I know you get comments about these being boring, but I'm going to miss these build videos when you're back on the water. I'm looking forward to adventure videos, too, but these have been oddly fun and satisfying!

The fact they are retrofitting hull one to their standards speaks volumes about Seawind. Makes one much more comfortable about getting an early production boat. Also gives a glimpse how they will stand behind their product after the sale.

The build descriptions are fascinating, and the quality and flexibility of the workmanship is impressive. Your multihull building series is the best I have come across for catamarans, and much appreciated.

I love the way things have changed headboard why not makes sense. The hand rails I thought an oversite, the wood work is spot on as the build videos have been. Must admit looking forward to seeing you sitting at the helm foot up sailing.

Personally, I've been loving these build episodes. It's interesting to see how these boat come together. I also watch RAN sailing, as they are building their new boat also. Watching sailing videos are fun but the build videos are just as interesting. Thanks for all your hard work.

Love all these build detail videos. Hope you’ll have a “from the workbench” segment in your videos (or maybe separate videos?), to keep us up to date on maintenance and small issues. I love the scenery and travel aspects of your videos, but I love the nerdy detail work that makes it possible too.

Nic - thankyou - a really good feedback loop from Seawind - that is so rare for it to come through to the next build. Excellent result for you and reflects really well on Seawind. If you want to see a really excited couple about collecting their new Seawing - Tula's endless summer are over the moon with how things are playing out 1160 and they are just so happy

I noticed that they have installed blinds that are fan-folded........... There are "Cellular Blinds" that form cells when let down and keep the heat out in summer and heat in for cold weather. I have them in my house and they are excellent ............ There are even double cellular (thick) blinds available. These are in opaque and sun blocking types. Worth looking into .................... enjoy

The blinds caught my attention as I have a Seawind 1250 with the Oceanair Retractable Blinds. I am curious as to how they compare & how they will wear, especially when they get mould on them ? At present it is a simple wipe over a constant flat surface to remove any mould with those it doesn't look possible let alone easy ??

I for one am fascinated by all the design redesign and construction features as I would imagine anyone who plans to actually sail and be able to maintain a boat as a long term cruiser. Knowing how your boat is built and how systems work must be invaluable.

I really appreciate the effort you are making to reveal the technical details of the design and build. I'm certain those of us who understand the engineering and craftsmanship skills necessary to construct a marine marvel like your boat are indebted to you for your documentary work. RR2 is going to be rugged and elegant. Well done!

The changes on hull-1 really do look better than the first iteration. While some people might scoff at using veneer over foam core panels, the simple fact is that the savings in weight are a major benefit for any sailing boat. That weight savings also means you have more weight-carrying capability for your personal stuff so you can live and operate that much better while underway or just living on the boat.

The Vietnam chapter of this channel is quickly coming to a close and quite frankly I never thought I'd find myself feeling like I was going to miss it, but I definitely will. This has been so exceedingly interesting to see every step of the way from concept images all the way to ocean-going hardware and it has been an invaluable resource for learning as well as interesting insights into the country and its people, which is really cool. All that said, it's going to be even more satisfying seeing the culmination of all this in the form of the boat splashing and finally spreading its wings.

You did a good job dancing around the 1170 secret development and build that was going on parallel to the 1370! Hull one and two of the 1170 there in Vietnam rest in new factory in Turkey? First 1170 already in US and being commissioned by new owners who also have a RU-vid blog. They kept it secret too. Good job all around but still curious as to why? Did they not want the 1170 to step on 1370 orders?

These videos are not boring. Yet, un-met increasing expectation to see the final boat on water takes excitement away. Also confidence goes down! I put my name on a boat for a delivery planned in 2026. Now I ask myself if it is realistic to expect my number of the hull to be ready in 2026? How fast they will finalize and streamline the production for the standard of the boat they aspire.

The vacuum table is to apply clamping pressure, at 14.7 pounds per square inch. That's ~126,083.28 debens per square cubit if you are an ancient Egyptian. The air is evacuated and atmospheric pressure places force on the content of the bag in a uniform manner across the surface.

The reason why the timber comes in rough sawn is when it is machined it will move if its left for an amount of time , it will bow and twist when it takes on moisture and tension is released when the timber is made thinner , so its better to plane it up when needed to reduce the amount of movement , its better to leave it in a thick board that is thick enough to plane flat

I would be ecstatic if you never left the boatyard although I am sure you would not feel the same. There are tons of interesting things methods working practises master craftsman all working together in harmony to produce these excellent boats. I feel you have barely scratched the surface of a tiny part of their construction. Admittedly it is not everyone's cup of tea but the cruising content of so many sailing channels tend to blur and become mundane after all how many times can you go how cute about some wild pigs living on their own island. Whereas boat repair or boat building presents a puzzle and a challenge and showcases someones skills.
