Josh Thomas harden and Durant backstabbed y’all? Really? Durant played for ten years, ten motherhfucking years !!!! He was there when y’all was in Seattle. And because he left he backstabbed y’all? You’re a disgrace. Okc fans are a disgrace. Harden was traded too. Most disrespectful fans ever. Fuck okc . Seattle should have a basketball tram
K1ng-Za1n would you rather me say playoff Paul George who couldn't even get the Indiana Pacers to the finals or normal mode Paul George he's a great player don't get me wrong but ain't nobody scared of polly g
Khalid Ali 3x ecf he eliminated 7 different teams in 4 years that's around 40 players go ask them if they weren't scared of the other teams best player and btw judging someone because they couldn't go to the finals doesn't mean he wasn't great no one out of the east has been to the finals in the last 7 years who hasn't been a teammate of LeBron.
Khalid Ali the fact that he gave himself that stupid nickname is made even more embarrassing after that game six performance... Paul George will never live that down
The Thunder are mediocre because they still adhere to the archaic NBA mindset that volume is way more important than efficiency. You can't just throw together a team with 20+ ppg scorers, and expect to win a championship. Your players need to compliment each other and make each other better. The Heat with Lebron, Wade, and Bosh were the perfect example of this. Before, each of them were excellent players but once they got to Miami they each had career years. Not really in the amount of points they scored per game but how efficiently they scored. That is because Wade and Lebron were excellent ballhandlers and passers who compliment each other on the offensive end and can make plays for each other and for Bosh. Bosh in Miami developed his outside shot because he and the team knew he would get a lot more open space from 15-24 foot with Lebron and Wade's ability to get into the paint with penetration. You saw nothing of this in Oklahoma City. Too much "hero ball" was being played. What is the point of having 3 good scorers if only one of them is being used on each possession? Each of the "big three' of the Thunder actually shot worse from the field than the average of the team. Only Westbrook was close with nearly 45% shooting. So when the role players are shooting more efficiently than the stars you know something is messed up. The stars are taking too many shots and perhaps the role players aren't shooting enough.
Nit Picker faxx 💯. But it’s a big two cuz Melo’s old now, he didn’t even average 20 this year and all he could ever do was score cuz that’s wat MADE him great
U ignore the fact melo come up small this year okc lost alot of close games if melo coulda averaged 20ppg and roberson woulda stayed healthy the conversation would be different. I think with a healthy team okc coulda pushed Houston to game 7 in the semi
The reason he averaged 16 was because they asked him to take less shots Melo around the half-way mark averaged 19ppg but then he started to pass up shots which is why his scores dropped
@@drasconboy6349 you're making his point for him--Melo is a very inefficient scorer--that's why they asked him to take less shots. He's always needed a shit ton of shots to get his points. His 'greatness' is based on volume, and what George Karl called 'ball stopping'. At least, Karl called him a ball stopper--I guess he thought that was nicer than 'ball hog who only scores and nothing else'.
People have to stop expecting teams that look great on paper to be great on the floor because chemistry is everything and if guys don't know their roles then they won't win.
El Juanillo neither does westbrook. The guy acts like he always has to do everything. He could have LeBron on his team and he would still try to be the main guy.
Anthony Davis Look at the Lakers Big 4 with Malone and GP. They managed to make it to the Finals, which was very impressive, considering their lack of chemistry, but they lossed unexpectedly to a less talented Pistons team in terms of players not being considered on their level. It took the Miami Big 3 a year to find their chemistry after they loss to a Mavericks team with only one superstar a one-time All-Star Center and a former All-Star SF.
Bruh the 2012 Lakers were easily worse, y'all have short memories. Kobe, Gasol, Nash, Howard, D'antoni lol. They were way worse than this Thunder team. Got SWEPT in the first round as an 8 seed. They were ranked #2 going into the season behind the Heat lol.
