Yeah it was funny how it looked like a XR80 but sounded like a two-stroke most likely specially with these movies it probably was an old school two-stroke they kind of look like four strokes back in the day
i have an xr200, and from the little experience I have 🤣 just try keeping ur right foot on the peg and dragging ur left foot for wheelies. ive wheelied pedal bikes for a while so the footbrake is still weird to me, and thats helping me learn it.
my 100 has got no baffle on the exhaust!! Mine when it was stock it went 75 Km/h (46.6 mph) on a dirt road uphill with 2 flat tires and a very loose chain.
I got mine to go 50mph then I crashed into a wooden fence and got knocked out on impact and woke up with my leg slamming into the fence right to my junk and bounced off that and saw my helmet which flew off and then I hit the ground. I was in shock and didn’t want to move because I thought I hit my junk everything down there hurt and I couldn’t tell what it hit and I was pale asf and my cousins thought I was dead due to me not moving at all and I was barely even breathing cuz of how the wind got knocked out of me. I rolled over told my cousins to turn off the dirt bike and walk it home and I got myself up and limped half way home before calling for my aunt to pick me up. Both my legs were nothing but black and purple and I was lucky enough to have had it missed hitting my junk. I stayed home for 1 hour then hiked a whole mountain with my cousins and chilled up there.
I have a 99 xr100r and I have a 1 tooth up front sprocket, racing cdi with 12500 rpm rev limit, my tires, better exhaust, 28mm flatslide carb and pod filter, extended rear shock, flipped forks, and shortened intake, I can hit 59mph on gravel and have yet to test it on pavement, looking to go one more tooth up on the front or 2 teeth down on the rear to hit over 60 mph but it can wheelie in 4th gear 60 kph no problem
There ya go sick set up👍🏼 stock these bikes are definitely set up for more low end torque so I’m sure a simple swap of sprockets would make a big difference alone.
So is this bike good? I’m looking for my first dirt bike. I found a 2001 xr 100r for $900. Good condition, but I would love to have a two stroke with a radiator for cool points ( plus I love the sound of two strokes). If it had oil injection that would be great too. Is there any bikes out there that could be recommended? Like models? I know that this is a 4 stroke but what other specifications are there. I really want a good bike and a fast one. I have a lot of area to ride on so it would be nice to not top out all the time. I figure this bike is pretty good. I also love going off roading, I definitely want something with a lot of power, and the suspension pretty good. I’m not to picky most likely won’t hit any jumps but it would be nice. Any thoughts, thanks!
Not sure your age obut 2-strokes make good trail bikes loud and have to shift a lot, very fast blips. Your 4 strokes have a more smooth delivery not as loud. Then the trail bikes. From what it sound like you have some land, you don’t race but you want something that can handle a jump or 2. Here’s my recommendations.being that you’ve never rode before I wouldn’t start off with a 2 stroke I’d go with a cr 100, cr 125, ttr 125, or any 110 pit bike. Ride until you get used to them they can handle some jumps not much but you’ve never rode before. Then I would upgrade to a cr 150f cr 150r cr 85 any of those options.
Ok, thank you. Yes it is probably best that I start on a four stroke especially since I’ve never had a manual clutch before. So I am seriously considering buying a xr100r. The price seems good; it looks great. The ad said it has a little bit of rust, the pictures weren’t helpful just a few pictures of the bike up against a sunset. What’s the usual price for xr 100 r’s? Unfortunately I can’t spend a ton with a bike. Thank you!
@@michiganants150 I haven’t bought a dirtbike since before the pandemic when prices where a lot lower.. I bought mine for 600$ id say now around 1,000$ is a good deal
Ok thank you. That seems to make sense. Once I get good at riding or at least comfortable what mods can I do to a xr 100r? I heard the air is pretty limited. I bet they have thousands of carb kits for these things.
@@michiganants150 I wouldn’t personally mod it, I would sell and buy a faster bike. But they make big bore kits/ bigger carb and some jetting would make it scoot faster. Goodluck
Tracker909 same height as you. Yes it’s small but it’s just my little pit bike to mess around on but it’s comfortable and my taller cousin rides it just fine 👍🏼
@@Nicodipppp the xr100 has a clutch so not for beginner kids learning, you will want to start a kid out on a semi-automatic bike like a crf50 or crf70 then bump them up to using a clutch. But yea this bike is for kids around 7-10 probably depending on experience.
Murderous Legacy Yes these bikes are amazingly reliable. Tough, durable all of the above great bike for beginners or in my case to learn wheelies and just mess around on👍🏼
@@edwinmundo8108 no it’s a trail bike, more torque than top speed. Unless you get different sprockets and put a big bore kit, your only going to MAX MAX at 50 maybe. If you want something fast that’s not a full size bike get a KX65 KX85 CR85 or if you want 4 stroke go crf150r.
