Histamine Intolerance may be the link between your confusing and uncomfortable symptoms. If you have headaches, migraines, anxiety, skin itchiness, eczema, congestion, post nasal drip, sudden sweating, stomach pain, diarrhea, or others that you or your doctors haven’t been able to resolve, it’s possible that histamine is the problem. Very informative video thank you so much!! My son has Celiac disease and we think this is why he gets horrible migraines from banana, avocados, fermented dairy, and vinegars to just mention a few! Probiotics with some strains “amines” made him worse! Collagen supplements too! Doctors say it’ll just take time as the small intestine heals from years of undiagnosed celiac!
@aunaun6775
@aunaun6775 2 года назад
You've listed all high histamine food. A histamine intolerance is rarely a stand alone condition. Your son's Celiac can be accompanied w/ it. Cut out high histamine and invest in good quality food helps a lot.
@NourZibdeh
@NourZibdeh Год назад
agree with the comment... many of the foods people tout for healing the gut are high in histamine... sauerkraut etc also... he may also have food sensitivities in addition to celiac. I've worked with patients who tested positive for rice or corn or quinoa or other foods that are used heavily in gluten-free products. if you removed histamine and gluten and he's still not feeling better and the gut is not healing and migraines not better, he may have underlying issues like I mentioned food sensitivities but also possibly dysbiosis or other gut infections. If you're looking for a provider to help you with the diet and further gut assessment and testing, you can book an appointment using this link: nourzibdeh.com/getstarted/ best wishes for him!

Quick question! If i drink 300mg of caffeine every morning, can this make me temporarily histamine intolerant by blocking DAO?

In theory, coffee doesn't block DAO. Tea does though.

Thanks for the video. So lately i was having chronic diarrhea, abdominal cramps headache and some itchy skin vertigo and eczema. At one point I thought I had appendicitis and went to the hospital but they found nothing. Also after that I went to a gastroenterologist where he did a bunch of tests including an MRI and everything was normal so I was diagnosed with ibs. Now that I think of, it might be histemine related because I found out about homemade sauerkraut a few months ago and loved it so i was eating it daily even many times in a day with other foods and often big portiins. I stopped that and dairy products the diarrhea stopped and generally feel better but still have a bit of cramping. Do you think it might be it? Thanks
@NourZibdeh
@NourZibdeh 2 года назад
it could be histamine or intolerance to fermentable fibers (FODMAPs), or both. Not sure what the other foods are ;) Dairy products are ticky-- if you react to milk, you may have lactose intolerance or dairy allergy. If you react to something like cheddar cheese, you have have histamine intolerance or dairy allergy. Yogurt contains histamine, lactose and dairy proteins. If every type of dairy bothers you, then maybe you have an allergy to milk proteins too.

I have multiple symptoms for many years and couldn't really get a straight answer. One doctor suggested I might have a gluten intolerance or Celiac Disease, another couldn't tell me anything except to take antihistamines (which only worked temporarily or didn't work at all). I cut out all gluten products but still had symptoms. Earlier this year I finally got a prick test done and found out I had an allergy (or rather intolerance) for histamine. The allergist I went to didn't know anything about this and suggested I just cut out melons and grapes. 🤦🏼‍♀️ No other information. So I did intense research and started an elimination diet. I started to notice I was slowly getting better, but after the initial elimination of high histamine foods, I felt way better. After the initial 3 weeks of a low histamine diet, I started to test out a few foods one at a time. Tomatoes is a huge no no along with lemon juice and oranges. After each one, I had to wait another 3 weeks to just try another thing, but then initially kept reacting. I also found out there's reasons why our bodies keep making histamine or reacting to high histamine foods. Unfortunately, where I live, I can't get tested cause they don't have these tests. Tonight we went out to eat, and without asking, they added olives in my salad and I tasted some vinegar towards the end of the salad. Now I'm having a bad reaction. I really wish they could give me the extra tests here that I desperately need. My whole body is in reaction mode right now and it sucks. Any suggestions on what I can do to figure it out? I'm down to just rice, fresh meats (I don't eat fish atm), potatoes, onions, lettuce, carrots (when we have), cucumber and maybe now and then other foods such as zucchini, peas and corn. I also don't eat gluten, but have gluten free flour to make my breads with, but I also don't use it much.

Hi Fatemeh... sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well. I have actually worked with clients outside the US and have been able to send stool testing and SIBO (and a few others) to other countries. Some were able to get supplements from the US. Feel free to contact us privately on our website if you want to let me know where you and how we can help you. It does take a comprehensive gut approach. It could be SIBO, dysbiosis, yeast, mold, leaky gut or other issues. nourzibdeh.com/contact-us/
@farim690
@farim690 2 года назад
Fatemah.. Elimination diet is really good approach but unfortunately not enough. You also have to make your cells stronger in order to not react. It takes a long time to strengthen those buggers. Take high dose of vit C, d, e, iron (non constipating ones) with zinc, magnesium and most important.. Pure fish oil. If you have a naturopath that stocks the brand Metagenics, it's the best. All these along with a good probiotic. But beware.. Not all probiotics are histamine friendly. I have been healing my gut since June with just these supplements and believe me only now.. 6 months later I can say I see my reactions getting better. It's a long road that requires a lot of patience. Meditating and spiritual assistance helps heaps.

@NourZibdeh

You would have to work with a functional medicine provider which is likely not connected to the NHS and would not be covered. Are there private functional medicine clinics? I'm in the US. I've worked with some people in the UK but it's usually better to work with a provider in your country

same like you would any other day. Avoid aged and fermented foods, as well as foods that contain histamine or make your body release histamine. There are herbs and supplements that reduce mast cell activation like nettle, quercetin, vitamin D, and bromelain... you can eat fresh meats, fresh veggies, grains and others. Check this blog for more food info: nourzibdeh.com/histamine-intolerance/

I have anxiety also have you seen any one with his also having HI?
@NourZibdeh
@NourZibdeh Год назад
Yes... it can. However, anxiety is also connected with gut infections like SIBO, H Pylori, dysbiosis and others... and these can cause histamine intolerance. So.. I think the solution is not just a low histamine diet but also full gut clean up and repair.

Hi Nour, I've been having stomach pains on and off the past few months, i get hives from hot and cold temperatures and when i am stressed or upset about something. I get it when i come out of the shower, go to university and work. I've found myself with a stomach pain this year continuously and i'm not too sure how to fix it. When i consume tomatoes and avocados my stomach pains get worse and i feel sick and extremely bloated from fermented foods such as miso soup or vegetables. I was wondering which DAO & HNMT supplement you would recommend.

Also Brenda... I do have patients who say the same thing. Heat, movement, shower, going to a certain store, etc can make them break into hives or itching. From my experience, while the supplements help, they are only a small piece of the puzzle. I work with people with digestive issues and histamine issues are often common with other food sensitivities, and it does take a comprehensive approach that includes addressing all diet triggers and uncovering underlying gut issues to overcome it. If you're in the US and interested in a full reset and not just one piece here and there, let's talk. You can book a strategy session with me here at nourzibdeh.com/getstarted/
