I am not selling a product I’m showing people the culture shock between Europe (I’m from the Netherlands) and America. Do you have any tips how to make that content worthwhile to watch? Awesome video Mike. Question, do you recommend scheduling videos? E.g i schedule 7 videos for the next 7 days. And if that doesn't matter, what if i delete a scheduled video, will I be punished by the algorithm for deleting a not yet posted video? Thanks.

You can certainly schedule videos but that only works on desktop and limits your ability to edit the videos on TikTok. Deleting a scheduled video is the same as deleting a draft. It won’t hurt anything.

Yeah gurus like to talk about little stuff that doesn’t matter and is always changing so they can post “the algorithm changed!” videos for massive views every couple weeks. Algorithm changes do happen, but most things don’t matter more than good ideas, stopping the scroll, and viewer retention.

I don’t know much about that honestly. I focus on people creating content using their own skills and expertise. TikTok is cracking down on that type of faceless content though, so I would review the community guidelines to understand what’s permitted and what isn’t.

Great vid Mike. i see many ppl here saying that u helped them to improve with their videos. So I feel I can trust u. So .... I have a couple of questions: 1. you said posting anytime a day because ppl are online anyway. hmm. What about if I'm targeting ppl from different countries? For example, I live in Europe _which I don't_ and I want to post to Americans? 2. I'm a guy with multiple interests. It seems very difficult to nich down into one thing. is there any way to go around that? Let's say i want to entertain and educate or motivate. Because i like doing both. What u think I should do? 3. when to give up and start over? Like deleting your account and make a new one. Start fresh? I'm posting every day, for 10 days now. I made a new account and u can say I'm just trying different things, u also can say I made all the mistakes that anyone one can possibly do. LOL, I've seen guys complaining and whining about their views for months or even years. I DO NOT want to be like them. 4. When should I keep testing things out if I don't have a viral video to study? For how long? And is testing things out would harm your account? 5. u said some ppl's contents suck. I agree. 1. Unfortunately TikTok shows your videos to people in your region, so I'm not sure that you can do anything to have your videos shown in the US when you're in Europe. 2. You have to pick one thing to start. I get it, I'm the same way and have a ton of interests. But only one thing per account. Just make more accounts. With that said, educating and entertaining and motivating aren't mutually exclusive. Education is the main thing I do, but I definitely try to entertain and motivate as well. 3. Figure out exactly what you want your account to be about, start fresh and then don't quit or start over. A new account will not fix low views because it's not an account problem it's a your content isn't good problem. The reason people never see results is because they post a bunch of random ish or they blame the algorithm and never take responsibility for their views and try to improve. Don't be like that. TikTok is awesome because if your video is good it gets tons of views even if you have no followers, but if it sucks and people don't watch it then it stops getting views even if you have tons of followers. That means that unlike something like RU-vid you have a completely objective number (views) telling you whether your videos are good or not. If you aren't getting the views, own it and improve. 4. We want to experiment but that doesn't mean do whatever you think. Study other creators in your niche. Look at the videos that did way better than normal recently (outliers) and make your version of those videos. That should be 100% of your content until you start getting results. Don't reinvent the wheel, create your version of proven videos. 5. Just because you think a video sucks doesn't mean other people do. When I say people's content sucks I mean within the context of their direct competitors and niche, not compared to other niches. The fart thing is weird, but there are probably some really weird people that get their rocks off to that kind of thing. But that's not your competition (I hope...)

I always get between 20-30 likes within the first 10 minutes but the views stop at 200-300 everytime. A few more likes trickle in after that initial boost when the video first drops but it feels like the video doesn’t get thrown back into the mix beyond that.

Watch time is the main factor that determines views. If people like your video but doesn’t watch the whole way through that’s you going to prevent your video from getting pushed.

