Decade-long henna/indigo user here, jumping on my hub’s acct. BIGGEST TIP - Do NOT wait 72 hrs to apply indigo - that’s why it didn’t take as well (I can spot low-indigo areas bc my hair is off-black) & a 2nd trmt was needed imo. If you can, apply as soon after washing out henna as possible - same day results are 🔥!

Girl I was blonde and just obsessed how henna feels so I’ve gone to a soft black. I love how glossy and gorgeous my hair is but my indigo runs for days even just running my hands through my hair my nails are blue and the indigo fades in 2 weeks. I don’t even mind colouring often but the running is killing me do you have any tips???
@jeycee
@jeycee Год назад
@@stephaniejensen3582 There’s always a little run-off from unattached-to-henna aka excess indigo, but it shouldn’t be the wash/out you describe. It could be attributable to my avoidance of coconut oil in shampoos & such. Coconut oil can remove henna, so if it’s in the first-5, ESP in leave-ins, I avoid it like the plague. 🚫 Hope that helps!

I have used henna for color twice now and love it. What stopped me from using it at first was feeling like I couldn't control the color I wanted. The I came to terms that my constant coloring of my hair was killing my type 4 hair. Also I didn't always get the results that the box dye promised either. I have gone to henna and haven't looked back. My hair is thriving 😍.

Some of the reasons that I haven't used henna are 1. I didn't really know how to properly use it. 2. I thought it would be messy to work with. 3. I wasn't sure if every hair type (including mine) needed it. 4. I thought it was primarily for naturally straight hair types. 5. I didn't know about the benefits of using it. But I'm glad that you partnered with Curly Proverbz. I'm subscribed to both of your channels. And I'm glad to be learning more and more about henna and herbs. I do have an allergy to sulfa so I'm not sure if that means that I should avoid any haircare regime that includes MSN? I'm only mentioning that because I've noticed that CP has videos were that is used as an ingredient. This was a very informative and great video.

I have been doing the 2step henna/ indigo color process on myself for years. I learned most of what i know from Fareida and Kadijah 💐💐. But ive never used Henna Sooq products. I always have a problem with itchy, sensitive scalp with a bit of a headache when I do the 2 step method on the same day, where henna was left on my scalp for 4 hours and indigo left on for 3/4 hours. It’s always better when I apply the henna one weekend and the indigo the following weekend. So happy that CP did the indigo step, 2 days later. So my question is when the henna is washed out using your shampoo( which I have), is the hair left like that for 2/3 days, no conditioner applied before the indigo is applied? Also when the indigo is washed out, what can be applied? When do I apply my conditioner? I live in the UK and have most of your products, although bought individually not together as a unit.
@shalimshalim6835
@shalimshalim6835 Год назад
Hey 👋 since henna can really dry your hair this is what I do 1. Wash hair with shampoo 2. Apply the henna leave for 4hrs 3. Rinse with conditioner nicely while detangling 4. Apply the indigo leave for 4hrs or more 5. Rinse hair with oil free conditioner or plain water to avoid removing the dye, as all henna dyes take up to 48hrs to be released 6. Apply leave-in conditioner then oil the hair 2 or 1 day after application to allow the dye to be locked in. You can put leave-in conditioner after indigo or not depends on you but Iike to put to mosturize my hair and avoid breakage.

After stopping it within a couple months my curl pattern returned. I did love using it and the color was phenomenal. As a first step to color my stubborn greys I would use 25% henna and 75% indigo. Then follow 100% indigo for the second step. Any suggestions on how to retain the curl pattern using henna.

I'm starting to learn more about this all from you and curly proverbz and I like what I see. I'm interested in the benefits of the henna treatment and definitely would love to color grays. My concerns are that I don't want my hair to be jet black, just dark brown. I don't want my curls to loosen at all. Post partum and hormones have me working to get my hair to bounce back as it is. And I don't want my hair to dry out. I struggle with keeping my hair moisturized. And I'd love to do the process in just 1 step instead of 2 steps. My question: Should I do the one step process with 70% indigo, 30% henna, mixed with amla and aloe vera to achieve dark brown and not compromise my curl pattern? And if I find that my grays are stubborn, do I just reapply the same cocktail and how long should I wait before reapplying?

