Micah- “I’m getting lessons from Mike a Pro” Grant- “I’m getting lessons from my dad who’s been teaching for 50 years” Garrett- “I’m gonna have a pretty girl teach me to putt” 🤤
Dude, I’ve never heard the open vs closed stance and how it affects ball position. My mind is blown and the 3 wood tips were amazing. Can’t wait to get out to the range tomorrow and give this a try.
Most underrated channel and golfer on RU-vid. Love to see the bonding time and lesson with your Pop! That’s one of my favorite things to do with my dad as well. Great content!
Couldn’t agree more Grant, that was the most special video you’ve had. What a great father and golf instructor you have. Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Thanks for all you do.
Love the channel, personalties and the lessons. I learned "much" from you and this particular video. My Dad is 95 and still learning golf. Your teaching videos are some of the best - involve your Dad more. Thanks
This was great Grant. Loved this. Beyond the lesson, quality time spent together doing something you both love is very much under appreciated now a days.
This is a real joy. Your dad is such a an insightful coach, and seeing the father son dynamic was so much fun - it must have been a blast when you were growing up. I loved that he knew the detailed of your prior matches.
The fact that your dad can recall a single specific swing from a random match on your channel shows how much he cares about you. You’re lucky, man. Would love to see you two go out and play together, even if it’s not technically a match.
This is great stuff. Great info, and the love you and your dad have for one another comes through loud and clear. One of the best videos I've watched in a while. Kudos!
Good Detroit guy. Your Dad knows how awesome Michigan golf is. Great video Grant! Your Dad immediately says exactly what Jonathan said. You need a series with your Dad.
Your dad being able to recall certain shots from past videos is awesome! Shows how proud and supportive he is of what you’re doing. Also, pops looks great!
Love the fact that you've come around to listening to your dad, which you referenced in a podcast before! Matt Fryer Golf, a british golf youtuber if you know of him, have the same dynamic with his dad being a long time pro. Great video with super nice insight! I have the exact same patterns as you Grant in my swing, with a way worse tempo, though. :D
Whoever hit the thumbs down button has something wrong with them. There’s nothing more beautiful than a father and son spending quality time together and making improvements to something they both love at the same time. Great video Grant!!! Keep up the great work. I literally look forward to yours and all the good good members videos. You guys are all awesome!!!
I always love listening different teaching techniques between watching all of you guys on video and these lessons I’ve improved my scoring tee thru green . Thanks keep up the good good videos.
Hi Grant, messaging you from New Zealand. Thank you for your lesson and please thank your Dad- hope we can hear more from him. I have been following you, Garrett and the Good Good guys for a few months now. I've got to say, you are my favourite swing, better than most of the pros. Your tempo and balance are enviable, right up there with Harris English. Smooth. I'll keep watching and, again, invite your Dad back!
That’s about as wholesome as it gets. So awesome to get some tips from a legend like your dad! You should do a video with him as your caddie or even a match👀
I really liked this! He made me think about things I had never thought about with stance and ball position. I always liked it when George Bryan IV had his dad on his channel. Brings a little perspective. And maybe I'm wrong, but you seem like a very smart man, took right paths in life and the most grounded and solid guy on Good Good. Keep up the good work!
Grant is seems like you have total admiration for your dad. Much respect....I think you feel same, my dad is my HERO!!! Awesome to look up to someone, and know you can Count on him. Super cool to see. Love the channel. Oh yeah, my buddy now follows you and his game is getting dialed!!! Thanks for being you...GolfSavna.....
Grant you really need to offer Zoom lessons. You have a real eye for the golf swing. Myself and several others I'm sure would love to pay to have you work with us. Would likely pay for a lovely ring for your chest hairless lady 😄
great video. no shock your dad has been a coach/pro for so long. so knowledgeable and so good for a video like this. very simple, demonstrative and clear in speech with what you need to change and how that’s going to act in affect to the changes. something i’ve struggled with in coaching to get the right information for me as a struggling golfer. very appreciative guys
This was awesome. And props to your dad even referring to some of your past matches on good good. Really great to see a connected family. The knowledge was also real great I needed that reminder to check if my club head is inside my hand. Great tips great video.