@@MikeYanda if I think my videos are honestly as quality as most other content I see in my niche how long should I give it before starting over? I admit when I first started my tik tok I was just learning to edit and didn’t do anything other than put up the video up with put the popular hashtags. Didn’t follow or like videos until learning later on about making your fyp the same as the content you’re trying to put out. But I’ve got my fyp showing me the right things and followed a decent amount of people by now

@@robmarley420If I can give some advice, I think a good alternative is to create a parallel account, where you will apply everything you learned during this process that you mentioned. Don't abandon your old account, keep posting, but less frequently, like 1 video a day and focus your attention on the new account. Remember to warm up your new account , after creating it spend 2-3 days warming up the account, liking and following pages that your audience is interested in

The biggest thing to keep in mind is that the views you get are a completely objective measure of how "good" your content is. If people like it and watch it, then you get more views. If they don't, you don't get the views. A lot of people fall into the trap of saying, "my content is better quality or my content is really good, but I'm not getting views" but the reality is that there is still something wrong or the views would be there. To be successful you have to have the mindset that it's all in your control and if the views aren't where you want them, there is still something to improve. All of that to say, starting over isn't going to change the results you are getting. You can start over if you want, but something has to improve for the views to actually increase.@@robmarley420

I recently worked on getting the fyp all things related to what I’m posting and followed other creators doing similar things and the interactions and views have been 4x better on my posts recently. Not the end all be all for sure but it’s a start in the right direction.

If Im posting 2 videos daily, both get about 200 views, 0 followers and 1-5 likes, can my videos eventually like, have more views and stuff, or my videos will have same exact views even if its like my 50-nth video? I forgot I've been reposting it works but on a smaller #. I have two questions. I have some bigger followers w/ 15 to 30 thousand followers that continue to send me the videos in my DM should I answer them or view the videos they do it consistently that's question number. I do the same but they don't return the favor. The second question ❓ is should I keep my personal account or my business account or both. I think part of my problem is I continue to switch? I recommend using a creator account unless you plan to use TikTok shop. Since it looks like you’re digital products Creator is better. Just ignore those DMs. It’s not going to do anything and it’s not a good way to grow.

Study other art accounts. That’s really the most important thing. What’s working for them? Experiment making your own versions of their highest performing video styles. Then analyze what worked for you and do more of that.

I upload 2 videos a day and I get 1.500 views max in each video. Some videos have 900 and some videos have 1.300 or 1500 views. I started before 3 days and this is the 3rd day. How to go viral as a new creator? My niche is to upload edits and photos about an actor that I like( Christian bale). It’s because every video is judged independently. If your views have dropped then go back and study what was working previously and go back to those topics, formats, etc

RU-vid Shorts are very tricky... It's easy to get many views but it's extremely hard to keep up with it. I learned it the hard way, after my 21k channel died (literally no one watches my videos). Something that I've regretted the most is not establishing a relationship with the subscribers. I feel like not doing that was my biggest mistake.

can you please explain this, i have a tiktok video that got 17 million views, and only two other videos that have gone above 10 million, the same videos have been reposted more than 5 times before they went viral, why did they got stuck at less than 1K views on every repost but they skyrocket randomely from time to time, and at the same time some videos are getting blocked for originality reasons and the appeals are rejected despite being my original content. One thing i don't understand... If i post a 1 min video and people watch 15sec (average)... It will keep the people longer on the platform, than a 5sec video with 5sec watchtime... But i guess the algo want to see, that people watch "the full video" as a sign for a good video

They want people completing videos and engaging with the videos. If you watch an entire 8 second video and go to their profile to see what else they have, that is higher value then watching 15 seconds of a long video and then swiping away. That swipe away is a big factor too.

Is watch time more important? Or is the percentage of full video watched? I have a 5.6 second video that the average watch time is 5.4 seconds and 45% watched the full video. I read in multiple comments that you state that 100% watch time is crucial for vitality. My question is: is that percentage referring to the average watch time or the Watched full video % ?

The reality is that it’s a combination of the two along with a number of other factors. But the average watch time (or view duration) is most important. So the 5.4 seconds you mentioned more so than how many finished it.

I posted on TikTok for a while then decided to switch my content to something more original. I’m now getting low views. Could that be because my content completely changed and my videos are now being shown to the wrong people? I feel my videos are decent enough for more watch time, likes, and comments but now I’m stuck back in that 200 view jail. Just curious on your thoughts behind this.

i need some advice/guidence. Im a small youtube/streamer/tik toker whos trying to find out how to perform the best i can. I post my funniest clips and moments from my streams and Im really struggling with tik tok. The videos that do great on reels and shorts preform terribly on tik tok. TikTok is a different beast. You’re not going to do as well with clips. Create a story. Have a text based headline or verbal hook to get them curious and stop swiping. Then deliver on the promise.

