked all the time. Its disgusting.
1: He traveled b4 the Time out. 2: Michigan was down b4 the time out. 3: The university of Michigan doesn't count those games. They NCAA works for them as they do for all universities. 4:The rest of his teammates admitted they took money-Chris initially did not
@@joesakic91 Webber should not have to wait as long as he did to get accepted in HOF..... period. He had a better career than many who are already HOF members. Art Monk and Drew Pierson also took to long.
@@MrDrew2121 Fair, but Art Monk and Drew Pearson eventually got in. As for C-Webb, the HOF critics will still yap about his Ed Martin scandal in Michigan that cost the Fab Five their accomplishments and no NBA Finals appearances, but he should get in regardless. Ditto for Ben Wallace who has an NBA title and DPOY's.
I saw that Fab Five documentary. I didn't see it as Jalen Rose making himself the best player and leader of that team. To me it appeared more like a brotherhood.
Probably my all time fav player! Webber was straight beast!!! He'll get in the HOF one day.... everyone knows it's just a matter of time. The guys already in all say the same. A healthy, prime CWebb is as good as it gets on the block in my eyes. Great video as usual
Chris Webber does not really get the respect that he's due, He was one of the first big man I ever seen take the ball coast to coast & pass the way he could but I do believe after that championship game something happened mentally to him basketball wise tho
Yea agree it seem like in clutch moments in playoffs with kings he didnt really want ball in his hands probably nervous of making another mistake where as bibby was the guy they went to in those moments
I ain't gne lie cwebb was nasty, changed the game and pf position, then came kg and tim Duncan after him. Cwebb may be the best passing pf of all time, if not he the most flashiest. Walking double double, he should be in the hof. Even without the fab five. NBA resume better than most.
I really appreciate the content you create. I grew up watching most these guys...Salute King 💪🏾💯. If you get a chance, and haven’t done so already, you should do a Stunted Growth on “The Wizard” Walt Williams....he definitely should have been a superstar in the NBA.
One of my top ten favorite players growing up. There is really no logical reason why C-Webb isn't in the Hall of Fame. So what he lied about taking money. It isn't like it was a murder trial. Hopefully he finally gets in and him and Jalen Rose bury the hatchet. If Shaq and Kobe(RIP) can then those two should as well.
Even if the NCAA doesn't want to pay players directly, they should be able to profit from their own nam and likeness. To forbid them for m doing so is the real in america injustice. I applaud Webber for getting paid ASAP. Webber's merits as an individual player clearly merritt being in the HOF. And he'd be in there already if he spent his prime playing for better franchises than Washington and Sacramento. Sacramento got robbed in the 2002 playoffs. They outplayed the Lakers. And as a young basketball fan, that was the first series in which I recognized an officiating bias against the less popular team.
Great Story regarding my Detroit HOF Chris Webber.I love that you have the best sports commentary ever!!!!You was totally honest about Chris Webber's Career.Much love for your podcast! The fave five was amazing!!!!
Always enjoy these stories and after watching your own SG feature I have additional respect for you not only as a storyteller, but as a ball player and inspiration to basketball fans everywhere. With that said, I'd like to offer 5 for the future, apologies if their story has been told already: 1) Jalen Rose 2) Isaiah Whitehead 3) Erick Barkley 4) Terry Dehere 5) James Forrest Keep the stories coming and THANK YOU for everything you do for the game of basketball.
Props to you JC. I always stop whatever I’m doing to listen to you drop sound/thorough knowledge on the game we love so much. I’ve withdrawn from viewing the NBA throughout the past two seasons for my own reason due to ethics, however, you’re hoop content is well crafted and intriguing and it fulfills my basketball interests. Your channel fills the void of so many aspects of hooping that are neglected or taboo. Much respect to you my brother. Peace!
C-Webb Deserves To Be In The HOF Period. He Was The Best Player On That Fab 5 Team. It’s A Shame He Was Penalized For Accepting Money As A Teenager/Child. Coming From Poverty We All Need The Extra Help.
