I understand being in a funk. It is so hard to lose not just a grandfather, but a good friend. It is good to see an update. I love, your home and the charcoal roof will be perfect. I love that Finley has his own garden. He will get so much satisfaction from it. Your children are so very fortunate. I grew up with a family that had huge gardens and we had cattle. We always put up our own food and made our own jellies. My dad had fruit trees too. He had a spot where he always went to pick sand plums and he made jelly every year. We always had peach preserves, apple butter and jelly. My grandmother always made pepper jelly too. Enough about me. 😀. Just glad to see you back and will keep an eye out for more.
Howdy brother- you got everything looking good over there. I wish I could share some of the persimmons we have growing here. They come up everywhere. I understand what it’s like when your younguns get to be teenagers. It takes a lot of your time. I sure wish we still had some teenagers still. All grown and gone. Take care and God’s blessings to y’all
So glad you are back! I kept wondering what might have happened but i totally understand when you loose someone so close to you it is hard to get back into the swing of things. You are a wonderful man!
So glad that you are back. The house looks great! Ya'll sure have a beautiful home! Love Finnley's chickens and his garden. It is hard to believe that he is 7 years old. He's growing up to be a farmer and a lover of the land. That is a great thing! Hope the girls are doing well. I guess they are grown young ladies now. Looks like Laken will have plenty of yummy tomatoes soon. I remember how much she loves them. I think of her every time I make biscuits..lol. Using Hudson Cream flour like she said has made all the difference in my biscuits. I have passed that suggestion on too many many folks, and all agree that it's the best way to make good biscuits. Hope ya'll have a great week. Getting some rain finally here in southwest Virginia. We sure needed it! Take care and God bless!
Everything around there is looking good! I definitely understand what ya mean about letting your pasture come out. Look forward to seeing more videos from you.
Hello Jared I understand life gets busy and it’s good to see you back y’all’s homestead is looking great we’re trying to get our planting finished it’s harvest time for some of it and it’s making well thank the Good Lord anyway y’all take care and God Bless
I had been wondering about you my Kentucky brother!!! So good to see you are doing well, and sort to hear about your grandfather passing way not sure how I missed that video. But RU-vid has deleted some of my channels from my list of favorites so could have been how that happened. Hope your family is doing well, how is the garden coming along? Got my garden pretty much planted except for cucumbers and squash which going to put them out this weekend if the weather will allow. We been getting rain almost everyday for the past two weeks and thunderstorms that will come, with high winds, and hail. We are expecting severe thunderstorms for this afternoon and overnight here in Tennessee around the tri-cities area. I live right on the Kentucky/Tennessee line. You really got the fruit trees going this year.
Hey , good to see you, I guess little man is in school. Looks like you are going to have plenty of fruit. I don’t see any cows, do you still have them ? Glad you are doing better. God bless you all. ? Sorry, just heard you say you sold the cows. Tell little man he needs to come on and show us his chickens and garden. We miss you all.
Please know it is real good to see a vid after quite awhile with none. Real glad all is well with you and your family. Was concerned there were issues. But now I see you have been one bisy man planning and getting things off and running. No matter if future vids are once a week or more - I will be looking forward to them as I do enjoy seeing them. You live in beautiful country and always a treat to see that area. BTW - my uncle would plant a Pecan tree every couple of years - dig deep hole and fill botto wiyh tin cans flood the bottom - wait a day or two and plant the tree. They always did well - they like the iron the roots got from the cans. This was in West Texas - San Angelo area.
Great to see you back Jared!!! Sorry for your loss. I hope your family are all doing well. It’s hard to believe Finley is 7 now. I remember he was a little feller when I first subbed to your channel. Time sure flies by. I’m looking forward to seeing y’all more often when you get ready. Take care and God Bless!!!
Good to see you again Jared, everything looks good around there. The work on your house looks so good. Keep up the good work around there and hope you can get back on track after your loss. Stay safe and tell the family we said hello. Fred.
Sorry to hear of the loss of your grandfather. It's very hard to get back to your regular routine, prayers for you. I'm used to seeing your son with you, hope your family is doing well.
Wonderful to hear from you. Indeed, you are busy. Lots of great plans. Your house is looking so good. Well done! I look forward to watching your plans develop.
Thank you for your work. Place looks great. May The Holy Spirit comfort you. Grief is the hole left from great love. Precious memories and time are our Friends. God bless y’all.
Sorry to hear about your grandfather. Glad to hear you’re doing well and glad to hear your putting out videos again. We will continue to pray for you and the family.
Sorry to hear about your grandfather ! I know that he passed a lot of knowledge on to you ! I'm glad to see you are doing well and have plans on getting more area cleared for pasture and stuff ! I been a little slow on watching videos as I've been helping take care of my mom as she has Dementia now and trying to take care of my 24 acres also ! Thank you Jared for the update on how things are going there ! Take care , stay safe , healthy and keeping you all in my prayers ! I'll be 69 the 27th of this month !
