@@djbhe did you check out his stats with Washington? He revolutionized the PF position. Before there was a Rasheed Wallace, Kevin Garnet, Dirk, Tim Duncan, etc there was C Web!!! Probably the best passing PF ever.
@@stephonwilliams5232 you ain’t even watch the video😂😂 dude just said he made it out of the first round with the Rockets, but Metta World peace was debatably better.
@@From_Here_To_Here I remember that season when they made it to the 2nd round the camera would show TMac's sad facial expression while sitting in street clothes watching his team grind it out
I feel like they're just giving out HOF nowadays. Alot of these guys are really good, but they don't belong in the HOF. The HOF is supposed to be the best of the best or for players with impressive accomplishments. If you even have to ask if a person belongs in the HOF, it means they don't.
T-mac was Kevin Durant before Durant stylistically wise some can argue T-Mac was a better scorer the Durant. Also remember McGrady was injured when his team made the playoff run where he was sitting on the bench in Houston. Also when the Spurs went to the finals Tracey was on the bench 0 playing time. Dude technically never passed the first round on the court before.
It doesn't matter how much talent he had, it is what he did with it. It doesn't matter how much potential he had if he didn't achieve it. Kobe's nodge is the achievement people reference and using injuries to excuse choking in the 4th. If we use the criteria he uses on Garden, he is mid
T Mac, Vince, Melo, LeBron, and Kobe era in the early 2000s to mid 2000s was the coldest era next to Jordan and them frfr. Everybody know McGrady was better than all of em before he got hurt...
This pains me to see as a raptors fan, in his final season with the raptors 1999-2000 TMAC was just starting to peak before he entered his prime a year later, which sadly was when he landed in Orlando.. so we lost him at the worst possible time:( 99/-00 stats: 15.4PPG 3.3AST 6.3RBD 1.1STL 1.9BLKS (impressive for a SF, also career high) A year later he jumped from 15.4PPG to 26.8PPG!!! What a beast man, one of the best to ever lace them up, sadly injuries held him back. Still we were blessed to have a young tmac for 3 seasons!! What could of been though man!!
IF T-Mac is a HOFer, he definitely didn't deserve to be 1st ballot. Granted, injuries to him and Hill/Ming played a truly significant role in his growth. However, a scoring title, 7 All-Star appearances, and ONE 2nd round appearance in the playoffs is NOT a HOF resume. Dominique Wilkins (who was arguably T-Mac before T-Mac was T-Mac) had scoring titles, All-Star/NBA appearances, and also deep playoff runs. But had to wait until his 2nd year of eligibility? Doesn't add up.
Wow. You must be really desperate for clicks, because this video was "clickbait." What were you, like 8, when Tracy McGrady was drafted into the NBA? Tracy McGrady was a great player, and lasted 14 years before retiring due to injury. The only thing "stunted" is your channel. Did you ever even make it to the NBA? I don't think so. You probably never even played overseas. And, Vince Carter was NEVER better than Tracy McGrady. All he could do was dunk.
@@morty215fightclubbringyour7 maybe I explained it wrong I dont think penny or t mac are hall of Famers they both didnt do enough they both had a great run but it didn't last for long ✌
Fun fact: T-Mac only scored 18,381 total points in the regular season as an entirety. How is he a first ballot Hall of Fame player? Mitch Richmond has 20,497 regular season points. They made him wait forever to get in.
T Mac was much more well rounded. Passing, ball handling, transition buckets. Could score in bunches as few have. And fun to watch. Mitch was strictly an off guard. Though excellent and steady. Did his job.
@@jrjr9348 check macs numbers in the playoffs, before his hawks and spurs year he had a top 5 career playoff scoring average. he was great in the playoffs his teammates werent upto par. paul george has had help his entire career except 2016 playoffs.
Tmac is actually an overachiever. Mac had back problems before he was even drafted to the NBA and was actually told that that wouldn’t last more than 5 years.
Finally someone brings this up. If he'd been dropped in todays game and never won anything the perception would be different. Still one of my favorites tho
T-Mac would have THRIVED in the present NBA era. Less Physicality..No Handchecking..more emphasis on 3 point shooting..better Medicine..He would have KILLED it in today's game.