+Timo Cruz basically everyone got injured on that team. yes the were disappointing but there is a reason for them being a dissapointment. Injuries.Thunder have no excuse
The 2022 Lakers were a superteam ON PAPER. But anybody could see that the 4 players that roster was built around were nowhere near the players they once were. The one player that was in his prime or, at least, was supposed to be, was injury-prone. If anything, at least 2 of those players were liabilities to the roster.
@@ljpal18 it wouldnt have worked anyway. Seems like howard couldnt handle kobe and nash and kobe could never play great basketball together, they both need the ball to run through them
Be honest though. When you have a player like Westbrook, George, and Melo, do many even care who the coach is? Was he ever really brought up when these players were brought together? Does Westbrook ever fully commit to a drawn play? No. Is he part of the problem? Yes, but I saw more arguments from people about whether Harden and Paul can coexist on a D'Antoni coached team than I did about Donovan.
Bapu nah if melo shot the same amount of shots Westbrook and pg13 did he would average more points than both. And if he did no-one would cry about him being bad and not scoring they would cry about him shooting too much and not passing lmao
Smh There’s more to bball than scoring , melo was unplayable at times because he couldn’t guard anyone joe ingles was blowing by him ffs ! Watch the game before you comment
Rick Ryan lmao Joe ingles, Donavan Mitchell, and Favors averaged more pts through the entire series on pg13 head than they did on Melo's. OKC played melo at center because he clamped Gobert and Mitchell or Rubio off the p&r for an entire game lmao. If every single one of us watched that series you would see melo was actually playing solid defense, and was getting isolated from the offense which is why he averaged a measly 12ppg. Melo used to average 30ppg in the playoffs before this series, now cause of okc shit offensive system he averages 26ppg. How about you watch the games before commenting cause if you did you would know melo played good D for most of the series, pg13 was the one getting molested on defense by a janitor, adams was easily playing like the worst player on both starting lineups, and if Westbrook orchestrated the offense like he did in that one game where melo had 18 and he had 24 but pg13 was just off, okc would've wiped the floor with the jazz in 6 games max.
Lebron West 'Biological son of Delonte West' LeBron got took to 7 games with a team led by a rookie and barely won that game in the east Mitchell is Roy Tatum isn't even in the discussion
Lebron West 'Biological son of Delonte West' Boston better than Utah without 2 of their best players u need to get up off ur knees and leave LeBron dick alone if LeBron was in the West he would have gotten bounced in the first round the east is a cake walk
It's very simple, Westbrook is not a team player. He passes up good shots to try to saueeze that extra assist. He wrestles with his own guys to grab those boards. His shooting % is not good, turnovers like crazy and plays lackluster defense. Add ln top of that, you add Carmelo Anthony to the mix whos another cancerous player and its a recipe for disaster.
Creech786 this is what I've been telling everyone. They don't listen because he is "MR TRIPLE DOUBLE". People try to much to give Russ the benefit of the doubt
I’m not. I can be honest that my team isn’t fit to win in this era. Maybe if this was 06 but not in this era. The game has passed WB and Melo by. That’s all there is to it.
Demontae Woulard no it’s just that 3 very ball dominant players and running way too many iso plays leads to this. It was so obvious that this couldn’t work, even though the rockets can make it work.
BSOLZ so true 😂😂😂 also I know you’re tired of hearing this but I love the podcast man and I CANNOT WAIT for the next episode. You guys keep hustling and doing y’all things I see it taking y’all far.
TheMoreGreatnes Productions lol the saltiness is real 😂 okc just isn’t that good mate. At the beginning of the season all everyone heard was “okc is gonna whop the warriors ass in the playoffs” and “okc is gonna win the championship.” And look what happened 😂
Gagik Gharagyozyan actually three... the team had D leaguers starting in playoffs with Howard and Gasol. Kobe had his torn his Achilles, Nash had two major injuries, Gasol was alright and that was the year Howard was officially broke and no longer Superman
Yup people tend to forget that this superteam never played. Howard had serious back issues and could barely walk properly (let alone play BBall). I mean it was so bad that MWP couldn't believe Dwight stayed on the court and played that season. But people prefer to blame him because it's easier than looking for information. Kobe had to carry the team and ultimately injured himself right before the playoff. Of course this team couldn't compete. But they had excuses (there is nothing to do against all your key players facing major injuries). On the other OKC has no excuses for this pathetic season.
