How to shift a Honda: wait until it absolutely sounds like it's gonna explode, wait for another 2000 rpm, AND THEN SHIFT! Gotta love how these Honda's will look at 9000+ rpm and go "Meh, just another day."
I once did 100mph with my small two seater soft top and I found the experience terrifying. The noise was 100db+ mostly from the wind hitting the hood. I had my wife next to me, she was speechless, holding on to dear life. Kudos to you both.
0:02 I thought it was only me that check our girl when we gear down and hit the gas... It's like: "we are going to fly now, are you ok with that?" haha I miss Germany, been there twice and the autobahn's are paradises for petrolheads! Greetings from Brazil anyway!
its amazing and scary every time when you drive +220 for a long time, for me at least if feels slower after a time and then driving 80 kph feels like driving on a parking lot
This video was of particular interest to me as I used to have a 2000 AP1 S2000 for 13 years, sold it and bought a used 2006 Z4 M Roadster, and I now also own a 2016F82 M4. Only the M4 has been on the autobahn (271 kph speed limited top end), as well as on Nurburgring Nordschleife, Circuit Park Zandvoort, and Spa Franchorchamps during Euro Delivery in May 2016. My wife also drove the M4 at 271 kph, and also drove all three tracks. We know how to pick our women!
Awesome video. Well done. Your s2000 is really impressive. That's one super strong engine to be held at that high rpm and speed for that duration. What performance modifications does the engine have?
The setup when i make this vidéo: - Mugen parts: Carbon Intake box, manifold, catback, Carbon front bumper, flat bottom, Carbon hood. - ECU TracySport Vtec at 5400rpm - Chassis: Coilovers Tein MonoFlex, Front Break kit AP Racing, Front bar Spoon - Wheels: 17" PRODRIVE OEM size with Yokohama Néova AD08R (215/45/17 & 245/40/17) - Geometry adjustment: Camber Front -1° / Camber Rear -2° / Caster 6°45" / Toe Front 0° / Toe Rear 0°20 - Power : 250hp - Weight : 1210kg
Love your videos, it's always a very exciting drive with superb on/over the limit control! I've yet to track mine but I will. Looking at your impressive speed you've clearly freed up good power with the various mods! I've only got aem v2 induction so far, but it's great to see proof that (by hitting 170mph) these many mods add up.
Ich weis nicht was ich lieber haben will - nen S2000 Mugen oder die Frau die bei 250 Bubbleshooter spielt und bei 274 die Kamera zückt um die Gaudi aufzunehmen. Dicken Daumen hoch :)
My S2000 picks up lots of bug carapaces every time I go out - I see yours does too. How often do you clean the bugs off of the front bumper and windshield? I recently found out they ruin paint so I'm curious...
It's necessary each time you exceed 75mph. That's how the police know when you've been busting the speed limit here in the U.K. The squashed bugs say it all.
yes the honda is the best in your dream. Another shit for brains jdm shit boy. Z4M will shit on this toy box and your s2000 can only smell its exhaust fart!
What mods Xav? My AP1 with induction and exhaust mods would only do 240! It's such a great engine. Can easily be supercharged or turbo charged without changing the internals.
so you mean you slightly release the clutch when you down shifting? but doesnt that make the car kinda choke up a little bit, how do you smooth that out? what about when you down shifting 2 gears or more? do you release clutch each gear or do you just keep the clutch until the gear you wanted? sorry im a amateur on manual but im a true vtec fan
i have watched some keichii tsuyachi videos and what he does when downshifting is he slightly release the clutch and tip his other foot onto the gas paddle to keep the torque running. is that what you do to? that is really fast and difficult work to do at the same time. god damn this is real sport man, u real good driver
Pshhh if you want you can put an ls1 into it, there's videos in RU-vid of that, but I doubt that's good for handling and probably makes it not have 50/50 weight distribution
C'est un ECU plug & play fabriqué par TracySport qui tourne un peu plus pauvre et qui avance l'enclenchement du Vtec de 600tr/min. J'ai environ 255cv à 8300tr.
Honda 2000cc bmw 3200cc 250hp. 340hp(ithink) They have 150kg difference but at top speeds this 150kg with those 1200cc more, help bmw... although the s2000 is older (1999 developed) is a better car tha z4 for circuit's and no one can disagree about that.. And of course its honda.. Love Hondas!! And that woman dude!! Omg marry her!!! :-)
The M4 is doing all the Hard Work of cutting the wind the other cars are cruising behind it , having no wind resistance needing way less power to keep up
There's some cool info about drafting on the net. Thanks to your comment I just spent about an hour reading up a bit and came across an article with input from 3 NASCAR race engineers. I think you will find that 100 meters ish is not the kind of drafting distance that will affect the cars behind by a way-less-power margin. I'm really surprised that 250HP is enough for the S2000 to get to 270+ but I guess it comes down to gearing and aerodynamics in the end. It's not like it gained 20kph in the top end from being that far behind the beemers. (I understand your comment is nearly a year old but thought it might interest others to read up on this)
So, an S2000 Mugen, BMW Z4 and a BMW M4 can reach speeds up to 170mph? I was waiting for a cliffedge to appear so that all three could fall off but then even in freefall their terminal velocity wouldn't get that fast.
Holy smokes, 170mph? I honestly had no idea they were that quick top end. Also please make her wear a seat belt. What hate to imagine the mess after an accident at this speed.
A stock S2000 does not shut down the engine at 150mph. It just lacks power and aerodynamics to exceed this speed. Mugen parts improve the engine power and aerodynamics of the car.
I'll be doggoned. I've never gone that fast, but I thought my S2000 would cut out at above 150mph, just like my WRX will cut out if you rev it too high.
A 2004 civic type R or a old Golf GTI with 200hp would be able to keep up The M4 is cutting all the wind , the cars behind are streamlining as result facing way less wind resistance
Andrei Brustur just because you are unable to understand it does not mean it's shit , the reality is a car behind another does not faces wind resistance as result needing way less energy to keep up
+niceguy60 well maybe the z4 yes but the s2000 is far as fk and what u saying about the gti .. I actually have a gti and it doesn't go that fast.. it's not even close
Try staying behind a BMW z4 while the same is cutting all the wind You will be amazed how fast your GTI will go , you dont need to allot of energy stay behind a car which is doing all the hard work
Drafters... They are speed demons. Few cars traveling in line go faster than one, sharing the wind resistance... Even though, the GTI or Type R still wouldn't be able to keep up, because of a big HP difference, and not only that... Z4M has excellent aerodynamics, while the GTI is a bit higher car. Driving behind the Z4M, the GTI could not keep long enogh to share the wind resistance.
Avec l’aspiration, les 280 compteur étaient touchable je pense. Avec la configure que j’ai aujourd’hui, ce n’est plus possible d’atteindre ces vitesses (rajout d’un aileron et pneus plus larges).
z4m with a twin turbo v6? , theres nothing correct in this sentence besides "z4m", 1: bmw has no V6´s , only straight 6 2: the z4m has the same 3.2L NA S54 engine as the e46 m3 (343ps) the twin turbo inline 6 ("v6") ur relating to is the z4 35i(s) of the newer gen. , that has the famous n54 engine like the 135,335,535, and so on