@@gabrielalele8603 it wasn't that long ago lol. That's not even the point. He never accomplished anything winning wise and his playoffs stats are scary in some games. He should be perceived as that. Him making the hall first ballot fogs it up. Like PG is much more accomplished but the perception scale will be different so some players get a magical benefit of the doubt.
@@damitrimoore : You have to right to your own opinion. Watch this video that makes a solid case for T-Mac being in the Hall of Fame: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hynZvpudNHM.html
@@adgee5401 Emphasis on SECOND TEAM. Compared to what he should have been..... Like i previously said OVERRATED. His peak year was 02-03. After that he fell off significantly.
Second team means he was among the ten best players in the league and top 2-4 at his position. Not too shabby for a player you said was plagued with injuries. If you’re calling him overrated because he made the Hall on the first ballot, then I’d agree. Not too many overrated players lead the entire league in scoring.
@@adgee5401 You just proved my point... When he was making the 2nd team selections, he was in his ORLANDO years. Underachieved in his HOUSTON years. Whether it be injuries or not, he did not deserve a 1st ballot selection. That isn't even hating, thats just facts.
In our generation it wasn't necessarily about the stats. That's this new generation who wasn't actually there to see the player play themselves so they only look at the stats. I think HOF has something to do with the stats, but it also has alot to do with the impact. There are some things that makes a legendary basketball player that doesn't show on the stat sheets. Heart, clutch, entertainment, Impact aren't on the stat sheets, which plays a major part of why people will vote you in
If you don't believe he deserves to be a first ballot Hall of Famer... lemme see If you can name any of the the Orlando Magic starting lineup that he dragged to the playoffs without using the internet then I'll be glad to agree he doesn't deserve it. 👀
@@Darrencollinsjr AI squad was 10x better than T Mac. He had 2 lock down defenders Theo Ratliff (DPOY), Mutumbo (DPOY), and actual complimentary role players that you can actually name. Granted, Eric Snow was a bum but he still had a better team than T Mac homie.
A Hall of Famer, but not 1st or 2nd Ballot as he didn't really accomplish much in his career. But we are talking about the NBA, which has Jerry West as the logo...still, when it clearly should be MJ, Magic, Kareem, Bill Russell...I could go

The only 2 other good players were Mike Miller and Darryl Armstrong... listen to that sentence and you see how much he had to do to make the playoffs. He had absolutely no help. They talk about AI and Lebron in his first stint in Cleveland but completely look over the uphill climb T Mac had.

I love the one of Grant Hill and I see our team had slot of stunted growth players I look forward to seeing more former Orlando Magic players like Reece Gaines, Steven Hunter, Matt Harping, Aaron Gordon, Michael Doleac, Jameer Nelson, Bo Outlaw, Darrel Armstrong, Nick Anderson, Dennis Scott, etc
T Mac has scoliosis, he wasn't even suppose to have such a long career and his last season playing with Vince, though Vince may have averaged more points the analyst were saying McGrady was playing better basketball.
He absolutely was a better player than Vince. In my opinion he was better than Kobe at their peaks. Nobody could deal with that height and skill. He never had that great teammate by his side, like some of the other greats. As well as he had to deal with deteriorating health.
I must admit I didn’t think he was first ballot but no one can deny he was on his way dude was talented just blew up n no one saw it coming. It was kind of James harden like one year a role player next a star but he was a an offensive weapon pull up jumper with range, dunk or layup, underrated foot work TMac had it all, but he wasn’t very good in the playoffs Orlando I can’t be too critical because he didn’t have grant or much help, but Houston he didn’t play well and also there only a few years from 00-06 of dominance and there others he retired before him who deserved it but dude was special just wasn’t first ballot but HOF yes
I feel you. T mac was my dude and at the same time, he was a little unsure of his first ballot selection. He belongs, but not first ballot although he had first ballot talent.
