If you wrote "1 million dollars" on a piece of paper, it wouldn't start being worth 1 million dollars no matter how much you want it to. It would only be worth that much if others judged it to be so. Self-value does not exist. Self-power does not exist. We are worth nothing except what value we bring to others. It is that simple. Believing otherwise is lying to yourself.
Yes my mother always instals self doubt in me. Like when we’re at the shops she’ll say “but what you want” and proceed to criticise every thing I pick out. Same with her friend. She’ll say such hateful things like “you’re getting dark like your mother” (not a bad thing but if you heard the tone she uses you’d understand). She never stands up for me either and when I complain about how insecure it makes me feel she’ll tell me to ‘take a joke’ or ‘stop being too serious’
@@randomblackgirl6007 I can be really confident around my friends or new people, but when it comes it family i go from 100 to 0. Being in a family that criticises you on everything you do and has an issue with how you look, how you do things, why you do things can really bring a big toll on you. Whereas if it was someone outside of family, i don’t mind because they dont know ME to a T. And that’s why with family it hurts or you feel no support coming through also when they’ve been with you your whole life. My advice to you is to just get yourself together mentally, and then keep on doing what you do because the biggest lesson I learnt is that they’re going to judge regardless. No matter what you do they will keep picking at you and say things that might hurt even if you don’t do what you want to do. Just keep being you. ❤️❤️❤️
When someone says something that offends you, it means they've just brought up something that YOU believe is ultimately true but you don't want to accept it. People can't hurt you if you don't have weak spots. Take note of things that offend or hurt you and see where you need to confront those beliefs and work on challenging them.
It’s mad how quickly I learned this. I was 16, I came in the first day of year 11 and everything had changed. I went from invisible to everyone saying ‘she thinks she’s bad’, ‘she thinks she’s a model’. At first it was weird but after a month I genuinely stopped hearing the comments. It got to a point where my friends had to come and tell me someone was talking about me for me to even notice. And the second time they came reporting to me, I told them to never let me know again. I was not and am not concerned with opinions about myself that aren’t from me.
Even at 50 I'm still having issues on how I feel about myself. I have been a big girl all my life and it has always been a problem in dating. I just can't find my confidence but thank you for all the advice.

MS TAVONDA I just turned 25 last week & for the last year or so I've been trying to find myself & who God wants me to be. Its been pretty difficult though because I'm wanting to be me but still have that mindset of not wanting to disappoint people or doing things wrong even if it's not. 🙍 But between Breeny, Lavendaire, Asha C. & Kayln Nicholson I think I'll get myself together eventually. I feel everything she is saying I have allowed my parents, church people, coworkers etc...to impose their opinions on me. It leaves me feeling confused, drained and disappointed in myself for not being who they want me to be. Yeah, your family and friends matter but God matters the most he said you are fearfully and wonderfully made. @@nabifwo I do not have social anxiety but I am very quiet and shy, I was also asked several times "why are you so quiet, you never talk" so I can definitely relate. I have noticed that it has never bother me unless other people pointed it! Last year I started to accept it and god it feels waay better! The first step is accepting yourself and not blaming. I know one day I'll be the person I want to be and wish that to everybody

I constantly see young girls still care about what others think, and here I am walking around being me, speaking up, and inspiring others to be yourself all the time. Edi Beth I know you should not please others but what if it’s your mom? Should you please her?what if the only reason you’re pleasing her is to saver her life because you don’t want her to get a heart attack and die? For example, I was raped and never told my mom because if I tell her she will surely die from a heart attack. So I’m literally saving her life by not telling her. Also she had the opportunity to abort me when she was pregnant and she told the doctor no. She kept me so I’m Pleasing her by becoming a doctor for her. she always wanted to see one of her kids become a doctor before she does and since my sister is not doing it im gonna do it. I hate medical school but I feel that if it will make my mom happy I don’t mind goin to 8 years of school. And plus she’s paying for it. Is that bad?

If you were violated and abused and got through it for her and were strong for her, if you finally told her your secret, she will continue to love you more no matter what. If you discontinue medical school and pursue another career, she will love you and support you no matter what because what a mother wants while on this earth is happiness for her children no matter what decisions you make and no matter if they work out or not. AS A MOTHER myself, I promise you, she will love you and support you no matter what❤

I realized that I will NEVER be able to make everyone happy. I have to do what I have to do for MYSELF and my mental 🤷🏾♂️ Period. If it makes me happy then I’m doing it lol. I am very independent and introverted and all of my friends are very sociable. I try to do sociable for them but it’s hard because being outgoing is draining for me and if I just need a day of alone time they feel like I’m ignoring them. It makes me have a guilty feeling when I just need to put my phone down and stay to myself for a day.

Although I agree that one should spend time alone. There comes a point where you’re completely alone. In my case I have pushed people away and convinced everyone is toxic. Now im appreciating the beauty of socializing and the value of people because my god. Its not good to be lonely.
