Great Video. I know the backswing is the most important thing you should master to give you the best chance of everything else staying on track (downswing, path, open or close clubface, etc.) Can you do a video breaking down your own backswing.. I'm really interested in hearing you speak on what you "FEEL" to start your backswing.. I've heard start it with your shoulders (one or both or specifice one?), start it a turn (what is turning?) Don't wrist hinge till a certain point, etc... But since everyone knows you have one of the best swings in golf, what's your breakdown for your backswing. Again in terms of your feel. We all know "Feel vs. Real". So although your backswing is amazing, what is your "FEEL" when doing your backswing? What exactly starts your backswing?
Just wanted to give you some feedback; your videos(including GG labs) have really changed my game over the winter. Just giving random advice to the other GG guys have helped my swing tremendously. Keep up the good work dude.
I love the format of the Good Good labs videos. As a relatively newer golfer, full swing guides were so intimidating. Not that they didnt help, but it was just a lot to take in. Once they started the labs channel, I've noticed much faster progress being able to tweak one thing in my swing and focusing on that for a few weeks. Just shot under +10 for the first time and if you told me Id be able to do that a year ago I wouldve laughed
@@GrantHorvatGolfs honestly I was starting to not enjoy golf, but with some changes I’ve made.. the swing is coming around and I’m starting to enjoy again! Cheers!
I really love what you and the GG boys are doing. I'm not that great at golf, but pretty much everything I've learned is because of you guys. Y'all have taught me a lot. Keep doing what you're doing and build your golf empire. Much love and respect!
You can see in 2017 where you start to shallow the club in your transition and your your right arm is able tostay more connected. The grip change really seemed to help you drop into the slot a little bit. In 2019 you really start to get that right hip moving back away from the ball properly in your backswing in order to give your hands enough room (and time) to sequence with the rest of your body in transition. The 2022 swing is really impressive. You can see how much work you have put into everything and you look completely "comfortable" in your sequence.
Love the swing analysis bro..would love to see you look at Tiger's swing throughout the years. IMO his 2000 Butch swing was greatest ever. Loving the content.
I was watching some videos recently of Adam Scott's swing. Today's video of Grants swing reminds me so much of Adam's. The swing is looking great... keep up the good work!!
I think a good series would be similar to the Challenge Accepted with the difference being that you could play along with and coach us weekend warrior golfers along your travels.
Because of your videos I went from averaging +10 at my local par 9 course to an average of +3. My putting needs work but I can confidently say that I have a really athletic and consistent swing.
I like this! you should go through some of the diagnoses for fixing these problems you've had for us who are struggling with the same.. drills and steps to take type stuff...
Nice video. I wish I could see my swing back then. I always had the Dustin Johnson wrist action and good tempo but it’s been getting better the older I am. Come back to Cali and Challenge me 😄
Do you ever do swing reviews of your subscribers? I have a good swing but thats somewhat the problem I'm a solid ball striker, but really want to get to the next level and i dont want to make the wrong changes. Your teaching videos are great and have helped alot. I feel I just need some fine tuning, and it'd be super cool if you ever did do breakdowns on your subscribers and if you do id love to potentially be a candidate!
Hey G! Could you do a GG labs on swing path and face angle, physics of draw/fade inducing spins. There was some chatter on yesterdays video and thinking it would help golfers of all handicaps to better understand that. Cheers! If you’re ever in Durango, CO I’m hitting you up for a match 0.9 handicap 😁
Swing progression is awesome. I wish I could afford a good coach for a couple of months. I paid the pro at my old golf course and he didn’t teach me a damn thing lol. and I remember the truck video on Garrets channel
You speak to being very handsy and flipping the club when you were younger, I'd love to hear about, maybe in a GG Labs video, how to work away from that and get a more penetrating ball flight. I struggle mightily with this. My swing speeds are pretty high but lose a ton of distance hitting the ball way to high.
I also struggle with rotation especially when I get to the back 9. Things start to tense up just a little and my hands start to take over a little. It’s a part of my swing I’ve been fighting for a while now. But I make it work in the end. I’ve never broke 80. Sometimes I wonder if it’s due to my rotation inconsistency.
Hey Grant, just wanna say awesome video. You were talking alot about turning your hips more through your swing and being less flippy and all hands. Any tips for trying to get your hips turning more. Cheers
This video is amazing! I love it. I’m working on flattening my swing. It’s very upright. I feel like I’m pretty good, straight & consistent. Just not far. Why can’t I hit my pw 200 yards? Please help.
I would love to see/read a step by step to swing "feels" for each piece of your swing... meaning... swing thought for initiating the swing - feet, legs etc - thoughts during backswing - thoughts that trigger downswing etc - if that makes sense. If you had to put your swing into words by step 1-10 so to speak, how would that read?
So here’s a question. My natural driver backswing has a big bend in my wrist. When I actually focus on adjusting my backswing to remove that bend, I just hit an aggressive hook. Advice is appreciated.
do u have a suggestion on a driver im looking for more distance i have a 109 swing speed im a lefty too i have a old m6 with a 6.5 70 gram hazardous with this driver im only carrying it 260 i want it to be 275 to 280 carry
I think the one thing that I see and the reason you have trouble rotating through the ball, is looking down the line that you have your butt too far out past your heels and that makes it difficult to maintain the tush line throughout the swing, so you move your pelvis out towards the ball on downswing causing you to lose your spine angle and when you do that it is very hard to rotate. So I would say if you drew a line from your butt to the ground that your heels should be just 2 or 3 inches inside of line at most and get weight more towards the ball of your feet, then try to have your right cheek get as deep as you can over that line and same with left cheek at impact. Everything else looks good.
Grant, is it my imagination or did I see a really bowed left wrist beginning in 2017? And I don't see it anymore. Were you tinkering with that back then because I see more of a flat left wrist now.
I still have a horrific problem rotating.. Because of it I cast/flip and I feel like all my balls go so high and they all go the same distance regardless the club because I can’t deloft.. I’ve been waiting for a good good labs episode that helps with that
Sick work grant. You are obviously a great player that grinds his butt off. This makes me curious with your knowledge of the game and work ethic, why have you not tried to neutralize your takeaway, it is pretty far inside is it not?
Grant, How do I get you to play a round w me. We're the same person! Grew up in FL (miramar for acouple years, near you - in Tampa/St.Pete now). All my boys played on FSU's golf team, love fishing, etc. Anytime you or the boys are near Tampa let me take you to the nicest courses over here... Old Memorial, Vinoy Renaissance, etc. Would love to let you beat me on camera! I'm a 5 handicap! - Jake DeGeare
What are all y’all’s age on good good? I’m 52 and still working on the fundamentals. It’s harder for an older golfer that picked up the game when he was younger to be able to play with his dad. Got to spend time with the dad. You all should do a 2v2v2 X’ 6 and partner up with your dad’s.
Honestly Grant your swing is very good positionally but to get better you have to be working on dynamics... Go get on some force plates and it'll help you out...
"Never recorded a round in the 80's the entire year"... not impressed, I never recorded a round in the 80's till last year 😏 too bad it was always in the 90's and 100's before then 😂 thanks for the solid tips and content love what you and the good good crew are doing keep it up
