I believe that RPM principles of movement apply really to so many other things than just ballet and dance. I would love to hear how you apply these principles to martial arts.

Im trying to learn muay thai, and punching, kicking and knee strikes fundamentally revolve around keeping your center of gravity intact at all times, and moving and rotating on the balls of your toes. Im gunna use this every day to check posture!

WOW I also came here because I was asking Google, "HOW do I know where my center of gravity is?" Hugely important in one of the nei gong movements I've been exploring, but the instructor didn't explain just how it was all supposed to work. This video is REALLY helpful to at least point me in the right direction (even if I can't actually do it yet.) THANK YOU to you and your dancers !!

Can you do a video (or at least talk about sometime) on how to make your thighs less bulky, specifically inner and outer thighs, for dancers? Or maybe just how to keep them in check and not make them bigger. I see videos and articles for regular people, but dancers have muscles that we need there, so I was just wondering what your thoughts are on this, especially since this is something that I struggle with.

Hi Rachel, This is a great question and something I can certainly address going forward. But in short for now, if you are lengthening your leg muscles as opposed to shortening or gripping while you work you will develop longer muscles instead of short bunchy muscles.

Rachel Walker hi! I had the same issue, now I'm doing pilates exercises from linda wooldridge channel and they really helped me, also she has tons of videos focused on inner and outer thighs! Hope you find it helpful too!

Can you do a talk for the elderly ex ballet dancer who still endure these principles. Please explain how to remove the tension ballet has instilled,, so that these many poor soles can avoid or stop leakage, return diaphragmatic movement and reverse forward head and shoulders position. The erroneous core stability only adds more tension which they can not hold, so you can’t use that.

A very Important topic !! Zippers should not cause any tension and creates aligned Posture, bring the back and front of the body together when you zip the rectus abdominals engage the latissimus dorsi meaning the back of the body and throws you over your center of balance !! Now you are in the control zone all joints aligned

Do you mean you zip down, but unlike a normal zipper you are zipping y9ur muscles in?
