Now, there are two platformers and one RPG, two males and one both, three Easterns, one 1980's rep, one 1990's rep and one 2000's rep that references the 80's, two returning publishers and one new publisher, two returning series and one new series.

I think sakurai watched his videos and based the fighters off the math, he probably wanted to see fan suggestions and stumbled upon this video

Well, tô be honest, these are very generic categories, and the method he's using to "predict" characters leaves a lot of space to imagination. The real problem will come with the last three or two characters, who will be too unpredictable for this method. But still, this is a mathematical wonder, so it does its job

If smash only added 1 purely female character with each dlc pass set, you would probably bet that the same would happen here, right? Think of it as trying to follow trends in stock or behavioral analysis which is all basically educated guesses.

@@Sean-nr3ts actually, Ryu and Crash are the ones who fit the remaining math. Xenoblade took the other RPG rep. So supposedly the last two characters are platformers. Though, the current rumored characters are Crash and Monster Hunter. MH would break the math in the end, but I don't think they'll see it as a lost if it takes up to the literal last character to break their system.

​@@SeanWheeler100 That or the theory is insufficiently refined. The thing about science, is that theories are never definite, they have to be adjusted to suit new data. I'd say the issue is that one of the character classes is mistakenly assigned: there's a lack of category for "multiple character" character, which Mythra/Pyra, Banjo/Kazooie (and maybe Joker/Persona) falls under.

@@sinteleon There was a "both" category for characters like that. Steve and Alex took one of the "Both" slots. But "Both" means one male and one female, so both characters being female would put Pyra/Mythra under "Female" and Min Min already took the only female slot he predicted so the math is wrong. Rex is in Pyra and Mythra's Final Smashes, but Final Smash characters do not count, otherwise the inclusion of Spring Man, Master Mummy and other male ARMS characters would put Min Min under "both." And besides, a guy predicting how many characters of a specific category there would be would very likely be proven wrong just like when he made his own character predictions that didn't come true.

Just putting this out there cause I would love to see Geno make it to smash, and using your theory, Geno could have a special thing where he has to time his special attacks kinda like Incineror’s side B but and he could use it with like Geno whirl or Geno beam or Geno blast and he could have another special move where he can get a buff from Geno boost and it can show up as a meter thing like hero, joker, and Steve does, this goes along nicely with your theory about special character abilities

Something that ties in with this that also ties in with the characters original game would be to maybe allow Heavy to customize which weapons he is using before going into a fight just like in Tf2. each weapon would have a different effect on the opponent allowing for lots of customization and weapon combos to be used.

Crash, Rayman and Geno could be all very unique

The Era and East/West categories are less fallacies but more of a concern in the sense that they would come up as a question when considering characters, even if not taken too seriously. [Edit] Unlike Gender, which has a higher chance of not being brought up in character selection questioning.

True, I feel like it would be pretty petty for Nintendo to not consider adding a character tons of people want just because they're a Western character.

These predictions have a really weak basis. I doubt either of three big considerations come up so much as market appeal/nostalgia/impact. But trying to predict the factors that make a likely smash DLC with only eight points of data is a bit silly in the first place. Maybe they could take Wii U DLCs into consideration too.

@@ivansotelo4622 Nah, they better not do that. Conker is still way more popular and beloved than even the Battletoads. He’s even the second face of Rare, and about as equal as Banjo-Kazooie too I’d say. If there’s going to be a third Rare character in the future though, then yeah it could probably be a more appropriate time to put in the Battletoads by that point. If they do Conker next though, then they’re likely gonna wait on the next Rare rep again though with Master Chief if Steve is anything to go off of... Hopefully Steve isn’t the real “Microsoft rep” of Pass 2, since Mojang was individually trademarked for this game, but not Rare. Because if we can get Conker in the same pack too, then that would make it all worth it honestly.

In modern day, no one's playing it anymore unless they're specifically making vids on the character or talking about smash inclusion. Saying you hope a character doesn't get in just cause "specific groups want him" is just... Dumb. There's a reason Geno's number 2, people want him in the game. Regardless of reason (waluigi's potential lies majority in meme factor for example), if people want them enough, nintendo would be daft to not consider it. People that didnt play metroid but know Ridley wanted him in, should he be removed? Some nintendo fans have never touched TLOZ but know its importance, should those characters be removed? Of course not, the characters and series have beloved history to them. You don't have to play every game to understand a characters importance. I've never played Pikmin and I know many others havent either, but Olimar and pikmin is a very important character/franchise and his inclusion is great. Above all else, Geno has the "coming home" effect that banjo has. Since Square has Geno, it would be remarkable to see geno come back for a nintendo cameo again. You can be disappointed sure no problem, but saying you hope a character doesnt make it in for that reason just doesn't make sense.