Sorry to hear of your grandfather passing. I know he taught you a Wealth of Knowledge. Thankfully you had him for so many years. I miss your videos for I so enJoy the old ways you still live and show the rest of us Old Souls that we are not alone in wanting to hold on to some of the ways our loved ones passed on to us. You are such an inspiration. May God continue to Bless you and your family. Good to see you back!!!
Great to see you again and all is well in the mountains 💗 Do you need to protect your apple trees from rabbits, mice and deer? We have to wrap the trunk and cage them until they get big enough for deer munching....
You going to protect the fruit trees with a tube or hardware cloth. The deer will chew them down. Need some Diary goats to clear out the weeds. Maybe some specialty breed pigs to turn over the soil. Good to see you back.
Young man try adding some bone meal and blood meal around the tree but not on it. Turn it over and water a little. It should snap them out of being dormant. Bone meal is great for trees and bulbs flowers etc. Blood meal is nitrogen for foliage growth. Maybe a half cup of each. You have a fine place. Like your log cabin home.
Great job brother. I have been watching your videos for a while. I’m actually thinking of moving to Kentucky from Missouri. I would love to have a neighbor like you. God bless!
Thank you! You’d be surprised how many people are moving to our area from other states. Property seems to be a lot higher and fast selling these days!!
Today is my precious Daddy's birthday...he would have been 87 years old. Daddy passed away in 2017 but I still have days where I'm in a funk, so I truly understand not feeling like doing any videos. I'm so very sorry for the loss of your grandpa. Yall have a beautiful place there...I love Finley's little chickens and his little garden!! Jared, you are so very blessed and I'm so thankful you share these wonderful videos with us. Much love from us here in mountains of Virginia to yall out there in the mountains!!
Good to see you again Jared. Loss does have way of making us step back & rethink our lives. Your place is looking good and having the pastures regenerate will only be a benefit. Also some flat land will definitely be a dream come true. Sometimes we just need to step back, slow down (not that you have), and approach from a new angle. Wishing you all God's grace.
Hey Jared to you and your family hope you all are doing good watch your video today you always make good videos and you really play that banjo and guitar real good too love that bluegrass gospel music I saw in the past on some of your videos you can play awesome more tunes that would be a good video take care have a good day love from North Carolina
Well glad you’re getting some distance between you and your loss. And on a funnier note, level ground! I am not sure anyone can relate to that more than I. If I replace your cabin with ours and the little outbuildings you have. Just like ours that are all dove tail buildings. A lot of work ahead but maybe things will come together for us. Yes dozers are worth the money and save a lot of abuse on a tractor!❤️💪👋
Flat land is a luxury here for sure! I wanted to buy a dozer but they are out of my price range for one that is actually dependable! So just gotta hire it out! It will be worth it!
Jared, I am SO glad your family is doing well this Easter season! You teach your children things that will stay with them for life. God’s blessings are wished for you all. Your grandfather must be smiling down from Heaven! Anna in Niceville, FL.
My grandpa died in 1997. I miss him every day. And that just speaks to how special he was, and how special your grandpa was to you. Glad life is growing and getting better! Prayers up!
Praise God Jared, from whom all blessings flow. Welcome back, Sir. Good to hear & see your encouraging self. I love the fuji & Gayla apples. I love to make apple pies with fuji, Granny Smith, & McIntosh all mixed together makes a wonderful pie with butter & apple pie spice & just a little sugar.Wow, good stuff. My favorite eaten apple is a Jonagold, that is the 2 apples : Jonathan & Golden Delicious, cross together to make the jonagold, - a wonderful med. firm, sweet/ tart, juice flowing great apple: (Jonagold apple). Let me know if you are going to have any of your country pole bean seeds to sale, I have the rattlesnakes, but was wanting the other 1 you plant.
Jared, great to see you back with a new video. A lot has changed since the last one. I love that nice fruit tree orchard. I wish we had planted some of those Honeycrisp apples years ago. My wife just loves them. I hope we get an update after you get your dozer work done. That's really going to change the look of the place. I want to comment on how nice that chinking looks on the house and the way you have the the windows all trimmed up. It's beautiful. That Finley has become quite the gardener and chicken farmer. Hope the wife and girls are doing well too. God bless you and the family.
Welcome back Jared. I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure that your Grandfather's memory throughout your Land will continue to be an inspiration for your life. His blood will continue to flow through you and your children's veins. He is still very much alive, but has moved into another realm and has gone back home to be with our LORD. God bless you and your precious family, your friend, Louise
I know that feeling of needing some alone time and nothing matters feeling after you lose someone as close as your Granddad. I figured you be back when the mood strikes! Hang in there and his Spirit will always be watching over you in your daily chores! Bless your heart and hopefully you'll get back to your ole self in due time! Can't wait to see updates on the dozer work! 👍🏻 Have a Great Day 👌🏼
Hey Little Brother, Life is complex and we don't really understand it and how things go. It's good to see you doing well in your hollow. You have a little corner of heaven there, but keep them crows off yer Silver Queen, or they'll turn your patch to bourbon, like they did mine. May the Lord and Lady of heaven bless you and yours. It warms my heart to see young people caring for the land.
