The haters commenting like they actually know me I've never met in my life. I’m not Frog. That’s a fictional character that was done in satire. I’m glad people hated him. That was the whole point. I was 19 when I filmed for the Wire. It was an amazing experience. Frog was a little jerk tho. Lmao. He was supposed to be that annoying little prick that you hate. I don’t say the N-word. Period! I’m 100% against it and had I not been so young and impressionable back then, saying if I was to go back and do it again I would never say that! Now I’m working in suicide awareness and prevention. And also doing music the talks a lot about mental illness. Hopefully you all get to check that out. As always I love you guys and God bless.
This is the only cut deeper than telling Weebey that he had to have slaw instead of potato salad while he's confessing to eight murders. The world isn't fair.
Just imagine Frog sitting in on the New Day Co-Op meetings. That shit would have been a hilarous deleted scene. Towards the end when Marlo says "The price of the brick going up", Frog replys, "Yoooo, chilll with that mane. East side over here struggling a lil bit, ya feel me Mister Maaarlo sir." Slim Charles then replys with "Actually Snow Flake got a point with that". and so on and so on
you know what i love about the wire? a lot of the "lesser known" actors actually come onto their youtube clips and comment (like frog here). same with the dude who plays the NYC dealer that gets whacked by chris and snoop.
You know that dude who played Bernard in Season 3, with all of his antics with Squeak? He was in The Ringer podcast comment section responding to the breakdown from Jemele Hill and Van Jones.
This video cuts the best part. Where he sees the old lady looking at him with disgust from the window and he realizes that he is just another "down, street wise whigger" as well.
Dark Nova And frog didn't? just because you live outside of a particular hood does not mean you do not associate with people from the hood. My cousin lives in a suburb most of his life, and most of the young dudes their are all hood. It's not always about where you are from, it's about who you know for they have the greatest influence over who you become.
Nick had the brains to play the game, even to reach the top with proper muscle or reach a high level with the greeks. Would’ve been interesting to see him continue with the game after his uncle died.
Nah. He fell into the Greeks and got far fast because of it. But he made every move you can make to get pinched. No middlemen, no code, buying in cash under your name, etc. He was a better boss than Ziggy, thats about it. Hell, his scene with Prop Joe was hilariously telling, him think Joe was straight with it because of whats right is right. He was a likeable kid but he never took it seriously enough because he thought he was above the lifestyle for most of his life.
With the" Greeks " he would have been above the lifestyle or in a different part of it. And learned to fix the mistakes you correctly point out. He couldn't let go of working class morality as the scene next shows his reaction to the old white lady looking at him through the window. He wasn't ready to realize he was her hero in this moment and everything he saw coming big picture was true.
@@mikeol510 Fuck had the shit with the girls in the can not even happen they more than likely still don't slip up.. even with Ziggy's autistic freak out, they wouldn't of had jack on them.
I haven't finished the show yet (I'm on Season 4), but Season 2 was my favorite so far. I loved the Sobotka storyline and the way it all culminated tragically towards the end.
It's not given enough respect for how it elevated the show. Two took a huge risk by completely changing up the main focus of the show, and it was unprecedented for them to do that at the time since it was only the second season. I'm sure everyone expected them to just continue focusing on the same people, same conflicts. But they didn't, and season two cemented how the show's overall narrative structure would work, where each season focuses on a different institution in Baltimore while continuing plot lines from other areas. And without that structure the Wire would be a very different show, almost certainly for the worse.
Always loved this scene. "Second, I'm also white. Not-hang-on-the-corner-don't-give-a-fuck-white, but Locust Point, IBS Local 47 white. I don't work without no fucking contract, and I don't stand around listening to horseshit excuses".
Leave Frog alone, if he wants to be black then let him be lol, this scene was funny as hell though, I wonder how white people feel about whiggers but me, I find them fucking hilarious
Cutting off the ending changes the tone of the thing entirely. Because for all his dunking on Frog, Nick ends up face to face with the fact that he's just a low-level drug dealer, exactly the same.
Yea but at least Nick didn’t try to put on like he was some black gangster... he was just a dude trying to make some money, while frog was going a step further on some rap music video role play shit 😂😂
@@carlost856 but it does change something to me at least, everyone has a profession but not everyone acts fake or tries to act like something they're not
@@ofc.vaughan2871 Nick and Ziggy are the same resentful, envious character just on different ends of the spectrum. Daddy issues forced them into a life of poverty and invisibility, both decided they had enough, only one knew when to get out
As soon as I saw Nick and Frog together when I first saw this, I just fucking KNEW that Nick was gonna call him out on that shit. Mostly because one of Season Two's main theme's was showing the difference between Nick and Ziggy, and Ziggy was attempting to use the slang, trying to integrate himself into that street shit and got no respect from either side for it.
orvcharl1 I fuckin couldn't stand Ziggy, he was a scrawny little dude who kept trying to be hard. In a way it's a little surprising that Frog didn't fuck Nick over too, cause while Nick was smarter than Ziggy, he was still kind of civilized, he wasn't the type that would shoot somebody who fucked him on his package. Maybe the point is that Frog just had more respect for Nick cause he wasn't a joke, and of course he saw that Nick was getting the good shit, so Frog wanted to keep it coming
orvcharl1 Ok, that's a good way to put it. You could see the look of shame on Frog's face when Nick called him out. On the other hand, Ziggy was also trying to be somebody he's not, so he didn't have Frog's or anybody's respect
Drug Addicted Pornstar I don't work without no fucking contract and I don't stand around listening to horseshit excuses like my cousin Ziggy, who by the way, is still owed money by you and all your "down street wise wiggers".
mrtony80 Locust Point is a neighborhood in Baltimore, IBS is the International Brotherhood of Stevedores and 47 is the union number of the local chapter.
cennon 'cause his uncle is secretary-treasurer of it? btw unions don't exist to provide jobs. some would argue even that unions are to blame for lack of jobs.
