NIce one. It was good to see that you spend a lot of time just holding the position against the wall or in half plank away from it , as I wasnt sure how much time I should invest in that.

Another great video! Cheers man, always great to learn from you! Does the single bar handstand have much carryover to other skills? I understand it's important for Healy from single bar.etc, but do you feel it carries over to other skills indirectly?
@NileWilsonGymnast
@NileWilsonGymnast 9 лет назад
Thanks man!... It doesn't really other than the Healy down.. However the most important thing is being able to hold the previous skill, IE under somersault / giant to one bar... That's why I spend plenty of time in that position mate. It's also great core stability & will make you stronger in turn 👍🏼

Do you have any tips/videos for wrist flexibility and strength? I've been working on it for a few months now, but my wrists still won't go to 90˚ without external force. Thanks for the videos by the way, I just found your channel today and it's really great!

Fenomenal Video Nile, a big fan of your gymnastics! Tell me, how many times a week do you do ring strength? I'm truly impressed how you achived the azarian to maltese so quickly. You are a great sports character man, and I wish you best of luck in the future my lad!
@NileWilsonGymnast
@NileWilsonGymnast 9 лет назад
William Broman Gym Thank you Very much! Ring strength is part of my daily training! I have a base level of strength I do every day which my body has adapted too & keeps a good level of strength. Then 2-3 times a week have a heavy strength session followed by a day of lighter based work to allow my muscles to recover. Hope this makes sense & helps. Thanks again for your support.

Nile Wilson I see, thank you very much for the quick and awesome reply. I have followed your gymnastics for the last 5 years and I must say that I'm totally amazed by your fanatstic progression, I can not belive how you do it! It was nice meeting you before the Junior European Championships last year, you now the swedish team who trained along side with you in Lilleshall. How do you yearly schedule look like, to you chnage this base program during the year?

@livbowman-baker9933
@livbowman-baker9933 6 лет назад
Levi Heron my tip would be... ur moving too fast if u only have a cartwheel and a front handspring a back handspring is a lot LOT harder don’t just dive into it build up strength and gain the simple moves first otherwise u will injure urself

For a beginner, do you have tips on how to prevent wrists from hurting after holding a handstand? Or does that just come with building up the strength for this skill? Awesome video!
@NileWilsonGymnast
@NileWilsonGymnast 7 лет назад
Hey Hannah, as part of my Body Bible plans I have a section on wrist mobility and strength with exactly what I do to warm up my wrists and strengthen them to avoid this pain!! Its vital you warm up your wrists before practicing your handstands!!

The neutral shoulder position is much easier to hold for a longer time if you have good core strength and shape!

Hi, i dont know if you will see these comments... but who knows.... my son does gymnastics and his handstand needs work ... where does his head have to be (hihihi yes yes... upside down would be the logical answer 🤣)... but on some examples your ears are next to your arms and your head tucked in, others your head seems in a different position.. where should he look when in a handstand and where should his ears be?