@@joaocandido3124 True he might win mvp even tho he seems to be kinda slowing down these last few games. I still think OKC wont win it all but i could be wrong. If youre a OKC fan Boa sorte! :P
Only thing I can say about Melo and Westbrook is the game has passed them by. The league isn’t dominated by athletic iso scorers anymore. It’s dominated by teams with great players in great offensive systems that use them to their peak efficiency. Even Lebron has realized that Iso ball won’t win a ring anymore because the game has almost passed him by too. So unless they can make a 180, WB will spend his days like Marc Gasol. Stuck in a bed of mediocrity until his body tells him no more.
Iso still works but you just have to be on that LBJ level to achieve it. There's only 2 players I've seen this year who can successfully run iso, Giannis and LBJ. Iso really needs the opponent team to be shooting bad and the player running iso to be strong, players like dame try to run iso and fail because they're easily locked down and don't provide much to defense.
Never thought of it like that, I think you're right. Russ is playing the style of a bygone era, the NBA is a lot quicker and more team play based these days, he hasn't caught up and probably never will
Brendan Coomey false. As a OKC fan myself, I guarantee you this guy gets hella recognition after leading his team past the Thunder. It’s pretty embarrassing but oh well lmao.
Bob Jones not as bad as the Thunder because 2013 lakers dealt with injuries the whole season and (Kobe, Howard, and Nash) barely played together and 2014 Nets, Pierce and Garnet were old on the decline already. This okc team had Westbrook and George in the middle of the prime with a decent melo and good center in Steven Adams and the only injury they dealt with was Roberson.
John Wall the 04 Lakers at least made it to the finals... Who really thought the 2014 Nets was a super team?... And the 2012 Lakers dealt with injuries all year long... This team was healthy most of the season and still got bounced by the Jazz... Everyone had them beating the Jazz and they choked
Westbrook just isn’t a good decision maker in the last 5 mins of close games. And lets be honest he’s coddled in OKC in their eyes he does no wrong. Triple doubles are nice but it shouldn’t over shadow shooting more shots then you score 😂
last 5 mins of close games? i'm pretty sure his bad decision making still around the time when he was drafted he was a smarter player in UCLA than the nba
You people say what they want about Russ, the front office need to really build a team around Russ. Getting Melo and PG is not building a team around him. Don’t know why they thought they can just be the Heat have 3 all star and make it to the finals first year, NOT COMPARING BEFORE ONE OF YELL THINK THAT
im shocked that melo didn't ball but y'all shouldn't be surprised with pg, this man is literally the least clutch player in the nba. he's 1/24 in clutch shots in his career (under 30 seconds left in 4th qrtr). he's a known choke artist.
Erik Lerström If you thought anything was gonna change when they got rid of Brooks then you don't know basketball, Brooks ran Iso plays as well, when I heard they were bringing in a college coach that was a red flag. Fizdale got did dirty bc Zach gone, Conley got that big extension and got hurt just for Marc Gasol who scores like 9points and getting paid that much opens eyes about that organization. But A strong willed coach to sit Russ down and Teach him about improving his i.q
As a Knicks fan, I feel sorry for Melo.. he was supposed to be free with the hell that was Phil Jackson! He was supposed to be happier with the Thunder! Hopefully Melo realizes he isn’t a franchise type player anymore!
Lleone agreed, but with the Thunder he wasn’t able to play his post game, and got reduced to a spot up shooter! I think that’s what made him have second thoughts on the team! Hopefully he’ll go to a team where they can use his strengths better!
He Never was, just a guy who could get some points at the expense of teammates. Its funny when people blame phil for bum ass melos lack of team awareness and me ball mentality lmao.
