I just realised a new way to spy: make an armourstand (or let Cleo design one) of you “spying” on people, naming it Zedaph. Place these on multiple places, and then, once the Hermits get used to it, and think it’s merely armour stands, disguise yourself as one!

Moo? You could randomly name a few cows Zedaph so people get used to it for future attempts.

the chances of one of your cows actually being a Zedaph are low... but never zero! and hey, even if the cow disguise didn't work, you can still recycle it in a couple of weeks and go trick-or-treating as the Spy Cow!

Zed getting attacked by phantoms while disguised as a cow and Keralis finally noticing him was the funniest freaking thing

this video was absolutely hilarious! when Keralis found you, the "moo?" had me so bad, I normally don't laugh out loud when watching videos, but I just couldn't hold it back xD I saw on twitter someone talking about Zedaph's skins on name mc, and immediately realized what was going on, which made me very excited to watch this video :)

You know, Impulse has his camera pointed at himself quite a lot when he's streaming when he stops to talk to chat. So he can't see what's in front of his at all. Pearl snuck into his base right in front of his face one time while he was doing that and only got caught because she was also streaming and the audience tattled on her. That might be a good way to catch a good picture of Impulse. Or any other hermit who streams maybe, if they do the same thing.

Keralis' view of you turning your head and going "moo?" was pure comedy gold.

I'm not sure what's happened, but I won't let that stop me from being on the job. Today Zed tackles what is proving to be the most difficult of Zedvancements; it's spy time! Armed with ideas from his avid viewers, he aims to get some sneaky snapshots of several servermates. Invisibility works well for him as he navigates the wide-open platforms of Beef's base, but he's discovered during a stone-camo stakeout in Grian's rift room. Guess he took that outfit for granite! Get it ..stone? Granite? Well, I thought it was funny. The last attempt, a beefy costume designed to blend with bovines, had me laughing for a long time. Is he successful? Does someone try to milk Zedaph? Does he get annihilated by mobs as he lies in wait? I have an idea! Maybe make a room full of hermits, a bunch of animals with hermit names and sneak yourself in there pretending to be an animal. Or if you’re feeling a bit risky you can throw blindness potions on hermits, take a picture of them and they’ll never know you were there. Another option is using Scar’s creeper costume from a while ago so the hermits won’t see anything outside the usual, just a creeper walking around, and when they’re not paying attention spy on them with the spy glass Thanks for reading my recommendations! You had me giggling immediately in this episode, I'm so glad I started watching other hermits. I was an oldhead and watched only Etho and Doc for the longest time.

Once again, enjoyed the episode. Had a half an idea for a Zedvancement... CreeperDeeper! Drill a hole to the bottom of the world with creepers! The episode could have it all. Technical build, Comedy, Explosions, Destruction, & Multiple Dead Zeds. Keep up the good work.

Zed, your problem is in your planning. First, luring someone to a strange place always puts them on guard which means they're more likely to notice small details. In those cases, you need multiple distractions nearby, and in the background, to divide their attention. The more they have to look at, the less they will actually see. Second, you need to visit every target's base while they are there, to see exactly what they are currently working on. Then, once they're offline, go back and carefully examine the area they're working in. This way, you can know every possible exit, and pick out several hiding places. You might even be able to add your own escape route. If you had dug a tunnel in advance, from that corner you were hiding in, Grian wouldn't notice it for weeks. Getting these shots is going to take dedication. 🤠👍

In Keralis's video when you were discovered in the cow pen and you turned to face him, that was maybe the single funniest moment from all of hermitcraft this season! You are the prize jewel in the crown that is hermitcraft!

Zedaph crouching doesn't make your name tag invisible, here is the quote from the wiki, "In multiplayer, a sneaking player's name tag appears fainter than normal, invisible to players more than 32 blocks away, and invisible through solid blocks." as such as cool as this idea is it has limitations you haven't taken into account.

I like that zed never takes the earliest way to do this stuff he takes the most fun

Yeah, fun fact zedaph, holding shift only makes your name tag invisible if you’re behind a block. If you’re out in the open it just makes it a bit more transparent and faded looking, but it’s still very visible.

Next time you should just name all the cows " Zedaph''s Cow" or something and then hide in the middle. Good episode!

