Grant is so fun to watch golf for many reasons. One: his swing is absolutely butter smooth. Two: he is always extremely positive. Three: he has a really good camera presence and explains things well.
My Grant impersonation: “My back hurts, my game is inconsistent, I just relocated to Texas BUT HOLY CRAP I AM THE HAPPIEST, MOST SMILING MAN ON EARTH”. Love the positivity in a world where it’s lacking!
Grant, I cannot express how much I appreciate this video. I'm a hacker who's been struggling to break 100, but a new set of clubs and the straight right leg you were working on here got me to shoot 10 over on my home course while hitting some BOMBS with the irons. I can't thank you enough--tonight's round reminded me what it feels like to love golf again.
The sign of a Christian golfer is being humble even when you're a terrifically great golfer and yet willing to take criticism. Grant, you teach me more than anyone else on the internet. Simple and positive.
Grant is one of the most level headed in the group. Never gets too excited or too down. I played in HS and was definitely too firey. I've been taking notes from Grants demeanor as I get back into golf with a brand new approach.
The good good house needed someone who is super knowledgeable about swing mechanics (used to be Kyle but he disappeared with his trackman). Happy you’re in Dallas with the guys! Excellent swing improvement!
Dude this video just changed everything for me. Watched it when it came out. it’s been like 5 years of struggles for me and it was all my hip turn, that feeling of straightening the trail leg changed how I turn and everything else was automatic from there. I can just turn and burn from there and hit little 10-15 yard cuts with long clubs and pretty much dead straight or a 2-3 yard cut with shorter stuff. Fucking thank you for posting this. Two rounds in the 70s, few skins and a closest to the pin because of this video lol
Would love to see a video where you explain your journey. Where you played in Florida, your best round of golf, your lowest handicap etc. love the swing. So smooth.
I read that comment too. He mentioned Tig and Garret rotate and that’s why they hit it further. Your swing looks much smoother now, like Tig. Smooth and powerful!
Can totally relate with back pain!! I didn't play for a couple of years cause of it!! But I think strengthening my back has helped a lot!! Keep up the good work Grant!!
Man your swing is like butter and bubbie behind the camera was awesome. I’ve been working on this very same thing. It works well on the range but is only translating on course about 70% off the time for me … it’s a sequence issue. I’m 61 and love you videos. I play a lot as a single so when I get paired up with people I like to talk to them and see if they know about your channel. You have a ton of fans hear in Iowa. Keep up the great work.
I had a swing breakdown done at Golftec and this is exactly what I am working on right now. Getting my shoulders and hips more closed coming back and it really is adding yardage to my game.
The addition of Grant to the house was a shot in the arm the guys needed. Don't get me wrong, they were doing just fine before but you can only have so many "epic blah blah blah" videos before they come redundant. I don't know if it was Garrett's idea or the house collectively but it was genius. Reminds me of the incubator house in Silicon Valley and Good Good is bringing in and curating fresh talent. p.s. When I meet golf Jesus, I want to ask for Grant's swing.
My guy grant is spitting real knowledge on his channel ... butter butter ... I hope he doesn’t overthink it and just gets fit first ... you don’t want to get fit for a new swing .
ive been watching garrett's channel for about 2 years and i remember when i saw your swing for the first time. even g rat said it was the most pure golf swing he'd ever seen and im telling you he's so right. i could watch this all day, keep up the good work man
Nothing but great vibes with grant, absolutely love the mindset and just how positive you are. Love all the content and tips it helps my game out a ton keep the videos coming grant !! Can’t wait for the club fitting
Mike Adams has won pgs teacher of the year and so have the students he's taught. one thing that sets Jim apart is that he measures golfers wingspan vs height. If wing span is wider than your height meaning lanky arms. You'll do best with an upright swing and the opposite golfer does best with a more rotational swing. Your new added rotation obviously could totally help you. But if it doesn't maybe more rotation isn't the answer. But I also understand you gotta do what you gotta do to stay healthy. I just thought I would add that just incase your new adjustments don't pan out. But honestly there's a very good chance they will.
I just want to say that you seem like such an easy-going and stand-up guy, Grant. Really enjoy what you bring to the group. And I'm excited for more content on your channel
Turning the back right pocket back is one of the key's for great ball strikers. Your swing looks terrific. I think your rhythm and tempo is outstanding and that is one reason you are striking the ball so pure. Great stuff-- keep it up.
Great video you have a really good way of explaining what you are doing and how you are doing it.... These videos will help alot of people with their swings as we all get in bad habits and feel lost in what is going on and how to get it back..... Hopefully you will make these type of videos regular episodes.....
My golf pro who gave me lessons had me do that exact thing. More hip rotation on the backswing. It also helps eliminate coming over the top which causes slices. I’m hitting it straight or with draws now. You’ve been such a positive influence already Grant. Keep it up and your subs will grow exponentially!
I actually just started this change process a few weeks ago! The only advice I can give from experience is I started bringing the club really far inside on the way back when I would try to really turn my back hip. That’s been the only thing I’ve had to focus on with the change is my club path on my back swing. Yours looks great so far!!
