Honda Civic Fuel Line Replace (EASY) 

Just finished this job and per your recommendation I got the fuel lines from ValexRacing, who sells these Honda/Acura kits on Ebay. The kit for my application (Integra GSR) fit well and the length of the lines was perfect. During install you just have to navigate around some tight spaces under the car. I used a 2ft piece of wire to fish the fuel lines through some narrow spaces and taped the ends of the fittings with masking tape to ensure I did not damage them during installation. I did, however, run into one issue. I installed the crush washer backwards, which resulted in some fuel leaking at the filter. Flipping the crush washer resolved the leak and all is good now.

Andrey Andreychuk Yes and they were pain in the butt, all the line were horrible rusty yes I live in Wisconsin.

Juan Ayala I used copper lines and you can actually bend them by hand. The only tool I needed is a brake line flare tool, also could be rented at your auto part store.

Andrey Andreychuk I did used those by my drums but the rest of bit I did used steal from A to B I am so glad is over. Now i need to take care the fuel line, luckily i saw your video and now will be easier. Tanks again and have a good one. Peace.

Im in Ohio too but thinking the cover should help to protect? Does it just do the opposite/make it rust more or what?

I think with the cover it keeps the water longer. Without it dries quicker.

No I think I removed the original fuel lines. I also replaced 2 brake lines.

mrsemifixit Yes lines come cut to size. The lines worked perfectly for me without any problems. It's all like plug and play.

Andrey Andreychuk Nice. Did you have to relieve fuel pressure? If so how's that done?

mrsemifixit I did not need to do it because my fuel line was leaking and it all leaked out so I had no fuel in the lines. You can just youtube it.

Andrey Andreychuk What was that other rusted line that you didn't replace?

mrsemifixit I think that's just an air line, to the evaporation system.

QU8K . The big line is for the evap. I think it's for the gas fumes.

tim white. Just look on eBay. Put year make and model and add fuel lines.

Just tighten it snug and see if it doesn't leak.

Andrey Andreychuk Turns out, you do. Mine was brittle and it broke. Luckily, Acura still produces em.

Aq No I did not make a video about that. But it's actually pretty simple. Just rant a brake line flaring tool at auto zone or other parts store. Go on amazon and buy a 3/16 copper brake line with fittings. By using a copper line you don't need a special tool to bend it. You can bend it by hand.

Andrey Andreychuk Thanks for the quick response! Couple of questions if you don't mind: 1. How long should the brake lines be for the rear side brakes? 2. After you replace the rear brake lines, do you do brake bleeding only for the rear wheels or do you do bleeding for the front wheels too? 3. Is it possible to leave the old brake lines and zip tie the new ones to them to save some time of removing the old ones, or they must be removed no matter what? 4. My mechanic told me that replacing the brake lines and fuel lines for my Honda civic 1998 is gonna be around $1100. Do you think that's a fair estimate? (since it's gonna be my first try, I'm gonna make sure if it's better to ask him to do it if that's fair.) 5. Lastly, do you recommend compression fitting for brake lines or double flaring? Thanks!

It's the same thing as I did my fuel line. 2. It's better to bleed all the brakes. 3. Zip tie your new brake lines to your old ones. You don't have to remove them. 4. I would not pay that much expecially it's not that hard labor. This was my first time doing the fuel and brake lines.
