Just a guide on how I paint brown horses. Thought I’d share it with the group and hopefully it might help a few people.
Sorry for the poor lighting and sound. I was just going to scrap the whole thing but as a few people have asked me to do this video and it took such a long time to do I decided to put it out there.

The blaze, the star, the snip, and the bald face, always useful to remember when painting a variety of horse faces. I really enjoyed that video. Very relaxing and informative.

@@leont66wargaming31 definitely i currently do less than you. I paint brown. Black leather work. Dark brown tail etc. Then a agrax earthshade wash and there done. 😆

Very good horses turned out nice. Try painting the tips of the ears, eye lids, and top of the nostrils with just bit of your high light color.

Great video leon tip on horses do keep your own style is that the best because I tryed different ways on you tube to many painting different ways and it seems not to work keep coming back to your style

Always welcomed this kind of tutorial . Very interesting video . Personnally I like to paint the " white socks " before the wash to save one step . Was a pleasure watch your video .

Nice. I’ll maybe do a Salute meet up video nearer the time. Still not quite back to normal yet. I hope I will be by the time salute happens lol. If not I’ll just have to keep going for a sit down and a rest every now and then.

Hurumph Hurumph terrible production quality lol. Come on Leon, we just want to see your excellent painting skills. Content over form every time. As ever, fast or not, you have done a superb job! I might try sticking the cavalry figure on first myself. Seems like a good idea.

Thanks Matt. I don’t always glue the figures on first. It all depends on the riders details. Like for Hussars I’d paint them separately

I use super glue on metals, these are plastic so I use Revell poly cement. Although I’ve messed up on one of the riders and glued something on wrong. If I’d of used superglue I could of prised it off, not so with poly cement lol. I’ll show my mistake in the next video lol

Excellent! I've always found trying to pain horses intimidating. I have some 1/72 WW2 Cossacks that I need to get to eventually.

Thanks for this, I found it really useful as I normally just use contrast paints and highlight some white socks or blazes on my horses, but you have inspired me to go back and add in more variations to the others as well.

Great stuff Leon - a few good idea I'll deffo file away there! That reminds me...I need some flat earth (mine's run out!). You're another one that uses make-up brushes for drybrushing...going to have to give that a try. As a married man with three daughters, I may have one I can steal somewhere...

I was going to do this as the next video. But unfortunately something went wrong and the footage got corrupted. I will try again the next time I paint some cavalry