You know what's crazy is, back in the day (late 70's, early 80's) that area of Baltimore was really off limit to Black folks. What I mean by that is, it was segregated and you better not get caught in those neighborhoods after dark. For one thing, you had no business in those ethnic hoods after dark. But yeah, it was racist. I was born and raised in Baltimore, and that part of town was Euro ethnic groups. Be it Polish, Italians. Czechs, Irish, and Greeks. Same in the Black communities, they couldn't step foot there either. It was like that back in them days. You would get a bottle thrown at you for walking through there or be called a racist name. A lot has changed since then. White dope fiends stroll through Black hoods like it's no thing these days. That's another thing that changed too, it was rare to see white heroin fiends in Baltimore prior to 1990. I mean where they are out in the open nodding out. That was not the case back in the day. Not anymore, just as bad for them as it is for Blacks. That Highlandtown area I was talking about where it was off limits, changed too. Demographics changed dramatically. This scene is real though, white kids talk, dress and behave like Black folks now. Not all, but those that still hang around the way.. And might even see one with a durag on. Love my hometown though, it was crazy back then. Wish the city could bring back that old flavor and tailor neighborhoods like it used to be. A bit of nostalgia so to speak Old school lamp post with brick streets type of thing. That tavern sitting on the corner brings back memories. A lot hoods had those Taverns on blocks. Never acquainted them, just brings back memories. I left B-more in 88', but it's still my home. It is or should I say a real East coast city. It was grimy though, no doubt, but there some some culture there and good food. Food was the best and might still be.
Yeah its was crazy. Didn't go to Patterson Park, but did go to Herring Run with the Armstead Gardens folks. Had some racial incidents every now and then. I heard about Patterson Park back in the day though..
you are a u uneducated idiot buddy. They don't act black or talk black. it's where you grow up. you act uneducated or sound u uneducated. same with educated blacks, they don't sound like that. so you can't act like a color you act to your surroundings and upbringing and your education.
Most brilliant piece of TV ever: "First of all, and I don’t know how to tell you this without hurting you deeply. First of all, you happen to be white." BAM. Ouuuuuuuuch.
Kurk Kamambusu lol if you're saying frog is the mastermind behind the greek then that's a joke and just ignore the rest of my message but speaking seriously now, if you meant nicky... nicky was just the guy they used for smuggling lol and nicky only did it cause his uncle ran shit in the docks. when nicky tried to buy from the greeks they even told him they don't sell to small time guys but they'll hook him up with one the guys they supply too because they like him and they want too keep the dock workers happy.
+Leon Delvechio Ramirez A FRIGGIN MEN---(As a white man myself--it absolutely drives me NUTS to see this-I can only imagine how black people feel about it!! They're probably laughing their asses off whenever they see these lame-ass white breads trying to act all "street" and "gangsta"--and they SHOULD--it's PATHETIC!!)
+nyterpfan Most of the time.. There are white folk in the real world (it is rare) raised around this. &If youre around people that exhibit this behaviour its no surprise you pick it up. Just like you have some black dudes with money who are raised around whites & act that way too. This is just a tv show portraying a false individual, don't let it make you ignorant about everyone! As for it driving you nuts, why do you care? I'm sure you have other things to be worrying about!
Rapolla Street is literally just a two-block dead-end underneath I-95. There's a Peterbuilt dealership and a gravel pit there, and that's it. The only way I even know it's there is because it's on the way to Jimmy's Famous. And St. Casimir's is like an hour's walk from there. And Locust Point's on the other side of the harbor, and the traffic there is mostly cruise ships. The union's not called the IBS. It's called the ILA, and I'm certain the local in Baltimore would be in Dundalk, where all the real commercial tonnage is handled. And I'm not sure where in New Jersey they found all the actors on this show, but nobody in Baltimore sounds like that. The only white character in The Wire with an actual Baltimore accent is, oddly enough, Ziggy.
0:13 the girl walking behind them is about to pass the black guy in teh green jacket 0:17 the girl is now like 20 ft back from where she was in the previous screen
Nicky my best white character in the show I'm glad that nothing happened to him at the end, I feel sorry for what happened to his uncle. But Ziggy deserved what he got.
Frog is obviously oblivious to the concept of 'the pecking order.' The money flows to the top, and the shit always trickles down. The idea of a grunt trying to negotiate for 50% is maddeningly unrealistic, not to mention a pretty solid indicator of his naivete.
More like he's hoping to take advantage of someone he hopes is naive. Nick's never worked with drugs before, and Frog is trying to con him out of some money. He figured it worked with Nick's cousin Ziggy, might as well give it a try. (And on top of that he probably lied his ass off to Ziggy when he claimed that the police raided the stash house and took the package.) But Nick is a lot smarter than Ziggy, too smart to go for it.
@@DamienReign Man, you did a heck of a job an playing Frog. BTW, I just finished watching season 2.. Question, was the old lady who was mean mugging you really an actress or just a lady from the actual neighborhood?? That scene was quite underrated
@@ousamaabdu794 the funny thing about that. Lol. She was probably in her 70’s. And I am so funny about disrespecting my elders. The entire set was laughing that day.
