My example is a client who nearly hit a half marathon PR the night before a squat workshop.... 6. Be interesting. Read the news, have hobbies, be good to talk to. Clients will come to an ok exercise session with great conversation. Very few clients will come to an excellent exercise session repeatedly if you're super boring.

Great advice. I am currently listening to James Smith Audiobook on Confidence and he says use failure as fuel and never be defeated. It's the defeated mindset which is the one which kills you and stops yourself moving forwards in life in general. I had 0 self belief and I don't have a great deal now but I have huge courage and determination if I look back at last 10 years of my life I would say I have done a hell of a lot. But it's that inner chimp mindset which dismisses your accomplishments.
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! The amount of quality information I’m finding here is incredible. Would love a video on the TOP mistakes new personal trainers make.
Hey man, just want to say I appreciate your videos! I’m a Massage Therapist working on adding personal training to my skill set and have found great value in many of your videos. Thanks so much!
If we’re talking mindset here, a couple things that have helped me a lot and is a fantastic tool that a lot of top level athletes use is positive self talk and visualization. Too often people talk themselves down and then believe the negativity, visualizing success and telling yourself that you are capable can go a long way toward success in anything.
I could see myself covering this at some point. I probably won’t cover it too soon because it’s still something that I am personally struggling with. Things are improving though!
Hi Jeff! Just found your youtube channel this weekend and have been binge watching it. Love your content and I really appreciate all the information your putting out there. If you keep giving us this value I think your channel is gonna blow up soon. Now I have a question for you. I have a new client that wants to lose weight. In my country all the gyms are closed so she asked me to train her at home. How can I properly train her without weights? I will start her in the foundation phase so I will not need much equipement or weights for 6-8 weeks but what if I enter the Hypertrophy Phase and need weights? How can I solve this problem? Thanks a lot! Appreciate your content!
Thanks for the kind words and the support! I really appreciate that! I’m actually planning on filming a new in home session soon that I think will give some good insights into working with people in that situation. Of course what you do depends on the client and their goals. Since your client is after weight loss make sure they’re in a caloric deficit. When it comes to programming in the hypertrophy phase when doing in home sessions I typically rely more on single leg exercises like split squats and lunges. Even with lighter weights they’ll still be very challenging for most clients. I use a variety of bands for upper pulling moves (some are pretty heavy) and then I use some manual resistance along side band and dumbbell moves for pushing. Again, we’ll cover this more directly soon. Our outdoor training session may also give you some insights as to how to work with clients in this situation. I’ll share that below. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UUSpvAKezXo.html
Good question! I honestly treat it like any other food item that isn’t that healthy. Everything in moderation. If someone is focused on weight loss I typically tell them that they can probably get away with 1-2 drinks per week if they’re doing everything else right. That means their sessions, cardio, sleep, and food are all really good. Anything more than 2 drinks a week really seems to derail weight loss efforts for the average person. I also advise lower calories alcoholic drinks as opposed to beer, etc.
I plan on reviewing pretty much all of the most popular certifications. It will take some time because I go through each course before hand. The only one I’ve reviewed so far is NASM. That review is right here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7RKFm9YOEb4.html
I'm getting better at writing workout plans. But I'm still having difficulty getting customers and working on my customers' form. I was thinking about learning how to do the Functional Movement Screen. Any suggestions? I definitely want to keep learning more and more.
It sounds like you’re off to a good start! I don’t know that the FMS is what I’d focus on in that case. I’d focus more on networking and meeting potential prospects. Try and introduce yourself to at least one new person/prospect every day. The FMS has very little to do with correcting typical exercise form. It’s more of a screen that helps with improving overall movement quality.
Great content I just discovered you while sitting at work bored Lol .. I just got certified through ISSA and I'm new to the training world but not the fitness world I have always worked out even in highschool.. My concern is how to advertise your services if you don't want to train in a gym? I have gym phobia 💁