How about "Knight of the Living Armor" Jumpscare a hermit by pretending to be an Armorstand. For this to work, you need to wear Armor while invisible, and stand inside of an actual Armor stand, and then jump out and scare them in some way! Have fun with this (Also the name is a pun, since it's Night, but knight as in wearing Armor)

There are those custom pumpkin hat models for future disguises too, I remember Grian and Impulse going around disguised as trees last season.

Zed’s humor is like watching a Disney movie when you’re older and realizing all the dirty jokes that are in it, but still kid appropriate!!

Could possibly still use that cow pen and cake game to spy. Just name _all_ of the cows. Make sure at least a couple are named Zedaph just for additional camouflage.

A fun zedvancement could be obtaining a "Villager Jockey". In the current version, if you find a baby zombie villager riding a chicken, and cure it with splash weakness and a golden apple, the villager will still be riding the chicken after the healing process

Now you need to name ALL of those cows Zedaph, whether you try the "I Spy" from there again or not. As an idea, grab 2 stacks of scaffolding, build straight up. Put a shulker box (or a 3x3 of shulker boxes) on top, remove the scaffolding. Land back on the shulkerbox(es) and spy from above. If needed, keep potions of invisibility on you. The shulker boxes won't render in unless a player is close, so they'll be invisible from the ground. You could set this up in the shopping district or over a Hermit's base. You could even fill the shulker boxes with items to sell as a distraction for if they find them. (Name the boxes "Zedaph's hidden wonders" and sell something very cheap in them.)

An idea: perch yourself high above the trading district, then when someone is below you drink both invis and slow fall potions to approach for a photo

On the name tag thing: if you are close enough and not behind blocks, you can still see a player’s name tag faintly. But if you’re separated by blocks the tag doesn’t show when crouching!

I’m loving the costume ideas, Zed. ❤Maybe to help you escape - that’s when you get caught most - you should throw enderpeals. The pearl is less likely to be seen than you sneaking away. It might have been the only way to escape Grian’s base.

At this point, a good idea might be to use an invisibility potion and a custom pumpkin in order to hide as something but still have your name invisible. A bit like the tree prank mumbo pulled off last season.

•Why not make bunkers or watch post near people's bases with a tunnel that lets you exit somewhere? •Make hidden tunnels that make you pop out behind their storage chest while invisible so when they take some items from those chest, you're at the back taking pictures upclose. •Make a mini game that makes them stand there idle when playing and you can then spy on them while they're playing •A pop-up shop where you hide somewhere near it •Hide behind a farmland block like how you hide chest behind and is only accessible through that pixel gap. •Make a custom textured pumpkin or armor that makes you look like a tree or creeper like what scar and tango did •Pretend to be AFK near them?

That was actually a genius thumbnail that I don't think many people would think to appreciate. With the cow skin being the main drawing factor, followed by reading the "Camo" text with the arrow pointing to the hidden zedaph that no one noticed!(or maybe I'm just blind because I definitely didn't notice it right off the bat)

Zed, I think an AMAZING advancement would be to collect the head of every ruling monarch on the server, you could call it "Getting A HEAD of the crown (instead of crown)" so now you have 2 puns in 1! Its genius if I do say so myself, which I did, just then.

You now need to go around the server randomly naming mobs & things Zedaph so when you go spying, you'll blend in. Zedaph cows, and sheep. The Zedaph, tiny tripwire hooks, and silver fish will be ironically funny! Not to mention the flat books, and shoes, etc. in item frames. You'll be the Lon Chaney of Minecraft! "Don't kill that Endermite, it might be Zedaph!"

Our spy science- our SPYENCE *GASP* 😂😂😂 And then the silly music HAHA I'm not sure why I found that so hilarious, but the comedic timing was PERFECT

The spy photo's are so fun, it's my favorite of the Zedvancements.

When i watch Keralis vid, i laugh so hard when he spot u as a cow. That is amazing disguise, maybe u need to nametag some of the cow too, n make escape room with trapdoor underneath. Cz i think the major problem here is the escape... Please dont give up on the "I Try I Spy"

trying to sneak out of a hole that can only be exited by flying was maybe not the best idea! :P the only real option would to be stay hidden until he leaves and then fly off. Name all the cows Zedaph! problem solved. They can't spot you, if they can't see! set up traps with wardens and blinding potions!

New Zedvancement: Build of Theseus- Replace all the blocks in a Hermit's build with different blocks.

It would be hilarious to make this zedvancement a competition. Like if every other hermit can get a pic of you before you get a pic of them, they as a team win! I have no idea what the prize would be but it sounds like it would create some chaos