People love to defend Russ because he puts ridiculous numbers if you only at the box score (and conveniently ignore the TO, FG%, and 3PT% columns). I don’t know what it is but people can’t seem to realize that Russel Westbrook is simply one of those players who does not make the team around him better. He scores a lot, and plays with intensity but it doesn’t make his teammate better. Just look at Steph Curry and what happens when he is on floor. Steph doesn’t even need to be playing well, just by virtue of being on the floor and forcing the defense pick up at 30 feet from the basket he provides so much spacing for all his teammates. And as much as I don’t like James Harden’s fishing for fouls style of play, it is undeniable that he makes everyone else on the floor with him play better. Russ can’t don’t do that and until he figures it out OKC isn’t going to contend.
PG13 watched this video, and just turned the dial up. His 2018/2019 season is just amazing to watch. He's not backing down this season. Props to the Pacers for acquiring Oladipo, he became such a key piece of their offence with his vision and floor spacing.
Melo brought Denver to the WCF, in the NYK first 3 Seasons went to the Playoffs with one of the oldest teams in the League and got eliminated by the Celtics and the Pacers
no its not billy is also to blame as he really didn't know what to do with his offense melo was playing terrible and inconsistent and he barley ever benched melo throughout the season and playoffs when they were playing better with him on the bench its russ fault as well since he is terrible on playing offball and heavily relies on having the ball in his hand but the coach is to blame as well
Why does everyone call a team with 3 all stars a super team? I'd never heard that term used until the 2010 Miami heat. There's been plenty of teams before that had 3 all stars and weren't ever referred to as a super team
Melon isn't even an all star nor an all star caliber player, hasn't been sonde 2013, 15 points 7 rebounds, and 2 assists on 40 percent shooting while being statically one the worst defenders in the leaugue, how is this guy even an starter, if his prime wasn't in New York and he didn't have such a catchy nickname, he wouldn't be referred to as a star
It’s no so much the all stars. It’s 3 sure fire or near HOFers. Ex: 2008 Celtics, (Garnett, Pierce, Allen), 2010 Heat (Bosh, James, Wade) 2017 GSW (KD, Draymond, Curry) 2018 OKC (Westbrook, George, Melo)
But the same problems Scott Brooks had in okc he still has in Washington. I would say its more so the fault of Sam Presti for not being able to identify a coach with an innovative offense or the ability to coach Westbrook.
Erik Lerström Do you actually watch Thunder games. Even with Westbrook on the beach they have subpar ball movement and mediocre predictable plays. That’s on the coach
2019-2020 Update: Still Playoff P Melo Redemption with his better fitted role on the Blazers Westbrook still doing Westbrook things right out the playoffs early yet again
Anyone who thought the OKC Thunder wer a "superteam" simply fell for the sales hype. The 2018 OKC Thunder were not, and never should have been considered a "superteam". They had no starter quality power forward and a lackluster bench. One superstar and 2 second tier stars do not make a superteam. Add to the mix that OKC's goal was the Westbrook triple double exhibition show, NOT trying to contend.
Month late but Jesus this video is so well made and even though I didn’t and don’t watch much basketball I was able to understand almost everything he was talking about. Great video
VenomKpp remind me again how reggie jacksons a good point guard. Hes inefficient, bad on D, caused drama over ish smith playing better than him, and the only reason hes playing better is because hes no longer a bench player on a thunder team with two superstars lmao. U give any bench player more shots and they will seemingly put up better stats. Reggies overrated and thats saying something
Resee Hendrix SO IT MELO FAULT THE LOST OR THE TEAM FAULT THEY LOST I THROUGH THIS WAS A TEAM SPORT AND WESTBROOK IS THE DOWN FALL OF THIS TEAM HE SHOT MUCH
Fraser Gill that was based off last season and last season melo averaged more than any sf except LeBron, durant, kawhi shooting less shots than any all star except hayward so nah not really
Fraser Gill no he didn't lmao look the shit up yourself and stop telling yourself things. Melo shot 18 shots a game and averaged almost 24ppg. Compare that stat line to westbrook and Paul George this season lmao 25ppg on 23 shots and 20ppg on 18shots. Lmaoo stfu
What’s even funnier in all of this is various sports analysis and news outlets had the Thunder ranked higher than the Rockets (I’m a fan) for the SECOND year in a row. 🤦🏾♂️ And once again, the narrative changed about how the Rockets have more shooters and talent. Anyways, great video! Every thing you said was a FACT.
