Description of Workout
Acceleration / Max Strength Sample Session
A: Warmup (5-10 min.) : Light jog, mix of dynamic and static stretches, mobility work as needed
B: Plyometric & Med Ball Circuit: 2-3 rounds (rest as needed between movements to stay fresh)
- Pogo leaps (light tier): 10 landings
- Rotational med ball slam (choppers): 6 slams
- Split stance pogo leaps (light tier): 10 landings
- Standing MB chest pass: 5 throws
- Slalom bounds (medium tier): 8 landings
- MB move + catch + throw: 5 throws (random)
C. Reaction / Acceleration Drills:
- Ball drop: 3 attempts
- Curvilinear ball catch: 3 attempts
- Hill sprints: 3-6 total (90-120 seconds rest between)
D. MAX Strength: 2-4 sets of 3-5 reps each movement
- Trap bar deadlift: 2-3 minutes rest between sets
- D1: Weighted Chins: (superset with bench press)
- D2: Barbell Bench press
E. Conditioning: (Best on a separate day or session)
- Sprint repeats: Goal is to maintain speed as much as possible while under fatigue (1:2-1:3 work to rest ratio, cut after ~10% drop in speed)