I lost my Dad earlier this year and to see that father and son interaction made me smile. Shout out to Mr. Horvat for the awesome lesson. Lets see more of this!
Awesome visual on how the stance affects ball positioning. I'm sure that's why I push all of my clubs to the right. Thanks for the content, your dad's demeanor makes him a great coach.
So much great information here Gran, I love listening to your Dad, what great guy and a wealth of sage advice. I hope we hear and see more with you two in the future!
Grant & Dad, another man showed up at my golf game yesterday, I didn't recognize him at all. After watching your video I went to the driving range and that same man showed up...at the beginning. But after your dad's advise on the take-away and positions of the body to the ball I stared compressing the ball and hitting my targets repeatedly. I was also shaping low and high shots with the stance your dad showed you. I played baseball through college and have the Bubbie & Steve over the top syndrome (which you cured for them). My baseball over the top swing lead me to rare strike outs and is a natural mode for me (super hard to break too), but your lessons Like your dad said to you, 'you are a great teacher because of your simple approach...I agree wholeheartedly. I've been binge watching all the GG video's. Your great friends and golfers and you will be for life. Thanks for all the video's and lessons.
Great lesson for everyone, I know I took a lot away from this video. I love the content and the energy. I can’t wait to see how this transfers over to your game. I haven’t played in 7 years, and had surgeries on both shoulders. Just getting back into the game, tightness in shoulders has made my fade worse. I need to work on that.
This is a great video, I’ve had the “draw that turns into a hook on a bad day” miss just like you and I’ve been similar to what your dad said to help me get everything straightened back out. I’m the same way where hitting a cut feels like I’m having my takeaway be WAY outside what I’m used to, but your body just naturally adapts. This is the first time I’ve felt like I’ve had control of both shapes of my golf swing and it makes you feel super confident
Your dad is very good explaining the things he was explaining. A lot of coaches out there don't have that ability to communicate nuances. Props to your dad! Great vid, Grant.
Grant Love your energy and have seen your Dad on the range at The Florida Club. My parents winter right around the corner. Will be there in January (live in NY and have to escape the cold) and have played the Florida Club 30-40 times over the years. Keep up the good work. Love that tempo.
The club head outside the hands tip and the shoulder “push” then go feel from one of your other videos is genius and has me hitting crisp irons with the right timing - great stuff - thanks
This is the best video I have ever seen on RU-vid it’s got everything father and son golf lessons and a kid growing his career keep up the good content
man.. that's nuts dude - I did this, for a long time, I took a few lessons and he immediately saw that and said what your dad said- brilliant.. that's amazing you have that relationship with your dad ... you don't know how special you got it, I won't even reflect my childhood.
My teaching pro has gone over these issues with me more than a few times, you and your Dad did a great job in making it even clearer than I understood before. Thank you.
The parallel left setup is a game changer. Tried it this am at the range and I was hitting it better than I was all summer. Your dad is a great teacher. Good stuff 👍🏼
Dude, your dad's a stud and this video is huge. I've had almost all of these issues recently, and I was trying to address them yesterday with the exact things your dad says not to do lol. That piece of advice on opening/closing your stance moves the ball position... idk why I've never really put that together, but that's big time.
Hey Grant, thanks for sharing your Dad. Great insights to the importance of setup. Many of us weekend warriors skip over those steps and then wonder why did I get a double or worse on a hole. I will be looking at the take away video again (Good Good Labs) as well as this one again. Pretty easy to see where you get your teaching methods...you better say thanks to Dad. I know with your schedule elsewhere it's probably difficult but I think that it would be cool to see the teacher with the Master teacher again. I don't know if that makes sense but you know what I mean...maybe? 🤔⛳
When your dad referenced a specific shot from a video and remembered the shot shape and what hole it was on… just shows he really cares and supports you! That’s love