If you have cowlics, will henna help straighten out them? If I accidentally get henna on my forehead and/or back of the neck, will it rinse out in the shower after done with the henna treatment or will my skin remain dyed?
@HennaSooq
@HennaSooq 2 года назад
It may straighten them out, but we're not 100% sure. Also, the henna will stain your skin. We recommend using our henna care balm around those areas to avoid dying the skin. hennasooq.com/henna-hair-coloring-and-body-care-balm/
@ajh2295
@ajh2295 Год назад
If you wipe any henna drips off right away or within about 10 minutes, it shouldn't stain very deeply (therefore also won't last very long), but if you have drips that dried on your skin for the hours you had your hair wrapped up, your skin will remain stained for a few days. It WILL come off naturally since the oils in your skin will repel and expel it. I'm super-pale, so my hairline and drips tend to remain orange for at least 4 or 5 days before washing fully off. If your skin is more oily or if the drip is on an area of skin that is not as delicate or thin, it will come off much faster than if the area is dry (for example, your neck will be free of staining long before your temple area clears up). Applying an oil-based moisturizer to your skin will help lift the staining after the fact. You can gently exfoliate a bit to help lift the dyed area but don't overdo it b/c it will just damage your skin - moisture and conditioning the area works best). If you need alternatives to prepping your hairline, ears, neck area that are low-cost, basically anything that'll act as a barrier works. I use coconut oil sometimes or even do a face mask routine at the same time. Even your usual moisturizer will help block the drips from staining. Just wipe what you can when you're done applying the henna or indigo since the time the drips are left on really affects the strength of the stain that settles.

I am dying to color my hair with henna. I have black hair that is graying in front and want dark hair with a dark red hue. Want it healthier and thicker. Is that possible? How?
@ajh2295
@ajh2295 Год назад
You could probably use the two-step technique in this video on just the grey hairs in front - maybe extending the length of time the indigo is left on in the second application and perhaps mixing a bit of henna with indigo to darken the orange effect on the first application. Since your hair is already black, you wouldn't need to do this to all of your hair - just the greys. If those turn out well, you can get the rest of the look you want by simply applying an all over henna application. Because henna is a TINT, it cannot lighten your hair so if you want dark hair with a red hue but your hair is already black, a simple application of just henna will give you your same black hair but your strands will be coated with the tint so when the sunlight hits your hair it will have a reddish hue.

Thank you so much your chips are so incredibly helpful all of them and I totally enjoy farita with curly proverbs she is more than wonderful she is the one that started my journey of even considering that my hair was salvageable the question that I have in reference to hair color I don't use that anymore or nor do I bleach anymore I do use Hannah or I have in the past I guess it's a better thing to say but recently I want to get a darker color and I understand about mixing with indigo but I really am a little lazy right now and I don't know if I want to make another investment in a herb and the time that it takes to do this now I will do this if this is the better choice but my question is have you heard of b i g e n I was curious if you have heard of this as a hair color I've used it in the past like over 10 years ago over 15 years ago and it left my hair very soft and manageable but I'm not sure what it is I was what I've read so far is that it is a henna but I don't know if it has metallics so I'm trying to stay as natural as possible but I like to hear your viewpoint on it if you could respond to my question I would deeply appreciate it thank you.

Her hair is beautiful, but it is not 3A3C, her hair is more like 4a with maybe a smidgen of 3C but that’s mainly 4a hair (My hair is 3B/3c curls)

I watched this and followed it to color my hair using 70% henna and 30% indigo for a reddish brown color. Oops it turned out carrot orange! I'm afraid to color it again for fear of making it worse. I am salt and pepper with a great deal of grey and silver. What the heck am I going to do? There is a great deal of pressure on me to go to a professional for help but there is no one that specializes in henna.

What color was your hair to start? Try again with 50% henna and 50% indigo. If your hair was light, this is normal. The henna will be much more vibrant on light hair, as you do more applications it will darken. If you do this recipe I just mentioned, you should get a rice reddish brown color.

If your skin is close in color to the henna, there's no need to apply a balm to the skin around the edges. This applies to darker skin tones i.e. people with sub-saharan African skin tones. This may not apply to mixed people and people with lighter tones in general.

It’s ridiculous that distilled water needs to be used. Do you know how expensive that is to source ?
@HennaSooq
@HennaSooq 7 месяцев назад
You can use any water, distilled is just best because it doesn't have any minerals. I'm not sure where you are located, but if you're in the USA you can get distilled water at any grocery store for under $2

I pay $1.07 for a gallon of distilled water, but if it's not available near you, you can use regular tap water. If you bring tap water to a rolling boil for 20 minutes, you will boil out most of the minerals that are found in tap water.

@@Anonymous1dskjoadi93 yes, I do understand that. I was offering an alternative to help reduce the minerals, for those who find distilled water difficult to source.

She has been using henna/ayurvedic herbs for nearly a decade, so she's not doing a virgin application, it builds up on the hair strand over time. She does have grays, if you look on her channel, she shows this up close.

This Trial was not done with integrity. This woman (appx 30 yrs old) had black hair at the beginning of the trial. What is the purpose of having a test subject with black hair?😑 Integrity is key if you are promoting a product, especially with Ayurvedic products. Intelligent people are really paying attention. 🤔