Tracy for sure is a 1st ballot hall of famer... he is basically KD before KD he literally stretched the floor and dominated during one of the toughest eras of the game ✊🏾‼️
@@daddyfamlittle6262 that’s a lie... They are similar in a lot of ways... unfortunately TMac never played with the two best shooters in nba history... if he would’ve ever got past LA or San Antonio when the western conference completely dominated the narrative would be different...Kobe said himself that TMac was his hardest guard so who are you to diminish that ??
I feel you, but I think thats him looking back in retrospect, some people go there while career without getting injured, you can't out train back problems
It was always that classic debate about who was the better player between him and Kobe t-Mac was that guy I’m lucky I was able to actually watch him play and not just research and watch highlights he ‘s the originator of the self ally opp respect the Mac t-Mac
Awesome vid man t-mac one of my all time fave players.... here my top 5 and I'm going to throw in a 6th man lol Chris Paul, Iverson, tmac, big KG, and Marcus camby, 6th man Jason kidd... 2 fave players right now r John wall and devin booker
T-Mac and Yao could never stay healthy together. As far as HOF, I don't think T-Mac is first ballot but based off the players that are in, he belongs. For instance, Bernard King was among the best players in the early to mid 80s but injuries held him back. King only made it to the 2nd round once. T-Mac and King are definitely HOF talents, but did not have the clear-cut HOF career they should've had. I would blame that on injuries and lack of team leadership.
Ralph Sampson. Injuries stunted his growth and should have been first ballot hof if he had played longer. If his overall career is not first ballot hof fame worthy, then Tmac shouldn’t have been…
Tracey was not a HOF! He had HOF talent but what did he accomplish over a long period of time that makes him a HOF? MLB is the only league that sticks to the true definition and not fandom. He would never have been a HOF in MLB with this type of nothingness accomplishments. It is sad.
I loved tmac growing up after Kobe shaq and Iverson but no way he was a first ballot he never got past first round with good Houston teams and never made players better not to say he had good Orlando rosters but he didn’t uplift them to me him and especially Ben Wallace are no way first ballet hof sorry I know I’m gonna get hate for this but I’m being honest and I love tmac ! This means when will penny or Shawn Marion get in??? Marion at least won a ring!
No. If you have to ask the question, no. I honestly don't think he should be there at all given his shortcomings. It'd be different if, like JC said, he went to college and dominated, in which that body of work is definitely on the table to help make his case for a HOF bid, but he didn't.
Tmac was more skilled than Kobe. He had everything Kobe had, but was taller, longer, a littl emore athletic and was a better playmaker....Kobe had more of a killer instinct, though.
The NBA doesn't own the Hall of Fame its called the Naismith Basketball Hall of fame the select the best players, coaches, legends, contributers that has a significant impact on the sport itself whether its highschool , college, NBA, wnba or international basketball
@@mandodelossantos2Straight hard facts, Fanboys can't explain their reasons for dumb shit, TM is not a HOF period, you have guys that played in the 80's 90's that are not in the HOF' but this highlight dunk reel is in, its so many holes in his career!
I've always said he was like a potential next level Penny hardaway and Durant before durant .if he could have stayed healthy and him not getting out of the 1st round in his prime nor Not getting 1 or 2rings,otherwise he would have got his credit or more respect as a HOF.Him playing in Vince Carter shadow almost left him stagnant...Great break down on TMac ..
