@Joey Ford Lad, the snes wasn't really capable of much because of the memory per game which is why snes games had few soundtacks. Rare had pushed the system to the limits to create dkc. The music for Aquatic Ambience took weeks to complete since David Wise had to do it manually and blend the sounds to make the illusion of long notes. I never said that old music from the snes wasn't good I like it's music and I respect the developers for creating such a masterpiece.
@PickledKong64 It is capable but not much since it had it's restrictions but that makes games like dkc more impressive since it was memberable. Btw i don't know what you mean by what am i listening to so I'll just say Study Me by Zutomayo. :]
There is no snes sound chip it uses midi with soundfonts. The games have the soundfonts in them, and the midi synth plays it. Its more like quicktime, really.
@@marcusbullock630 The SNES does use audio samples but it has nothing to do with soundfonts. On the contrary, people often create soundfonts from samples that were used in SNES games.
It was a different time. When passion and talent was put into every aspect of games. They became legend and we remember them because they decided to go all out.
@@jclkaytwo If Donkey Kong County 2 came out today there would be Nintendo Online Perks you have to pay extra for, maybe a season 1, 2 and 3 pass that gives you the full experience of the game....man how the gaming industry has have changed compared to back then.
@@marcosjulio9337 Not really, If anyone else but David Wise made the soundtrack, they wouldnt even care about adding background sounds to enhance their music and the atmosphere of the level, It Just sounds unnecessary, complicated and people wouldnt even miss a sound effect in the background since nobody used to do that in the 90s. Since Its David Wise However, he went hard on the soundtrack and decided to add those extra noises for imersion, and that's one of the best aspects about his work as a composer, the extra effort to use SFX as part of the level's music to create imersion is just creative and set his work apart from other videogame composers easily, especially during the 90s.
I call 1995 the year of music in video gaming. Lots of good soundtracks were released that year. With this, Chrono Trigger, Trials of Mana, Tales of Phantasia, Mega Man 7, Killer Instinct and Terranigma all in one year, which one is better?
Instant time machine back to Christmas of 1995 when I got this as a 13 year old. Staying up late on break from school navigating yet another Donkey Kong game with not a care in the world. Those 1st two games were so great. Music and memories of my childhood. Miss those days.
I remember renting this game while staying at my grandparents in FL in the 90s. The memories. SNES was the definition of being happy with the simpler things, today games are too complex and just not the same. We were lucky.
It's kinda common for N64 games to have sounds similar to that of the SNES. Typically it could be because the N64 has sounds running off the CPU whereas the SNES has its own sound chip, although the N64 is capable of handling higher quality audio... somewhat. I'm a nerd, I know. xP
We need the Kremlings getting their own Videogame Series with them as the main Protagonists for once it be a welcome change and Spin Off Series too. I would love to play as one of the Kremlings themselves.
Oh? You wanna play as a Kremling? Why not play Donkey Kong: King of Swing in the GBA and play through a bit of the game? Then you can play as Kremling in the minigames
HAHAHAHA YOU EXPECTED A "NAME EVERY KREMLING" JOKE I KNOW YOU DID WELL TOO BAD INSTEAD YOU GOT A 3RD COMMENT OF ONE OF THE 5 GUYS THAT ARE EVERYWHERE!!!
I honestly think this sounds like a more relaxed and positive version of Lava Reef Zone Act 1 from Sonic and Knuckles. That's a good thing, I think both tracks are about as good.
The part from 1:28 sounds like the opening from a song I heard on French Radio called Une Autre Histoire made in the late 80's. Wonder if Dave Wise was inspired from the song..
