It honestly doesn’t seem like the barriers are designed to prevent skips, but maybe that they are just solid blocks with a clear mesh which prevents ink. Mostly pedantic but it’s a thought

As a former WR holder in Any% watching this new skip blow the game wide open has been amazing. We have gotten so many new runners as well. Masaya is the goat and has brought this game back from the dead twice. People think Splatoon doesn't have a single player due to advertising. But it def does! And we have a great community too. Glad you are learning the Speedrun and giving Splatoon the long deserved mainstream attention it deserves. This is the premiere speedgame on the WiiU next to Wind Waker HD. I'll be sure to come by if you are learning! This category is the most fun, accessible, and least RNG heavy it has EVER been! Thank you LunaticJ for making this video.

I'm pretty sure the barriers are internally the same system as the spawn points in multiplayer. The barrier eating ink might therefore be a way to make sure no enemy ink can ever hit you while you're on that spawn point, the only completely safe area on the map.

I was waiting for someone to make a vid like this about this skip. As a runner of all 4 splatoon campaigns, It's surreal that this is even a thing and it's just incredible to see this big find come out of nowhere! Any% is now completely different than how it used to be and it's been awesome showing that off and running with this trick 8 years into splatoons life. Hopefully we'll get to see Lontr0 get this into AGDQ along with other people running this category in events coming up (ie. Me in Midfall Speedball and Claud running it in a marathon)

I remember seeing the original world 4 skip when it was new and being amazed by it, that was the catalyst for making me curious in looking at games with curiosity over the hidden potential within them, and consequently my fascination with all the tricks used in the speedruns that I follow now.

I'd heard of world 4 skip, but no one has talked about World 4 early! That's a massive skip, I still thought that Splatoon speedruns were at 40 minutes, not 20!

5:10 I’m pretty sure that the inside is just a solid cube, which is why the burst bomb insta exploded and the ink still shot while not actually hitting anything. Also explains the camera shake

I wonder if this jump storage is possible in S2 and S3. Since ink rails are in their story modes AND in multiplayer stages. Could break some things

splatoon 1's single player is awesome. sad it's stuck on the wii u. splatoon 3 bringing back inkopolis plaza was a perfect opportunity to put it on switch.

Someone needs to do summoning salt style doc on splatoon speedrun history if it goes deep enough

I know of the world four skip and have attempt it eight years ago but I just do not have the time to even bother with speed running as I wanted to try after alterna speed with the hidden kettle but at las no time unfortunately. That is just a youthful thing now.