I wouldn’t quit. The secret to successful creators and entrepreneurs is that they just don’t quit no matter how long it takes. They just say I’m doing this and keep showing up. If you want it there is no reason you should quit. Just keep trying new things and learning until things take off.

No, posting time doesn’t cause you to get zero views. It’s usually a policy violation.

What’s your thoughts on editing a video inside the TikTok app only? I’m sure TikTok wants us to take full advantage of its features, but do you think it’s a huge factor when it comes to getting more views?

It doesn’t seem to matter. I edit in the app because I find it to be more convenient but videos I’ve done outside the app performed just as well. My clients do it both ways also and I haven’t seen a difference.

Just post on the one you want to grow. You don’t have to delete the old one, just make sure you don’t post the same content on both because it can get you banned. If you’ve already done it, don’t worry just don’t do it again in the future.

It’s not really harmful as long as they are watching the video. Them just liking it and swiping away may hurt more than help. But if they are watching the video the whole way through it’s definitely helpful. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t try to game the system though. Your video is going to be shown to 200-300 people on the FYP who have never seen your content before. Make the best video possible that grabs their attention and keeps them watching. Do that and the views will come.

That may be why. Tiktok is really cracking down on these account since there are so many copyright violations, and sometimes posts that didn't violate the rules are getting caught in it because they are trying to dial in the detection system still. This is very recent. @@juriwechselberger3631

There is definitely an element of luck, but it’s more within your control than you think. You’ll never have success if you go into it with the mindset that it’s luck instead of studying what works and improving though.

You have two choices as a creator (or in life in general) - You can choose to believe that it's all luck and out of your control, or you can choose to believe that you are responsible for all the results you get. The former usually doesn't make it. The latter means that you're able to use the results as data to guide your decisions, and you are constantly improving which will lead to better results over time. Of course there is a luck component, but growing on this platform is not all luck. There is a reason some people do very well and others don't. It's not luck. So choose to believe what you want, but it's been my experience over the past decade and across every social media platform that the people that blame outside factors or luck rarely succeed. We create our own luck in this world through our actions. Don't worry about what you've already posted, just go post more stuff and continuously improve so that you start to get some of that luck.@@jaqz7361

and what if same Tiktok videos that are making 200 views, are making triple or five times more on RU-vid Shorts or Fb reels, I mean, they still suck or is there something else? I have seen ppl, who are crushing it on Tiktok and making kind of similar views to mine on Shorts. Why so? Do I suck only on Tiktok and are the other guys only great there, but on Shorts we are having pretty much the same results...Idk, but for me there is also something else like the location factor is way more stronger on Tiktok and not that much on RU-vid

They are different algorithms! It’s really common for videos to work on other platforms and not TikTok because the algorithm is so much different. The good news is that if you can crack the TikTok code they repurpose to most other platforms really well. Focus on studying what works for others on TikTok and using that to develop your content ideas.

I’m growing my personal brand. I own a digital marketing agency and a very small portion of the people who discover me on RU-vid will hire me to help them grow their brand and their business. So on the one hand, it’s in my best interest because growing an audience is important for any online business owner. On the other hand I’ve been in the online business and social media world for over a decade now and I learned a lot of what I know from the kindness of other people that share their knowledge for free. Now I have the chance to pay it forward. The reality is it’s both. You don’t grow a business without putting much more value out into the world than you take.

It’s because each video is judged independently on its performance and only gets pushed if it hits certain metrics. So you can have one video go viral and the next flop. It just means you need to study the successful videos to figure out what you did better in those so that you can replicate it more frequently

Reposting your viral videos get flagged by tiktok algorithm as not eligible for for you page... been there done that. It now recognizes identical content from your profile. Also from other profiles. Tried this by posting the same video with different title on more than 1 account

How long of a break did you take? It’s not surprising views dropped off if you took a long one, because creators get rewarded by having videos pushed more when you post daily for long periods of time. You’ll just have to get back into it and earn the views again.
