They've hit the mainstream now so I don't they'll ever come back down in price. It's been a good run but now it's no longer a staple in just black homes.
Ketchup is for ppl that dont know how to cook.. the proper way is to add tomatoes.. or for Africans they use tomato paste when they make their some of their dishes
@@nemhardjenkins2191 that has nothing to do with not knowing how to cook. I can't speak for all caribbean people but for us Guyanese when we don't have tomato or tomato paste we use a bit of ketchup. Nothing wrong with that

The oxtail look good fi real, but the rice and peas is whiter than a red headed shut-in. My guess is he either used red peas out of a tin or he boiled the peas, threw off the water then added the beans to the rice while it was cooking. Rice should be added to the peas water when the peas/beans are soft but not mushy. That way the rice and peas have a deeper colour. Still give him a 9/10 on the looks alone though.
It's OK they don't have the secret recipe. Like your mom and my mom would show us. That was just the basics from RU-vid he saw lol. As i was watching i didn't see him have spoon tasting his food. He just threw everything in. How do you know if the food tastes good?To check if needed less seasoning or more. He was just trying a ting that's all they do on RU-vid. If you go to Jamaica or somebody's home that's Jamaican it's a different thing.

There was once a Chinese Cuban restaurant called Bayamo in the Village in New York. Dude cooked Bahamian style peas n rice and I had to give him a good look because I knew this version of it from Nassau in the Bahamas over Blue Hill Road and ''ting like dat" . Motha sick!
