@@davincerica7232 I was actually just referring to KD. But it seems to me that, if they'd do that to KD, then they proly did it to other players in the past. Im not a knicks fan so I dont play close attention
I mean teams like the Lakers and the Heat are also have that kind of mentality the problem that the Knicks had by doing these is they don't have the storied history and free agency pull as the Lakers or the culture and chemistry of the Heat so no top free agent will sign for them or request a trade to New York
ah yes. i love trading LaMarcus Aldridge and Joakim Noah for Eddy Curry, and Paul George/Gordon Hayward for Stephon Marbury. i say this before the video starts as a petrified Knicks fan
why he overrating ariza like hes a star?...young aria sucked he was a like an average 10th man a meh 9th man a overrated 8th man who never boomed...at best ...late bloomer in la 6 year into his career on his 3rd team is when he boomed in the playoffs especially west finals and finals..thats where he played great and became what he was for nearly a decade ...ariza looked like keith bogans or a worse ronnie brewer very much like early corey brewer actually
put it this way....larry brown has succeeded at every position on so many teams in college the nba high school as an assistant head coach ...even he was done with the knicks after a year lol..when even he can't fix you your fucked...he fixed the clippers and bobcats in 1 year for god's sake lol ..he turns bums into pros and the knicks to him were a clownshow
@@razkable ... Don't forget about Lenny Wilkins also a HOF coach then he got to the KNICKS and had to retire cuz the team screwed up his WIN/ LOSS record with all the losing. Then there is Mike D'antoni yes who doesn't win the big one but still has a very entertaining style of basketball that gets you in the PLAYOFFS every year that would have been welcomed here in NYC ... But what does James ( Dumba**) Dolan do, he trades all the youth that could handle Mike D's system for ISO Melo and a washed up Chauncey Billups. Which almost caused Mike D's his coaching career with the help also from the the at the time incompetent LAKERS ... But now you see what he's doing in HOUSTON with players that can run his system. Again he doesn't not win the big one but HOUSTON is in the playoffs every year since he got there unlike the KNICKS 😔
The knicks ain’t going nowhere as long as James clueless is in charge of the organization. One of the worse sports franchises ever. They do everything that hurts their own franchise
I mean they got rid of Steve Mills who imo was to blame for a majority of the shit the Knicks did. That man is probably the worst president in NBA history.
i loved hearing for the last 15+ years about how much cap space the knicks had to sign max players. especially last year . Stephen A Smith SWORE kevin durant or kyrie irving was going to the knicks this season and in the most beautiful form of irony not only did he not go to the knicks but they dont get kyrie either and both guys go to the nets instead......only the goddamn knicks
I make a joke about Stephen a Smith every off season cuz when LeBron was leaving the 1st time he claimed it was 50/50 whether he was staying in Cleveland or going to miami, something any person on the planet can say! great journalism lol,
why don't they try I don't know building a culture and young real fun team like the nets did to bring in stars?..ever think of that?..the 70's knicks would be ashamed...freaking at one time they had willis reed walt frazier dave debuscherre bill bradley dick barnett earl monroe jerry lucas phil jackson henry bibby on the same team ...thats insane...like thats a real team...or the 69-70 team without earl the pearl monroe obviously but they had a better younger core and instead of young henry bibby they had cazzie russell and instead of the older jerry lucas they had dave stallworth...both title knicks teams are amazing talent wise
Quoting the words of Urinating Tree: "I've seen this team play, and Holy Shit they're bad. Not a laughable kind of bad, but just plain awful." He probably had the New York Knicks in mind.
@@ax3ren333 well they did stuff. A lot of stuff. They made every wrong decision you can possibly make in basketball management! That's a skill that you or I could never accomplish 🤪😋😂
Great video, and an excellent diagnosis. The problem, so far as I can tell, is that the Knicks have *never* accepted that they need to rebuild through careful draft picks, and building value through wise trades. Every time they get someone on their roster showing potential, they seem to deal them for some overpriced standout on another team, who turns out to under-perform, because they lack the quality help and depth which permitted them to excel where they were. Basically, things will start getting better when they quit mortgaging their future to buy a better present.
