Strategies include:
1. Drinking more water
2. Get enough sleep
3. Ditch sugar
4. Get enough sunshine
5. Probiotics
6. Eat anti-microbial foods
7. Eat more antioxidants
8. Move your body!
9. Don't touch your mucous membranes (until you wash your hands)
10. Supplement with vitamins and herbs like: oil of oregano, echinachea, vitamin D, Zinc, and Omega 3s.
Reducing/managing your stress levels is also incredibly important.

Just found your site, I love it. I was RN over 30 years. I now have Sarcoidosis & heart failure. I try to do the things you mentioned. With my reduced immunity I’ve gone to wearing a mask when I go to the store. It has actually reduced illnesses. I wash my hands when I get home. I walk to the store ( not allowed to drive) & that gets me out of the house. Thank you for all your wisdom, I’ll continue to watch you.

Is there a brand of Probiotics you recommend ? I heard studies show not all probiotics reach the gut alive.

I have been wanting to become a nutritionist, and I really don’t know what it’s all about! I love how your a holistic nutritionist and would also like to branch off into that. My go to when I'm feeling run down is my Spicy Cold Cure recipe. Homemade chicken broth Horse radish Onion Garlic Jalapeno Habanero Lemon peel Limes Ginger Cilantro I only use raw organic produce. Simmer for about 15 minutes. Strain and serve. Fill a mug with the broth and add fresh lemon juice and lime zest and Manuka honey. Sip it while it's hot. Your nose will run and you'll sweat out what ever is ailing you. It makes believers out of nay sayers every time. Enjoy!

I am surprised that you didn't mention elderberry extract. That also helps reduce colds before it gets too bad. How do you feel about the flu shot too?
