I remember for most of my young life the Veyron was the fastest car in the world. These days the fastest car record switches up so much but I remember this held the record for soooo long, only to be beaten by the super sport. The only thing that came close was the Koenigsegg at about 248mph. I would love to drive one one day. What a car!

This is my all time dream car. Not the Chiron, not the Centodieci. The 2006 Bugatti Veyron. I’ve dreamed with this car since i discovered about him. What an absolute masterpiece.

I feel old now. It's hard to believe the Veyron is 12, almost, 13 years old. I still remember watching the Top Gear episode on it

The veyron is almost 20 years old.....that's crazy to think about Edit: for those saying "oH iTs NoT eVEn ClOsE tO 20"...ahem 2020-2004= 16...which is closer to 20 than 10...which therefore equates to stfu...

I knew all the stats back in the day, but I didn't know the Veyron's wheels had to be replaced after a specified distance along with the tires. I learned-thanks to the Jeremy Clarkson video-I was shocked that the Veyron weighs over 2 tons! That's the biggest front trunk I've ever seen on any rear/mid engine vehicle, that's really cool, the "divider" to avoid the trunk release regulation.

I think I may have just found my personal all-time favorite car, the original Veyron 16.4. To the gorgeous metal and Alcantara (leather for others) interior trim, to the over the top curves, to the beautifully massive W16 quad turbo wizardry, I'm honestly lost for words. The Veyron is an engineering marvel and an artistic masterpiece.

Hi Doug. The windows switches are reversed, but make sense when you think about it. They are that way so if you hold the switch and the car is rapidly accelerating, you’d naturally close the window and be safe, instead of opening it. It actually makes sense and if you take the car movement into account, you’ll notice the buttons go forward/backwards rather than up/down. And it that sense, they make sense, the switch movement is rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise. Great video! Oh, almost forgot, about the alcantara. It was a relative novelty at the time, expensive like leather, durable and (big selling feature) it doesn’t rattle and should provide a better sound isolation than leather or normal fabric (like they’d even consider fabric)👍

The sheer shock on his face when you hear the turbos spool and the engine roar and the speed just make your heart drop and your lungs collapse just seeing the speedo go from 60 to 90 to 120 and so on. The power just doesn’t know when to stop. This was the car that every kid when they played Forza Motorsport 3 and Motorsport 4 was shocked by when it was the fastest thing we ever seen.

I've got to complain with this. You gave the Veyron a 7 in styling, and you said it was never beautiful. But yesterday you gave the same 7 to the new Bentley continental GT which you called gorgeous. I dont understand the logic there

just saw my first veyron in person, which just so happens to be the first modern bugatti I've seen in person. (I've seen an antique bugatti before.) I've always thought it's a pretty car, and very iconic, but man does it speak volumes in person. or rather, it's volumes speak for themselves. it's gorgeous, magnificently crafted and i couldn't keep myself away from it. now I need to see a chiron for myself edit: seen a Pur Sport! similarly captivating. what a triumph of design and engineering

Fun Fact : Not only the Key is shared with the Passat, the frontlights as well from the Volkswagen spare parts shelf They are shared with the Skoda Superb, a midsize sedan, based on the Volkswagen Passat, made in CZ and never sold in the US. Thats the root cause for having ordinary bulbs as frontindicator lights

Interesting they have a button to open for "gas" and "oil"...but where do you put the windshield wiper fluid? I assume that's something regular drivers would want to fill up on occasion.

6:47 Doug this car actually had 3 exhaust pipes the pipe in the center and if you pause at 6:51 and you see the 4 splitters in the diffuser the 2 splitters closest to the big exhaust you can see if you look close enough beside the splitters there are 2 exhausts on each side. You can see just the tip of them.

Btw it has 3 exhausts. 2 are hidden in the diffuser.

EB 110: Has scissor doors, two fuel tanks, a “block” button which is to lock the doors, a NASCAR car style windows that open a small area and an engine that can accessible. But has no trunk of some sort Veyron: Has a trunk at the front, an alcantara -felt interior, a spoiler that can be raised with its car key, an automatic transmission that moves like a manual, and several analog gauges. But the engine itself isn’t accessible. Chiron: Has digital climate controls at the center console, the same spoiler system as the Veyron, a steering wheel that houses the 4 modes, ignition button, and launch control, the C shaped cutout on both sides and the interior dividing the seats, and has a speedometer surrounded by two digital screens housing the sat nav, stereo, and the car’s options. Divo: Has the same interior as the Chiron, has modern art like tail lights, fierce looking headlights, both that make a cool jingle when the car is locked/unlocked, has carbon fibre, bezels, has a fixed spoiler, and several air ducts at the front. Centrodieci: Is like the fusion of Bugatti Divo and EB 110. Most of its body is from the Divo and the front resembles the EB 110 grill (the horseshoe shaped duct between horizontal stripes.