Easy subscribe on this channel. I like the angle of somewhat of a teaching aspect in videos, if that's what you're going for. This one is very transferable to the range for us viewers. Glad to have you in the rotation, Grant!
Grant and bubbie are both super vibey. Probably my favorite two guys in the crew. Love all of the boys but these two always with good vibes. Keep up the work boys 💪🏻💪🏻
This is very similar to what George Gankas preaches about posture and the top of the back swing which has really help me stop flipping at impact as well, great vid keep it up!
I'm 42 and started having back issues 3-4 years ago. I started doing this about a year ago and it really helped my back and my game. I went from mid 80's to consistently under 80. This swing, once you get it dialed, is easily repeatable. Keep at it Grant!
This was a huge game changer for me, awesome vid grant! I'm a bigger buy, rotation always an issue, simple leg plant and I'm opening my hips and getting a lot more consistent power. Grant is the man!
My husband turned me on to the whole good good crew and we usually watch all your videos together. All you guys but especially you grant have re-ignited my passion for golf. I have not golfed in two years due to a breast reduction surgery and the covid epidemic. Sadly I am not sure even if I will get to golf this year either, like you I have a back injury both sciatic and lower back. I am seeing a chiropractor a massage therapist and am waiting on an appointment with the neurologist. I have been told no golf for the time being, so I just caddy for the husband. This video gives me hope for the future of my game! I am trying to just work on my stance but not swinging and practicing putting on the putting green my husband got for Father’s Day. Sadly even putting is excruciatingly painful at this time but I really want to keep practicing 🤫 don’t tell my chiropractor or doctor. Let’s just hope all my treatments and possible surgery/recovery/healing start happening soon. Know you have changed the game for both my husband and I! And I am so very thankful for that. I know with lots of practice implementing your method so it works best of me. I will get better, start looking forward to golfing and just having fun on the golf course!!!!! It would be seriously amazing to one day have you and the guys out here in Humboldt Saskatchewan home of the Humboldt Broncos to play with us and maybe show us a thing or two. Thank you so much Grant and the good good for making awesome, educational and entertaining golf videos!
We definitely need more of these types of videos. You have a gift when it comes to teaching and communicating the fundamentals of the golf swing. If you did a teaching series touching on different areas of your swing, like wrists angles, hips, shoulders, etc., and how you put it all together, no doubt many of us would be intrigued. And I have to ask, how do you have such good distance with such an effortless looking swing? I feel like I'm swinging so hard sometimes but the ball doesn't go anywhere.
Love the way you explain and clarify things! could you do a video outlining the differences between the traditional swing vs. stack & tilt? so much info and content out there and it's overwhelming what is best for anyone working on their game. thanks!
I just notice I have the same problem as you Grant today at the range I did the same thing as you, and after hitting a few shot I notice, my swing was so effortless, and farther. This will probably fix my back problem as well. Thanks Grant i hope you do more of this video, it’s really helpful, because a lot of problems you have, I have too. I don’t even notice them.
Awesome video, went for my first lesson since I was a kid when I played golf and dropped it for team sports and this is literally what they pointed out and have me working on now. Better contact more distance and less of a fade/slice which is what I was doing. Nice video. Will be a 3 month battle to make this swing effortless but great video look forward to it.
This drill is awesome. I also went through a drill similar to this but the guy had me pull my right hip and shoulder back about 1 to 2 inches. From this position he had me to concentrate on pulling my right back pocket back. Everything was slow and deliberate and right at end he made sure that I was pulling my left back pocket completely through. Crazy drill but once you get the timing down it works
Grant, awesome video. The tutorial videos and how-to’s would be awesome. If you could do some videos on how you grip the clubs, how you stand at approach, and how you practice a consistent golf swing, that would be epic. Keep the great content coming man!
I was dealing with some back pain issues this spring until I took a lesson and the instructor helped me turn my hips more. No lower back pain while golfing since then
Tried this out for myself on the range and course this weekend and my god... the golf swing felt so much more effortless. Going to make this my focus for a few more weeks to make it a little more consistent. Killin it Grant 🤙🏻
Let's go Grant. I was on the course this morning duffing chips left and right (cuz I suck) and I was telling myself to keep the smile just like you do. Ended up shooting 1 off my best round ever. Thx for the positive vibes dude.
Ok ever since I saw your swing I loved it and now I love it even more cause literally today I was having back issues and I see this and now want to try this or see if I am already doing it
Been working on this too. A drill that helped me with this is setting up in a hallway, put your left hand up near your left shoulder and same with right side. Without moving your chest/arms, touch the right wall with the left hand and vice-versa. Holy hell you'll definitely feel the activation in your hip flexor. I never knew all these years I had a muscle down there lololol. That's a tip from Golf with Aimee btw.
I'm old enough to remember when the "quiet lower body" was the next big thing in the golf swing. The theory being that you coil your spine like coiling a spring then the uncoiling would generate power. Disaster. Especially as golfers became more athletic and swing speeds increased, the torque on the back was brutal. Similarly, it's also why you see BDC pivot on the left heel through impact and follow through, he learned from Tiger that you can't torque the crap out of the left knee with the modern swing. The modern swing is more and more like a power hitter in baseball and nothing constricts those swings. Keep up the good work!
