WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?
The Atheist Experience is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

i mean. china has often times been called an athiest country. and while I'm not an expert. i haven't known it to be exactly LGBT friendly.

@@abelbavdaz6823 i mean it's possible. i just haven't met any. granted i haven't met every athiest. saying that. many countries that you could consider pretty athiestic; like china aren't exactly friendly to the lgbt community.

there defo is the ick factor but that's is like he said. we are wired different. it's can be the same as if you see someone eat a food you don't like. i don't like sardines. i thing they are gross. i gag at the sight of them. does that give me the right to ban someone who does like sardines from eating them? NO.

Considering Matt’s various positions on things like LGBTQ+ rights, individual autonomy (abortion, sex workers etc) and things of that nature, he strikes me as a man whose positions were wholly and completely tied so strongly to god/Christianity that as soon as he ditched it, there was no good reason to hold those previous views so now he’s totally liberal and that in itself is the mark of someone who’s living their life as honestly as possible. _Took me a while to think of the word ‘Liberal’ because I wasn’t sure if that was seen as a pejorative or something. Totally not meant as one, if it is - I agree with Matt’s positions myself_ EDIT: second like, second comment 🤣

@@DiMadHatter ahh ok. I wasn’t meaning that he *is* a liberal, just that his views on these things weren’t restrictive or anything - his general slant is that everyone should be free to do anything they want, as long as it causes no demonstrable harm. I didn’t mean ‘liberal’ like a political term. I’m from the U.K. though so I’m not as clued-up on these sorts of things!

Sounds more like a long winded way to say he "knee jerked" himself away from some legitimate conservative viewpoints in favor of a purist interpretation of liberalism/humanism. He's pretty unbalanced in his stances, and man, that personal life is a mess. I wouldn't take advice from him on much besides argument/debate tips. I'm an atheist.

@@jimbojones4164 Whilst I completely understand why you said it, you didn’t need to add that you’re an atheist; the arguments stand or fall on their own merits 👍 Honestly though, I’m not entirely sure I understand what you meant - as I say, I’m in the U.K. but I’m also pretty ignorant of politics and political terminology etc. I don’t know what all of his specific positions were before and honestly I don’t think it really matters or has any impact on what those positions are today (this goes double for what kind of a state his personal life is in - none of my business and not my concern). Regardless the reasons for specifically _why_ he holds those positions though, I’m not aware of the inconsistent positions you’re referring to - could you mention one or two? Thanks!