@@darcidious99 The thing is... Geno is not important. Or relevant. I sincerely don't want him to get in, not because other people do, nor because I want to disappoint those people, but rather because I don't see what's so special about him.

@@m0j026 right that's fine, I'm the same with waluigi. I think he's an irrelevant character that people only want in because it would be funny. Regardless though, I still know how important the funny purple man is to some people. Geno may not be important to you, but to many others he was the single best part about mario rpg, a series that inspired the likes of paper mario and the mario and Luigi series. Banjo is a character I have no attachment too, but his importance not only to Nintendo history but to the Microsoft vs. Nintendo relationship and fan love of him makes him an incredible pick. Going back, there's nothing wrong with being dissatisfied with a character pick. I was somewhat upset with Byleth and very underwhelmed by min mins playstyle. But to say they shouldn't be in the game is preposterous. There's no "wrong" answer, any character being represented is incredible even if I don't inherently want it. If waluigi somehow did make it in, I'd still laugh and play him with everyone else. I desperately want hollow knight to get in, but I understand he's a more niche pick and that the odds are against him. If he's not in, then that's just as fine and I'll deal with it. If/when (at this point when seems more appropriate) Geno gets in, its fine if people don't "get it", cause so many will want to experience him and see what he's about. I wanna play Banjo and persona just cause the characters are beloved and remarkable even if I don't have attachments. That's what makes this game so amazing is that literally any character/series can be represented and thousands will be ecstatic to see it, or new players will become interested. But again, the logic of "this character isn't important to me therefore shouldn't be in" is horrible. At that point, no one would be in the game, or We'd literally only have mario.

@@darcidious99 Maybe I phrased it wrong, but it's not like I'm going to be upset with any character that gets in, I just personally don't why people want Geno, and this comes from the guy that was excited for Joker even though he had no idea what Persona was and isn't even into anime in general. @@darcidious99 Square owns Geno yeah, but Nintendo owns the rights of Super Mario RPG. According to Square, Geno is not important. Cloud and Lara Croft are more important than Geno. Also Geno is not even the main character of Super Mario RPG. The main character is Mario since it's a Nintendo game that was developed by Square. The DLC characters except PP has been main characters from their series with a spirit board. Sorry to bust your bubble, but Geno ain't getting in Ultimate and instead he's gonna come back as a returning Mii Gunner Costume.

Licensing is still the main boon for some of these characters. Those that were costumes before have high likelihood of coming back again as costumes. Most companies would likely renew the deal. I'm talking about 3rd party costumes btw. Well maybe except the Chocobo ones lol. Decidueye was hampered by his design. He's a bird that uses projectile. A humanoid wrestler bi-ped is still easier to do if you were on a time crunch.

Bruh they can’t just add an entire second game into their vanilla game. If y’all want a story based game in the Smash Universe, ask for a spin off. Otherwise, all we’re gonna get is an Okay fighting game with a mediocre story (Ultimate), or a great story with a subpar fighting game (Brawl).

@Agent Ombraura look, okay, my point is that both aspects of each game could be better. And one of the reasons that they aren’t is that you’re essentially trying to cram an entire game within another game. I like World of Light, but the actual narrative story is incredibly lacking. But narrative story is what people want out of a Smash Bros story mode, which is why people latched onto Subspace Emissary. But because SE was so big, Brawl as a fighting game suffered from rash, nonsensical development decisions, bad balancing, and abysmal online. Because they made the story mode better, the main fighting game had to suffer for development time. Ultimate has its own share of problems, stemming mostly again from bad online, but also some major balance issues with a few characters (I don’t subscribe to tier lists, but characters like Mac, Kirby, and Ganondorf are extremely lackluster, while characters like Pit barely function at all), but overall it is one of the more Balanced Smash games for its cast size, coming at the cost of development for World of Light, which left much to be desired (there’s three lines of dialog in the whole thing, come on guys). Because the Devs focused more on the Fighting game itself, the story mode had to suffer for development time. Do you see what I mean now? You can’t just make two whole games in a limited time frame and expect them both to be masterpieces, especially when one is as complicated as a fighting game. Having an independently developed canonical spin-off that takes place in the Smash universe would be a much better alternative, as it can be developed at its own pace without the constraints of the host fighting game’s release date.

@Agent Ombraura I dont care for the story of subspace, but at least it had level design. Wol is the most repetitive, easy, boring game mode ever in smash. Calling it an adventure mode is pathetic imo.