We did vs gsw in 2015 LOOOL he averaged 21 misses a game which is an NBA FINALS RECORD more shots u take the more energy u expend so anybody who thinks hed have the same fg shooting 20 shots a game as he would 30+ is a fool
jeremiah greenwood you're an idiot, despite seeing consistent triple teams and no other star to pass too LeBron broke records during that finals leading both teams in points rebounds and assists......he led in assists let that sink in that means he willingly distributed the ball despite playing with lesser talent. His true shooting percent was 45%
Plain an simple nobody is going to mesh with Westbrook until he moves to the 2-guard position. He just isn't cut out to be a point guard regardless of his triple doubles and stats he is a true scorer they need a pure point guard and that way they would be able to play together. But that's only my opinion.
RASHAD321979 I dont know about the 2 guard, but he needs to learn how to play off the ball. Watch any game of westbrook and all you see him doing without the ball is standing still. Not to mention his trash decision making and destroying the flow of every offense he is in. He has all of the athleticism and god given talent in the world and if he doesnt fix this he will never sniff any type of team success.
like i don't even care about the guy being off the ball but they have to do something more than an adams screen and then russ throwing up a shot, like can some other players move?, no one cuts and from what i see only adams sets a screen for some reason, it never really works cus russ still has his assignment(and it'd be lovely is russ would move off ball). overall jus a terrible offensive scheme
worst superteams ever 1. 2012-13 Los Angeles Lakers - If you have a team consisting of Kobe, a 2 time MVP and the best center in the league, you must reach the finals or probably win a ring but because of bad team chemistry and injuries, this team became real shit. 2. 2013-2014 Brooklyn Nets - A team with aging but still decent Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and top 10 point guard in the league Deron Williams, adding Brook Lopez cause he was also a great center for the nets, you couldve atleast went to the conference finals and win alot for the next two seasons but 3 of those immediately left right after the season and probably the worst decision the Nets did. 3. 2003-2004 Los Angeles Lakera - I mean if you have 4 legends in one team, you couldve won a ring yet they lost to a "no name" pistons but really good in 5 games. 4. 2017-18 Oklahoma City Thunder - You know the deal, banana peel.
Actually the 2003- 2004 Lakers problem was injuries specially to Karl Malone who is good both on and off court teammate and also Gary Payton where old. Plus those two 'legends' where awfully old too out of their prime and what we called ring chasers. Plus the chemistry problem between Shaq and Kobe where so bad it's incredibly impressive how they played together...
you forgot to mention that melo is a liability on defense and one of the worst screen setters in the entire NBA. I have also seen a video of melo complaining that russ and steven adams steal all of his rebounds. Also, Andre Roberson doesn't get the acknowledgement that he deserves. he is a lockdown versatile defender. While he was playing, OKC was a top 3 defensive team in the league. After his injury, OKC gradually dropped down to 17th. Steven Adams also carried the team a great deal shooting with extremely high efficiency and being the best offensive rebounder in the league. Despite this, he is always modest in all of his interviews. Everyone looks at the "big 3" as being the key factor in their success or failure but its actually there teammates that have carried the load far more then people realize. Instead everyone focuses entirely on a teams 1 to 3 marquee players. Melo will be leaving OKC as soon as he is a free agent as he will expect a max salary but isn't worth it. he is an iso player and doesn't fit OKC's style of play at all i would trade him for sure. I am not trying to be "melo dramatic" thats just the truth of the situation
