I've seen this movie exactly 1 time -- and it was on the day of 9/11. My elementary school let us out early, my mom's workplace let her out early, so she rented a movie for me on her way to pick me up and this was it. Needless to say, I have a very unique reason for why I sat through the whole thing.
“Exactly 1 time” was the funniest part of this sentence. And also, the fact that 9/11 is associated with this movie in your life is just the icing on the cake…
You know how in TV and movies there's sometimes fake movie trailers that are intentionally over the top and ridiculous and you're like "there's no way that could ever exist in any kind of reality"? Theodore Rex is that movie.
A sarcastic comment towards Theodore? If so, it's kinda clever for a movie this bad ... I used to kinda like this movie as a teen, but even back then I was able to tell that it was very cheap. The set and special effect are, well, depend at what you're looking but the underwhelming action, crazy lighting that were common in the nineties, odd post apocalyptic costumes, etc. made it really enjoyable 😜
Funny how you mention how Whoopi looks like she doesn't want to be there. She actually tried leaving the set! She didn't want to be in this movie that much, so she literally tried walking out on the movie during filming! They had to settle in court for her to even be in this! True story! And yea, this movie looks even more bonkers than the Nostalgia Critic review made it out to be!
@@AQUAPHREESH193 I know, she got paid 7 millions for this in total, which I really don't understand. I like Woopi Goldberg but seriously, why force an actor who don't want to do the job if she or he won't give their 110 percent? She looks so pissed all the time that even the expression she has on the poster scares me and makes me afraid of falling asleep, in the fear that I'll see her bending over me with that creepy smile as I close my eyes...
Yessss this must be it! I finally found it- the dinosaur adventure landmark film from the 90’s that everyone says is one of the best movies of all time and forever changed the special effects landscape in filmmaking. This IS that movie.. right?....
I'm aware that I'm commenting on an old video, but I would LOVE to see a guest of The View show a clip of Theodore Rex and then get up and walk out with a giant smirk on their face
You didn't mention how Teddy is anti-gun but wants to be a cop, and Whoopi doesn't agree with that mindset, then once she's incapacitated, suddenly decides Teddy is right about being anti-gun. FOR NO REASON.
The re-enactment of your initial experience with Theodore Rex was eye-opening. Bringing visuals to your pain? It illustrates so much. Your sacrifices will not be in vain. I am humbled and will never take good (or even sub-par "meh, it was okay") movies for granted again. I am a changed woman.
I was always impressed with the animatronics/robotics RE Theodore, but holy shit...the rest of this entire 'film' makes Howard The Duck look like a goddamn masterpiece... Wait. Howard The Duck IS an underappreciated masterpiece of weirdness. This movie still sucks, either way. Great review and insights, as always...funny stuff and very entertaining.
Hey Mark, there's this really awful movie called Whitboyz, and although I have seen Foodfight, Son of the Mask, Catwoman, The Room, Christmas Tree and many, many other horrible movies, to me Whiteboyz still stands out as THE worst. I'd love for you to review it!
FairFuse The best part in Whitboyz was when Flip (danny hoch) gets beat up by some drug dealers. And the only thing he asks them after is "Am I in?" He was so dumb that he thought he was getting jumped into there "gang"! I love that part.
Really enjoy seeing your new videos on my feed. Always funny, always with purpose and always entertaining. Each video is a improvement on the one before. Keep it up. Take as much time between videos as you need. Quality can't really be rushed!
Poor Mark, these movies have destroyed his soul, you're a true hero Sir. You should do more movie reviews of films that have come out recently like you did in the past with Interstellar.
Hillarious review, fun and informative. You know, Whoopi Goldberg was actually sued into starring in this movie. That's the truth. And, sadly, "speciesist" is actually a word now LOL Keep up the great work. Would you consider reviewing "The Ninth Gate" next, please?
@@dimitriwarchief301 never heard of that show. I grew up watching Doug, Rugrats, Catdog, Angry Beavers, rockets power, power rangers, boy meets world etc.
I have watched all of your videos and this is the only one I've seen where I literally feel sorry for you for reviewing it. The clips from this that you showed caused me physical pain, omg, it's so awful!
Haha, I can see what you're saying. I watched it last year for the first time in nearly a decade. It was a little corny, and the kid was a little bratty, but he wasn't so bad that you didn't feel bad for him or understand why he made the decisions. Not a bad movie like this or the other movies on this channel.
Oh god no!! Why did Richard Roundtree decide to be in this movie? I know those Shaft movies didn't pay enough to last for a couple of decades but come on man.
The movie was originally intended for theatrical release, but due to some issues including a poor test run in selected markets meant that it went direct-to-video.
Hahaha. I REMEMBER MY MOM RENTING THIS ON VHS IN THE EARLY 90S BECAUSE HER AND MY SISTERS LOVED SISTER ACT AND WHOOPI AS A KNICKS HEAD COACH IN "EDDIE." THIS WAS 100 TIMES WORSE THAN THOSE AND WAS THE WORST MOVIEVI REMEMBER LAUGHING AT FOR IT BEING SO BAD!
