Now you need to know how fast you can "grow up" by getting a mushroom in every Mario game.

The “punching butterflies for lives” trick in Mario 64 only works in certain courses where butterflies run from Mario, not just circle around him. But be careful, some of them might have bombs!

It all makes sense now. When i'm told to get a life, the people want me to become a professional gamer or discord moderator and so I can do what I love and get paid for it! This video is so helpful!

by the way, only the butterflies that fly away from you contain the 1ups, so you just gotta chase after and punch em. theyre in certain locations but i forget where

3:43 the answer is no believe or not. You can specifically pick up a couple of bonus star bits that will always spawn right behind you. However since the camera was technically locked, the only way to see this, is in debug mode. I speak from experience, as a kid one of my friends in middle school homebrewed their wii and went dicking about in galaxy for an cosmic Easter eggs

Bowser's Fury didn't count. A powerup isn't the same thing as an extra life. I believe you need 100 coins for a life.

Concerning the "Get a Life" phrase: I remember passing by a guy at GamesCom who wore a Shirt with the Text: They told me to grow up (a Super Mushroom half-concealed under "ow up") and get a Life (a 1-Up half-concealed under "ife"). That was good humor on my opinion. I mean I still remember it years later.