They dealt David Lee to GSW for Kelenna Azubuike • Anthony Randolph • Ronny Turiaf • 2012 second round pick (#38-Quincy Miller) • 2013 second round pick (#51-Romero Osby)
bro imagine growing up during the late 60's through mid 70's watching real knicks basketball with willis reed walt frazier dave debuscherre bill bradley dick barnett earl monroe jerry lucas phil jackson henry bibby on the same team ...thats insane...like thats a real team...or the 69-70 team without earl the pearl monroe obviously but they had a better younger core and instead of young henry bibby they had cazzie russell and instead of the older jerry lucas they had dave stallworth....how do you even compare this knicks shit to that?...or the prime ewing era ...you can't ...
Soooooo u dont blame Isiah Thomas or any of the gm during that time period???? U can't call yourself a real knicks fan and jump right to dolan listen dolan is bad but i think its cheap to go at him for every single thing
Youonlyknowonebig i ok but who brings those guys in and a lot of the times it takes the organization a stupidly much longer time than needed to fire or get rid of them
I mean most moves are overseen by Dolan one of biggest moves I hated to was bringing in phil Jackson...literally because of his name and legacy and what makes it even worse is that we didn’t even hire him for what he was known for we made him the president 🤦🏾♂️
Great video. I would love to see a comparison about which team has been worse with their drafts/trades between the Timberwolves and the Knicks. They both have done so badly. Or maybe a video about the worst GMs.
As a Raptors fan I am very thankful for the knicks organization. 1 for giving us a 1st round draft pick for Bargnani which ended up in a top 10 pick used to draft Puertl who was in the Kawhi trade. And 2 for canceling a trade that would have send Lowry to New York for shumpert. Thank you New York Knicks! The defending champs are nothing without you!
I'm a Knicks fan till I die. Always have always will. This video didn't even make me sad or mad with the team, just heavily disappointed in what poor management we've had. When you said KP was the Knicks best draft pick since Ewing I almost cried. I'm always hopeful for the future but my expectations will always be LOW (see what I did there)
They wasted trades on Carmelo too. They had something with Linsanity and Carmelo came back and got jealous. I really think if they would have traded Carmelo and highlighted Lin with great players around him they would have made it to the playoffs consistently. And just horrible horrible draft picks. The only good draft pick was Porzingis and he bolted.
@Andre Ricardo Bryant in Dantony's system Lin thrived but since Carmello came back he forced Dantony out because he didn't want to adapt to his system. Then when Lin left if you actually look at his stats when he's the primary ball handler running pick and roll he plays exactly the same as he did during Linsanity
if the lakers was bad do you think the league would be good the knicks have a huge and loyal fan base so if the knicks are winning more knicks will watch the nba
Oh lawd! Thanks. I needed to see how boned headed my favorite team is. They don't get it and I don't think they ever will, even if it's sent FedEx Overnight.
Fun Fact, I saw Royce White in 2013 when he was playing for the Sixers and they played an exhibition game at the University of Delaware as their G League Team was playing in Newark, DE for the first few years of the relationship.
2022 and they are still signing these vets with "tradeable" contracts with the idea that they can move them at any time and free up cap space. They're on the verge of trading Quickley & Toppin, they blew top 10 picks (Frank & Knox) and they passed on a true point guard (Haliburton) to draft Obi. The team is still looking for a point guard June 2022.
Do a vid on the Pistons draft history family.. passing on Giannis, PG & Kawhi to name a few since the aging and splitting of the '04 champ goin to work crew
The last time the Kicks were in the NBA Finals was with Coach Nick Van Gundy. He coached the Knicks from being the lowest seed in the playoff league upto, even though they lost, the Finals itself. That was the best season that I had the highest respect for the Knicks. I hope they find what happened back then and duplicate it. If they do, The Knicks might win the NBA Finals once again.
Adeniyi Adegbemigun eh I’ve seen them win 2 Super Bowls. And they consistently are competitive. The same can’t be said for the knicks lol, my condolences.
Adeniyi Adegbemigun It sucks but at least we have 2 cornerstone pieces in RJ and Mitch to build off of ... if we can get a solid pg whether it be lamelo or Hayes that would be fantastic
You forgot to mention that the pick the Raps got from the Knicks for Bargnani (Jakob Purtle) was packaged with Demar DeRozan so they could acquire Kawai and win a championship 😁
