Honda Deauville NT700v Rear Wheel Removal 

Hello, i'm an owner of a 30 years old Revere. Well, during the video i remove the rear wheel about minimum 5 times in and out😉. I only have to loosen the two bolts of the brake caliper and the axle nut screw...thats it. Very complicated, but also very helpful video for all deauville drivers👍. Greetings from Germany

I have learned after being a mechanic at three different motorcycle shops, and buying and resurrecting motorcycles that have been sitting, sometimes for decades, and working on cars, my own cars and trucks. There is one thing I have learned. The hard way, is the easy way!! I would start by taking the exhaust pipe off of this machine and possibly the right saddle bag. It may be harder to get the muffler out-of-the-way, it may be more work to take the muffler off. It may seem harder. But that’s what I’m talking about, actually, the hard way is the easy way… I am very surprised that Honda would make even this NT-700, as difficult, if not almost as difficult as just about any small maintenance job on a GL 1800 Goldwing. There is no simple job on one of those. I had one. I thought it was ridiculous that a local shop charged a guy I know who has the same bike I had over $650 labor just to change his air cleaner. When it came time for me to change my air cleaner, I realized, The day I changed the air filter on my Goldwing, that 600 and some dollars was a fair price. Because it takes about five hours just to change the air cleaner. Working on a Goldwing, and now I’m seeing it’s like that on this machine also.. Honda is getting more and more like BMW cars and motorcycles. You have to marry the dealer almost if you are not mechanically inclined… Labor here in the United States in a Honda motorcycle shop service department is $125 an hour.. this motorcycle may seem tough to get the rear wheel off, but, at least it has a center stand.. The Japanese started eliminating center stands whenever they eliminated, kickstarters, and tubeless tires became pretty much standard.. but I am a little surprised that Honda put this motorcycle out there for us to ride, and not simplify and getting the rear wheel off of this machine..

Thanks for this, wish I'd found it before I took my rear wheel out to change the pads! What you can do to clear the torque arm bolt is undo the back two bolts on the exhaust and move it out and up a bit, just gives you a little extra travel on the bolt, so the arm can just slide.

Good show, I have got the wheel out and just ordered Bridgestone tyres for my NT700 06 abs model ,its a good time to change the brake pads and clean and grease calipers, even spray anti rust on the inside of the swing arm seeing its easy access at this point. Good helpful video bud.

Yep a pain in the ass to remove the back wheel, if only they made the boxes removable that would have helped a lot, also it is so cramped in there anyone with big hands struggles. I usually just let my tyre place deal with it but when you need to do work on the rear you need to remove than wheel, so your video will be helpful for anyone who still has this bike. Good video.

Never should got rid of my ST1100 seeing THAT performance! I just bought an NT700 and just got to fit a new tire and not looking forward to doing it.

I do it by leaving the pads in the caliper.

God help you on a pitch dark and rainy night if you get a flat out in the middle of nowhere, or for that mater on a dark rainy night when you're on your way home from work, already dog tired. My old BMW K100RS required removal of one pannier (one latch), four hub nuts and the wheel was out.

Vfr beside you is so easy to remove the rear wheel.

5 people have spent hours and hours removing the exhaust prior to watching this........
