Well I get what you’re trying to say. But I feel a lot more different when I do social media and when I don’t. I often compare myself with superficial things that others put on social media. I know I shouldn’t, but enough time spent on IG and I start to forget that most of the things they put here are fake and start seeing my life dull and uninteresting. I also think my dopamine system gets fucked up. Scrolling through social media and easily getting information fed to my brain is so satisfying to the point where I cannot do anything harder than reading a book throughout the rest of the day. A little bit of social media wouldn’t hurt, but I’m pretty confident to say that it does have negative impact on your productivity. Sure, quitting it for good won’t make a millionaire, but it helped me outperform most of my peers in university.

Been away from social media since Feb of this year when I hot fed up from my wife when she was rushing me to upload our vacation pics while we’re on vacation. I’m not a frequent user to begin with but I kinda miss being in the loop of what’s going on in the lives of my friends and acquaintances. I’ve missed greeting some of them on their birthdays and didn’t even know that one of my former colleague died of an accident a couple months back. Would’ve liked to pay my last respects. I might reactivate my account one of these days. It’s not the social media but it’s how you use them.

My problem is that I don't look good now. Gained weight and lost a lot of my hair. When i used to look good I had a good social presence and felt like posting more but now that desire has diminished.
