Brazing in a TXV into a HVAC unit. here I show how to perform copper Brazing and how to braze a TXV without burning and destroying it. I use brazing rods and Acetylene Torch setup #d2dnyac #hvactraining
16:03 - If you point your fire away from the valve while soldering, you decrease the risk of burning your WetRag making it easier to reuse. Also, pointing the torch away from the valve decreases the risk of over-powering the WetRag to keep the valve safe.
When you are brazing the first pieces 11:34 what about all the oxidation that it crates i once was putting an evaporator for a mini reach in cook line there was no way to run nitrogen and it started creating all back stuff.
You can certainly easily braze this while flowing nitrogen and it wouldn't be wise not to. When brazing while not connected to the system, use an adapter to connect to one end of your tubing. I made my own in every size up to 2 5/8. I bought copper caps in every size, drilled hole in center of each cap, brazed in a 1/4 sae stub connector/port in each cap. No matter what size you're working with your covered. Even comes in handy if you have to cut a system into sections for flushing purposes,in those cases I just wrap electrical tape around the tube and cap to seal it. There's never an unavoidable oxidation excuse.
Thanks for a good video. What type of rod was it? Ive found many different types, one with 55% silver. And one with 2% silver and phosphourus. Looks the same :) Do you clean the pipe before branzing with anything special? Im due to change a r290 compressor, so i will use co2 or nitrogen on the inside.