I’m so glad he’s gonna be inducted now real ones know what Chris Webber was and was robbed of a 2002 championship from that 1999-2003 a top 5 player arguably after shaq,Kobe,Duncan,KG, and or iverson
Jermaine was overrated...all he had was that midrange, and shot in the low 40's in percentage as a BIG MAN. (Was a great defender/shot blocker though....)
As a kid, I had his Wizards jersey, as well as Grant Hill's Pistons jersey. As a lifelong Michigan fan, he's always been on my radar. He'll get in the Hall one day.
Kings got robbed in 02 and he blew his knee out 1st round in 03 when kings were best team in NBA for 2nd year in a row. Should have at least 1 ring. Kings were special at that time. Way more exciting than anything being played today.
I believe that his college situation alone is the reason why he is not in the Hall of Fame; he got enough information on his NBA resume to be eligible. Can you do a story on Duke's great and 76'ers GM Elton Brand, Auburn's Human Highlight Film Chris Porter, and Jarrett Jack?
Coach Juwan Howard proves History are very stubborn facts! The Fab Five can never be erased. I'm from Detroit this is my home boy and I know both Chris and Jalen it hurts to see this.
Great video. The college players are offered a 4 year full ride. People always either ignore that or minimize it. If a player with a full ride blows out his knee on the first play in freshman year and career is over- they still get the full scholarship.
@@KyleSee are you sure? I remember when he got drafted in him being compared to Ginobili was never brought up that night are ever. But he was nice it sucks injuries ended his career early. Did lead the league in total assists once. So kind of like ginobili but without the quickness and scoring ability
Props to him finally getting in. But Stunt #4 why it took so long: 2002 "Sacramento Queens." The way that squad choked. Just remember, STERN and DONOGHY were not on the back of Peja Stojakovic's jersey, when he shot that airball, in the closing seconds of game 7. Killed that whole team legacy.
It's the basketball HOF. It's crazy that he isn't in it..Webber was ahead of the game..his ability at the 4, man, outside of injuries is up there with the elite..His commentary is trash though.. even without college his HS accomplishments, NBA accomplishments are enough.. the Timeout was crazy, but he traveled 1st. Always wondered how him and shaq would've worked together, their skill sets matched..
Bro he and Shaq together! Unfair. Yea you're right. Webber was ahead of his time. He'd be a superstar today. He gotta get in eventually man. I can't vision a HOF without him in it. At least 1 fab 5 guy
Webber was probably the only 6’10 power forward that had finesse. He was a silky smooth player that made it look easy. I don’t think the scandal of his youth is the only reason he’s not in the HOF. He had good seasons in the NBA but nothing that really stood out like the winning the scoring title, MVP, leading the league in FG % or leading his team to a championship. Just being an all star isn’t good enough to get into the HOF. Damn I miss the NBA from the 90’s.
Where did you find the pic of the Top Five players in Michigan that year...lol. Who can name them all at the 4:29 mark... Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Vashon Lenard... and the other two players...
My favourite bball player (beside Mitch Richmond)!!!! *pressing play*. Just finished watching it. That was well put together bro. Right on the money! Sidenote: can you do one on Lavor Postell from St John’s and Kevin Freeman from Uconn please! Thanks. Happy new year to you and yours. Keep doing your thing! Riki P. ...out!
Another great one and Sac was my favorite team back then from Jwill to Bibby and Bobby Jackson I loved those teams in high school selfless basketball at its finest
Chris Webber is my favorite all around best power forward of all time he has the height strength talent he will be in the hall of fame he's just to good. He would have gotten two rings if it wasn't for the Lakers and fisher and horry hitting all of those threes in the Western conference finals. Go CWebb much luv.
He just didn't play long enough. His potential was hall of fame, and he had a big impact in just four or five years. They already put too many players in, but he just didn't play long enough.
Webber been a hall of famer in the streetz... he did what he had to and provided for his family like any real one would have done in his situation! The only problem was he got caught! #getithowyoulive #webber