Penny Hardaway was better than Mcgrady Hardaway had deeper playoff runs than mcgrady Hardaway was one of the better all around point guards in the NBA during his peak in the mid 1990s Third overall draft pick in 1993
hardaway had shaq (argubly the 3rd best player in the league when they made it to the finals) against an unconditioned jordan. tracy mcgrady was a top 5 player in the league he was a superstar till lebron's second season there were no superstar pointguards in the 90s sadly. hardaway ain't better than tmac bruh besides jordan it was mostly big man as the top 10 players in the league in the 90s if you ain't 1-7 (or atleast close in stats to the top 5 players) i don't consider you a superstar aint no way hardaway a superstar when there more than 10 players better than him in his prime if pippen ain't consider a superstar no way in hell is hardaway a superstar its like saying chancey billups better than allen iverson honestly chancey billups is better than hardaway, gets a lot a love dispute only having 3 good seasons which would be borderline allstar (in anyother era)without shaq/top seed team. shaq made it to the wcf(a stronger conference the year after on his own) literally
When I stayed in NYC I was playing pick up ball with raja bell and we was talking about basketball I know he was a great defensive player I ask him who was harder to play Defense on kobe or T-mac he said T mac was harder to guard but took plays off Kobe never took plays off and that also is what made kobe a better player he said he said tmac could of been Kobe if he work as hard. i think Tracy was madd nice and top 5 of the 2000s at SG/SF imo, but not 1st ballot HOF. i think his great years were way too short. If that's the case, Penny should be in the HOF too. Stunt #3 i think is what really killed his winning, esp in the playoffs. He was doing just about EVERYTHING lol smh

You MUST know this about me, to understand where, when and how I grew up: Born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-American (showing HOW I grew up, and why I think the way I do about things). In 1999, I made my "All Time Worst 50 NBA Players," and "Franchise Nightmare Team" for all 29 teams. What do YOU think about my friend Carl's remarks: "Come on, you HAVE to take Tracy McGrady off of your All Time Worst 50 NBA Players list!" And, "You HAVE to take Tracy McGrady off of your Toronto Raptors Nightmare Team!" I hated Tracy McGrady. Classic Irish last name.
TM' was a 1st ballot HOF' thats crazy, I watched his HOF speech, he even said himself that HE BELIEVES HE SHOULD BE IN THE HOF' that really means he knows he dont deserve to be there, but guys like Shawn Kemp, and Mo Cheeks, who lead and help teams deep in playoffs and went to the Finals and won chips' what did TM do to deserve to be in the HOF'! NO hate just help me understand...
I'm not gonna come here & HATE on T Mac, because he was most definitely a superstar in the league at 1 point & time. But I did come here to campaign for my boy C. Webb. I don't know if it has anything to do with his off the court tactics or if it's personal. But whatever the case may be, the league is totally wrong for not having Webber at the least on a HOF ballet. People are so quick to mention the GREATNESS of Dirk, Tim, & KG at the piwer foreward position for that era, yet they tend to leave C. Webb out of the discussion. How quickly they 4get of just how good C. Webb really was in college & the NBA b4 his injuries occured. There wasn't anything neither of those 3 could do that C. Webb couldn't do. & at his best, he could do most of it better than they could with style & finesse. & the only reason he's ringless & not a finals MVP is because of the MOST OBVIOUS cheating tactics probably ever witnessed in the playoffs when they faced the Lakers. & might I add, even with him being injured multiple times, he still leads all 3 of the above in EVERY major stat for their careers. Now if that's not bull💩 then I don't know what is. #CWebb2021HOF
In My Opion. If You Cant Guard The Guy ONE on ONE He's Hall oF Fame! Please! Kobe Copied T Macs Pull Up Jumper And He Coppied Dirks One Legged Fade AWsy. Now What You Got Say. Great People Don't Steal Other Peoples Moves!
he did some real historic stuff he didn't play long but just for making history with his record points in seconds he deserves hall of fame. any player who makes the record book, is hall of fame, no matter how long they played
One could argue he wasn't his team's best or second best player the one time his team got out of the first round? He didn't play in the playoffs where the snippet was shown from (his age 29 season, 2008-2009). The only time he got out of the first round he was riding the end of the bench for the Spurs in 2012-2013 after not playing in the NBA in the regular season and played in 6 games during that finals run and scored a whopping 0 points. This guy should definitely not be in the Hall of Fame. And for that matter, neither should Yao Ming.
Aye D Rose better get in. He was the best player and youngest mvp. That holds major weight especially when during LeBron prime years. T Mac resume is not better. Scoring title ain't nothing if u can't make the playoffs or team go!!!Jerry stackhouse once averaged 30!!!! Too many excuses. Just saying!!!

I think he left Orlando at the wrong time. From what I remember, he didn't want to play with d12. Tmac and Dwight combo could have been east coast Shaq and Kobe.
Mark Aguirre was a beast offensively and was a big part of the Championship team for the Bad Boys Pistons. No way Tmac is a 1st ballot HOF while Aguirre is not even in the HOF.
